Mikhail Gorbachev
So... what exactly do spies do? I've seen a number of countries without armies, but with spies, and I was wondering, are they *THAT* helpful? Also, that seems a bit risky
Administrators Alex Posted November 18, 2014 Administrators Share Posted November 18, 2014 They're not that useful until you're a very large nation. Not to mention they're super expensive, to buy, maintain, and to operate. Quote Is there a bug? Report It | Not understanding game mechanics? Ask About It | Got a good idea? Greatnate
Pretty much they allow you to gather information on your enemies and prevent those enemies from gathering information on you. A nation with no spies is very easy to spy one, but spies have limited utility beyond gathering basic information.
Phiney
Spies are incredibly useful in war
elsuper
Very useful against ships, and I've taken down a fair number of aircraft with them, though I'm not sure the latter was as cost-effective.
Emmad
They aren't better than an army, but they can be pretty good to have. Especially if you just want some general info.
