  1. I have said this in private and I'll say it again: I dont think its smart to make such all encompassing rules without testing your changes first. if anything, the test server is the perfect evidence that the initial changes the design team discussed ended up falling short of the goals, hence this need for this post in the first place. In a similar vein, the beige bait rule focuses on one aspect of how people use war mechanics, and will have unintended consequences. This isn't a well thought out rule.

it will affect raiders more than everyone else, whereas in reality the rule is only being introduced because alex CBA'd to moderate slotfills during globals. it would make more sense to come up with a better definition or some sort of alternative, than seriously harm a valid playstyle for a fraction of a fraction of wars declared during globals.

Can someone tldr why these micros wants $16b like what did CTO do to make that even feasible?

HS, CTO and OWR had a joint sphere bank, created by OWR during Nexus. each aa invested 2.6bn, and received dividends. tldr of it is that it went to shit sometime in 2022 when OWR mass deleted.

I took over the ceo position after the OWR guy left the game, which is why HS thinks CTO should pay for whatever amount they feel entitled to.

    16bn has never been feasible.

You can always tell when an alliance wins its first war by itself, because it thinks pulling shit like this is doable.  Aurora did the same thing a few months ago.

You would think an alliance as old as HS would know better than this, but I guess not.

It really shows an alliance's character to see how they treat others when they have them at their mercy.

I just noticed the CTO is using VE as its bank, I take it all back, feel free to increase the terms.

I know the last sentence is a joke, but i'll respond seriously: 2-3 years ago when there were rumours of them rejoining the game (specifically them talking about their bans expiring) piggy claimed the name so that they couldn't rejoin and have their name back, as a form of 'f you in particular'

As for the rest of your message, I tend to agree. Though i'd call this a guardian victory, considering they contributed the most per war (roughly 2x HS's).

Dear fellow leaders of Politics & War,

As we navigate the complex landscape of international relations, alliances play a crucial role in shaping the fate of our nations. They can be the catalysts for cooperation, economic prosperity, and mutual defense, or they can become sources of tension, rivalries, and even full-scale conflicts. With this in mind, let's engage in a thoughtful discussion on the future of global alliances and the path we should take as a community.

    1. Are alliances essential for the success of a nation, or can countries thrive independently? Share your thoughts and experiences on the benefits and drawbacks of alliances in Politics & War.

    2. What qualities do you consider crucial when forming or joining an alliance? Is it mainly military strength, economic stability, shared ideologies, or something else? How do these factors contribute to the stability and longevity of alliances?

    3. How can we encourage more diplomatic interactions and cooperation among alliances? Are there any game mechanics or changes that could foster a stronger sense of collaboration and prevent conflicts from escalating into all-out wars?

    4. What role should non-aligned nations play in the global stage? Should they be facilitators of peace, neutral entities, or independent powerhouses that challenge the status quo? Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of being a non-aligned nation.

    5. How can we strike a balance between competition and collaboration among alliances? Is it possible to have healthy rivalries without resorting to aggression? Share your ideas on maintaining a peaceful and dynamic environment within the game.

Let's engage in a constructive and open-minded discussion about the future of global alliances in Politics & War. Your insights and experiences are valuable, so let's strive for a meaningful exchange of ideas that will shape the course of our virtual world.

Want a lot of cities? Find a close group of friends that trust each other and make a plan. This game is basic. It just needs coordination. So since the incrowd here doesn't really want Alpha to exist, we are choosing to play the game our way. And yes, the game's economy is badly broken and in need of a huge fix.

Suffice to say that if HS wasn't willing to accept 4b, then it was obviously not going to accept 2.6b

That's my point. They showed a clear unwillingness to negotiate, and just insisting on out of date figures. In response to your comment:

"makes it quite obvious that they did try to negotiate first. ", which is demonstrably false.

If they tried to negotiate for a reasonable sum they'd have already met us in the 4bn figure, and not blindly insisted on 8bn.
