November 4th, 2014: After the War of Purple Aggression, The Atlas Confederacy rebranded itself as the alliance we all know and love today, Rose. As Vack put it, “The smell of Roses filled the air, and all that could be heard were joyous cheers to the backdrop of the glorious sound of Seal, piercing our hearts with his majestic singing voice.” Anyways, I wasn’t in Rose or even playing P&W at this time. I joined the game shortly after Papers Please. I think this was during Rose’s weeb Shogunate days. As much as I love sudoku, I didn’t join Rose when I created my nation. In fact, it was more than two years later that I finally joined up with my flowery friends (April of this year) However, during my first two years of P&W, I do remember taking a keen interest in Rose. As I read about the history of P&W, I saw that Rose seemed to be involved in most, if not all major affairs. It seemed that many influential players and leaders of other alliances were born in Rose. Why is this alliance so omnipresent? Hm, this had to be hax. My suspicions were later confirmed when all other alliances got deleted and we were all in Rose. After meeting Abbas, I believe it was his demon sorcerer powers that made this happen. #BanAbbas2k19 Fast Forward to April 2019. I was enjoying my retirement from P&W when Abbas slid into my DMs and told me to join Rose. “Play P&W? Yeah, right. Not gonna happen again.” As usual, Abbas won and, well, here I am. As the Head of Milcom position was vacant, I was quickly appointed to that position and set out to prepare Rose for any potential conflicts. During this period of peace, I spent a lot of time DMing Rose members to remind them to hit our MMR and WC standards. It was through these DMs that I got to have conversations with our members on a more personal level. I really got to know my fellow Rosians and connect with them. I was the newcomer, but Rose was soon becoming my home. When it was time to go to war, I often woke up to literally hundreds of DMs from Rose members and gave out instructions on what to do. Because of the immense game lag at that time, I pretty much had to give up on managing my own wars so that I could better serve the alliance as a whole. As we all know that this has been a loooooong war, we actually reached the end of the previous leader’s term. Rose being democratic, it was time for elections. With a platform built on increased transparency, revitalization of all governmental departments, and a return to greater emphasis on community development, I was elected as Rose’s new Emperor. As Prefontaine and others have said, I believe in the Rose that is “a community with an alliance attached.” It’s insane how time flies; I can’t believe that I’ve already been a Rosian for seven months, and leader for almost two. Rose may be an old alliance at five years of age, but it’ll never die. It’s been an amazing ride so far and we aren’t even close to the best part. I am proud to be the leader of such an awesome group of people. For Rose!

The Sovereign, from the high perch of his palace, peered out into the sky above. It was filled with dark, ominous clouds that loomed overhead for miles. He turned his view down below and witnessed civilians rioting across the cobblestone streets, setting everything aflame. Suddenly a massive ship materialized from the clouds. The flash of rampant lightning illuminated the heavens. The sovereign, taken by surprise, stepped back from his perch. What could this goliath be? It was going to fall on the city! But… it didn’t. The massive ship was floating in the sky. How could this be? A door opened, with white smoke beginning to arise from the door. Out walked a godly figure with menacing golden eyes, donning armor of pure white and a regal demeanor. Two figures were standing on either side of him. He approached the Sovereign and the figures followed, emerging from the mist. One was a woman in white attire and the other was a young man with several artificial enhancements and major scarring. The god loomed over the city and announced his claim over the Sovereign’s lands. Initially outraged, the Sovereign would very quickly quiver at the overwhelming sense of despair that emanated from his new overlord. All would bow before the Immortal Emperor! A smirk appeared on his face and he slowly walked back into his ship, preparing to claim even greater lands…. In short, Rose’s elections are over and a new theme has been chosen! This idea will remove yet another layer of strategy from this game. The entire war system, in general, is quite flawed. What you are proposing is a lazy way to address an issue that is simply going to make war even more boring. Both in real warfare and in this game, short-term losses/sacrifices are intentionally made to secure long-term victory. Here is what is currently happening in this war: Each alliance that understands how war works due to your mechanics is not at all trying to beige their enemies. They are trying to sit on the enemy and do as much damage as possible without beiging because nobody wants to stack beige and give their enemy full rebuild of their military. Those people that are being sat on and cannot do anything to fight back are then declaring wars on alliances that don't understand how war works in the hopes that they are inexperienced enough to offer them the haven that is beige so that they can rebuild and get back into the fight. So, if you change your beige system to what you are proposing, the actual players that are pinned in their defensive wars and desperately need beige to rebuild will no longer be able to get it. Established alliances know too well that beige is a powerful tool and so, they will deny it to their enemies. Your intent with beige was to allow losing people to have a fighting chance/rebuild/etc. That's not gonna happen when they are the defenders. Against good Milcom, defenders aren't going to get enough time to rebuild unless a mistake was made. Some suggested that in any war, the side with less resistance after expiration gets beige no matter what. That might be the better way of going about overhauling the beige system. But the bigger issue is that the attacker gets a huge advantage over the enemy due to planes. Planes are the most powerful unit in the game that can only be countered by other planes. Meta is that you have a squad of 3 attack an enemy nation and target their planes. 3 v 1 = zero'd planes for the defender very quickly. Once the defender has no planes and the offense has Air Superiority, there isn't anything else the defender can do. Now the offense can use their planes to target all other units. I personally don't even care how many other units the enemy nation has when I assign targets for my alliance members. My major concern is planes. The only threat is planes. The only objective is planes. The only advantage is planes. Blockades barely matter since most established alliances have warchest requirements and/or fund WC for their members. Ground Control doesn't matter if your planes are already zero'd and your enemy has a bunch. Fix this problem before you touch beige. Implement anti-aircraft units or something. War is all about planes and it's very easy to eliminate the enemy's planes in the first round or two. Defenders might actually have a fighting chance if planes weren't so OP. People are trying to get 5-6 days of beige because that's how much time it takes to rebuild your planes to max. Plenty of fighters are only building their planes back up. I'm going a bit off-topic, but what I am trying to say is that beige is not at all the biggest concern regarding the war system. Right now, it's one of the few strategic things the game's mechanics allow us to play with. You need to implement changes that allow room for strategy. You need to do a deep analysis of global wars and then do a thorough analysis of the entire war system in regards to how those wars were won. The war system needs to be looked at holistically so that proper changes can be implemented. Not looking at the whole picture is going to lead to worse gameplay and exploits that you will regret later and have to change again. @Alex

Only the Arch supporters understand true art. Samwise had the most visually appealing pumpkin, yes. However, that pumpkin does not reflect any inner meaning. There is no message to be left behind. The great artists of the past and even present often leave behind a revealing message about something important such as society, war, inequality, etc. Arch is sending a message here. He is expressing his grief over the lack of dynamic gameplay due to the ruling party, TKR. The jagged lines reveal the lack of hand-control of a man without power in an oppressive world. The lack of effort shows the loss of energy as the top feeds off the labor of the bottom. However, his words, "TKR Sucks," are fighting words. This symbolizes the fight left in the peasant. They signify that the revolution is coming. Nay, that the revolution has come! Happy Halloween! Good luck on the battlefield! Blood for the Blood God!

Also, for the millionth time, Prefontaine did NOT choose our war target! This war is not a result of some phantom boner you guys think Pre has for Alpha. It's literally a result of 20ish players of this game that got bored and simply decided to declare war on a random alliance with many people in our war range for fun. Games are supposed to be played for fun, right? Or is that some revolutionary concept that I just made up? Whatever happened or did not happen with Alpha before was a long time ago. So, get over yourselves. You're not special. Pre doesn't care about you. TEst doesn't care about you. Khorne doesn't care about you. Get over it. Why are you guys trying to create a grudge that does not exist? I swear, this fetish that Alpha-related people have for Pre is ridiculous and pathetic. Also, if you're taking a break, get off the forums. Your alliance is frozen, so this thread should be too. If you are "taking a break" and may "resume this war later," then take a break from this thread and and come back when you actually want to fight for real instead of run away.

Statement on Spanish Armada's Inactivity & Self-Destruction So, there are now 3 total nations of 13 from Spanish Armada that have gone into Vacation Mode as a result of this war..... 10 more to go? I'm very disappointed. SA promised "Mutual Destruction" or something like that. I guess it was all talk. Was looking forward to Round 2 after SA had rebuilt a bit, but the number of remaining fighters keeps dwindling. Not enough blood. Khorne won't be pleased.

I thought the point of this thread was to originally make a statement about Spanish Armada's "activity levels" during wartime. The fact that you guys don't care about the game anymore, as you yourself admitted, as well as the fact that you abandoned a front that you were originally winning (spy front), should prove that you guys are in fact quite inactive as an alliance. We didn't need outside help to neuter your spies since you already abandoned that front. Not very hard when your opponent has already given up. Your actions say that you've given up, and even your words are starting to indicate that. Why not do yourselves a favor and just accept peace so you can go back to the pixel-hugging that you all seem to love so much? Even better, if you don't care about the game.... What's the point in playing it? Go into VM like your friends or delete honestly. If/when I get to the point where I don't want to play the game anymore, I'm going to militarize and blitz a random alliance that has the capability to destroy me so that I can go out with a blaze of glory and then after beige, finally delete. Not trying to be a dick, but honestly, why play a game you don't even like? Seems like a waste of time imo. Go do something fun irl with friends/family, play a new game, etc. You were acting like you were going to make the most of this war and "destroy TEst's lower tier" or something like that. Now you're making a bunch of ridiculous and desperate comments to try and save face, but in reality, you're just making yourself look even worse. Huh, he went into Vacation Mode just a few turns before coming off of beige..... It seems that someone is trying to deny Khorne of his blood. No matter. We'll just spill twice the amount from the remaining members to make up for it. Blood for the Blood God! Seriously though.... I thought the deal was not to go down without a fight. Also thought we were supposed to have some fun for the "coming weeks." Looks kinda like at least one of the thirteen gave up already. 719 turns / 12 turns per day = Just shy of 60 days in VM. 60 days / 7 days in a week = Over 8 weeks..... I was looking forward to this.... looks like we're going to get some serious blue balls if this keeps up...

Tbh, I didn't expect y'all to do much after several of you built up 12 MAPs to launch nukes and then delayed the chance to let them drop, wasting MAP regen. Thought the whole "wartime activity" thing was a joke. With that being said, nice job on your spy coordination. Nice to see that activity back. It's not fun if you don't fight back. As I said before, I love war. We all should. Why sit around for months doing absolutely nothing? No point in playing the game then imo. Therefore, I thank you guys for continuing to fight after Round 1. Once again, am looking forward to Rounds 2,3,4, etc. TEst is going to have fun and I hope SA does too.

Was very fun. I only got to fight one AIM member (rest of my wars with SA), but he was super chill and we had a nice conversation while at war with each other. Pre said it best tho: ^Is pretty much what I have to say.

12,442 lead * $3,594 avg PPU = $44,716,549 in lead alone. We never went into this war with the primary intention of looting. We fight to burn pixels, to spill blood. Ours and our enemies, Khorne cares not. With that being said, $44.7M (not including other resources nor looted cash), definitely helps with the rebuild. Khorne got his blood and some of us are still getting some loot to pay for the damages. Is a pretty good deal for us imo. Anyways, I love war so looking forward to Round 2, 3, 4 etc...

This might be the worst DoW I've ever seen. I personally like it when people have a theme and make something clever. A straight-up declaration of war is kinda boring and not really fun to read, especially from a micro. Considering you tend to post stuff often, I feel like you want your alliance to get attention. Why not spice up your posts a bit then? Maybe people will tolerate em more idk
