Maybe make it such that the Killer Satellite requires an additional Laser Station to be built on the ground, to fire on enemy nukes/disrupt their electronics. Sort of like the laser-and-mirror ABM/ASAT experiments that were tried during the development of SDI. It would be amazing if through gradual introduction of mechanics like this the game grew to allow nations to build up infrastructure to expand and enable nations to bud off into space proper. Like as the world enters the late 21st and 22nd centuries and suchlike. I, for one, welcome our new freebooting space pirate overlords.
