Stalin was a fascist pretending to be communist. Change my mind.

Ok. Think about it for a second. What is one of fascism's defining traits? One person in total and complete control. Did Stalin have total and complete control over the USSR? Yes.

Another defining trait of fascism? A cult of personality. Did Stalin have a cult of personality based around his in the USSR? Absolutely.

what i've just said said might be totally wrong. if it is, feel free to correct me.

this is just a theory.

A GAME THEORY!

Fascism and communism are similar, but notably different.
Communism is supposed to put the people first and have total equality, while fascism puts the good of the state first and is supposed to have almost total equality (there are the elites running the nation and then everyone else is equal).
Note, the creator of fascism (Benito Mussolini) was a socialist. A full blown Italian communist. He was just pro-war and got kicked out of the socialist party, so he made his own militant socialist group that became more authoritarian. Thus fascism was born.
Also, National Socialism is fascism. Most forms of fascism have "socialism" in the name and are run by "socialists" by definition. It's just different tho.

No, you are cherry picking similarities and then saying they are the same thing. There are a lot of different authoritarian ideologies, and only one of the is fascism. Here's a quick study sheet comparing the differences between fascism and communism:
