  1. Ah shit yeah, your previous 15 threads hadn't convinced me, but yeah this is the one.
  2. This very quickly devolves into the kind of thinking that absolutely crushed this game's (still barely alive) predecessor. When the exclusive goal of an alliance's government is minimizing risk, literally any decision is justified if you say it's to protect your members. At best.
  3. I actually have no idea why I continue to do this, but for the fact that I like to hear myself speak, but no one's trying to censor you. But you're on here arguing with people who have been playing this game and its predecessor(s) for significant parts of two decades who are trying to explain to you, to absolutely no avail, that this is just how things go. You could spend another half dozen threads "investigating" the causes for this war. Wars are constantly manufactured because a) people are always looking to cut down other alliances/spheres and b) folks get hella bored with no war. So many people have asked that you just listen, but you have thus far refused, so now they just ask you to shut up, which has proven equally fruitless. Nobody wants to hear about "censorship" when you've cranked out nearly 500 posts in 3 months.
  4. yes, welcome to nation sims, this is how it goes
  5. Feels like there's a 462-post body of work that says otherwise.
  6. I regret to inform you that you probably are.
  7. Peace in this game happens because people understand that there is decreasing marginal benefit for the dogpilers and increasing marginal benefit for the people getting dogpiled for each day the war extends, and therefore there comes a time at which both sides are satisfied to end it.
  8. starting to wonder where all those gag orders went and if they can come back
  9. My point was really to say that this is not remotely a place where alliances' "reputations are made". At best, people simply hope their reputation doesn't go to die here. Reputations are built and maintained elsewhere, and basically nothing productive comes out of the OWF besides a few chuckles here and there. It was very easy to assume this was naivete early on, but given how fruitless *gestures broadly* has been, and how consistently you have been told that, in fact, the Open World Forum is not where people have these big, expository discussions where major agreements are brokered, I really can't see how you're being anything but intentionally obtuse so you can keep the bit going.
  10. This communicates a very clear misunderstanding about what these forums are for.
  11. Good night, Swamp. Good work. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill you in the morning.
  12. Agreed with the folks above. Making descriptions optional seems to eliminate the need to reduce their size. Some people really enjoy the big and boisterous descriptions!
  13. Similarly, I extend everyone but you my sympathy
  14. Nothing like seeing a bunch of people on the winning side of a dogpile complain about not having slots. You all truly have my sympathy. All that being said, @Orcinus Orca, @Hodor, and a handful of others are very pleasant folks to see around.
  15. Finding a group that ragequit after being exposed for cheating more palatable than you find us is more an indictment of yourself than it is of us.
  16. Hello, it's me, the guy whose point you're proving.
  17. Seems like a bit of a mischaracterization to me. Nobody got upset with you for not knowing things. People got upset with you for not knowing things but asserting that you most assuredly do know things.
  18. The war ends when your coalition becomes sufficiently apologetic for deciding to sic its most prolific shitposters on us.
  19. ~160 offensive wars since Nov. 6th / 33 members = <5 offensive wars per nation "high intensity fighting"
  20. We're talking about a guy who just several posts earlier was saying "well actually IQ was good", so his credibility to make any point was pretty much shot at that point. Further, his main points were bad.
  21. There's a first time for everything.
