Questioning the moderation process.

I have to agree with the OP here.

It's a dangerous road we're walking down here, and I have quite a lot of hope for this game and this community.

It would be a shame if it's wrecked by a trigger happy moderation staff.

If it's locked, and people are warned over a serious concern, then the point is simply made more valid.

 

Besides, Sheepy is a good dude. I'm sure he will address this.

That is a silly rule.

It existed as far back as Pixel Nations, where I was banned from the game after getting banned on IRC by Sheepy during the Anson takeover. I agree that it's a dumb rule, though. Not least because it circumvents the forum moderation apparatus.

I would agree that an irc violation should result in an irc ban and not affect the forums, UNLESS the offense holds enough weight to warrant a ban or suspension from the game in it's entirety, which would include irc, forums, and the game. One example would be rl death threats stated while in irc, etc.
