Here's a quick suggestion on how to manually recruit:

Step 1: Write up a recruitment message which is meant to be sent to anyone that joins the game, explain why they should join and how vibe can help more than other alliances can.
Step 2: Click at Nations, and send that message to every one in that list however try to not spam the same people.
Step 3: Do this daily.


Edit: I'd strongly suggest you move onto some bigger alliance, where you could grow and learn more and then you'll get a skill or two to use on your own alliance

This was probably a self fulfilling prophecy. More people may have joined if not for this which would have delayed your collapse.

I agree.  I recently got a bunch of recruiting messages (being a new player) and I immediately tossed all the ones that said "aren't you tired of bots?" and "You'll probably ignore this!" and other such self-defeating silliness.  Just speak your truth: "I want you to join my alliance because I want to accrue power and a player base!" or "Join my alliance because I want to help new players!" or whatever your truth is, and people will respond to it.
