Rude to come into somebody's thread and ask them who they are. :P

Sorry, you must be new to the game.  Welcome to Orbis!  Please have fun while you're here, and remember that you are all playing a game, and that behind each screen is a living, breathing person with feelings. I hope that everyone can be respectful of each other, even when we disagree, and realize that while this is a competitive game, there's no need to take it to a personal level. Be kinder to each other. We can all work together to make a better, friendlier, less toxic community by having compassion and respect for one another.

I asked this question before, and apparently people got upset about it or something? Not really sure why, it all looks perfectly fine to me.

As one of the people who was against it, add I recall, none of us had a problem with the idea, our problem was regarding it's current mechanics, and how there's really only a few of the improvements that will become the standard in the meta with no room for variance if you want to survive.  Thus there was heavy complaints about balancing the improvements, rather than the mechanic itself.

If you have read all the way to this point you are either really pissed right now or a true friend to the crown.

P.S. - I did warn you not to scroll down ?

I'm neither.  Just very confused by this micro drama.

There could be resets for people within a certain range(e.g. 3k+) every month or so, like randomly take down stuff until they go back to a specific score.

This would give everybody equal chance and nobody will dominate the pnw server forever.

You clearly don't know how NPO works then.

    Sir,

In reading some of the suggestions in other threads, I noticed a complaint that older players have an advantage over newer players in terms of money, cities, etc. At the same time, people have been quitting due to this war dragging on, politics being the same and stale, and not having much of a way to grow. Furthermore, the leaderboards are basically set until those players quit or they somehow get nerfed. Fraggle will almost certainly be #1 in NS due to Nukes, war stats are basically untouchable due to years of generating them, and the people with eg 40 cities will remain on top  and dominate the market. There are also complaints that the market is unbalanced.

One answer to this is a complete reset. I think that is a bad idea because people like to hold on to their nation they've worked so hard to make...

My suggestion is to make a second edition of Politics and War that can function alongside Orbis, but starts from a clean slate.

    Pros

    -Allows people to play more

-Encourages old players to come back to a fresh start

-Clean slate means achievable goals means fresh competition for everything

-New and different political entities and treaties (I would hope...?)

-Possibly more donations as credits will mean a lot more in a reset

    Cons

    -Server size?

-Lag (probably partially solved by having different turn change/update times, such as an odd number of hours apart)

-Carry over politics, edition confusion (possibly solved by calling it a different name)

    Cheers,

    -zig

Again, the Kool-aid seems to be strong with you @Smith and @Filmore. I have no idea if you folks ever played any of those games, but the NPO was at no point ever at fault for killing either of those games. Actually, if anything they were the only ones willing to assume the villain role in one of them a good decade ago, and CN hasn't been the same since a lot of the active player base lost interest after defeating the NPO.

Though I mean it's easy to claim NPO kills games because its community survives rollings and sticks together because win/loss are functions a part of a game, but it doesn't change the internal community/strength it has. Probably why a lot of us old CN'ers who politically hated it for a decade or more, ended up in it here.

I mean, I've talked to you in private and you know my opinion on the matter, I was just memeing listing the wrong game.  But have your Kool aid and sit in your echo chamber if you really want to.

lol we killed NS now too? It's one thing for Smith to make ignorant posts about CN without even bothering to consult its wiki, but this is a level of stupid above that. I challenge you to find a single informed person who believes NPO killed NS, even setting aside the fact that it's pretty hyperbolic to say NS is dead is in the first place.

I thought they killed CN, are we changing that, or just declaring they killed both?

Answering the peeps who have mentioned TMC as a war dodging alliance:

We calculated the time of our creation to one week or so after the end of the Surf's up war, having the alliance we were in (Soup Kitchen) acknowledge that plan. However, the global war happened 1 day after we were informed of the end of Surf's up. Since we were still in Soup, we agreed with them that we would fight for them until the time previously agreed for our leaving. Soup Kitchen and Chaos do not consider us War Dodgers, and it's their decision about the matter. KT or Empyrea have no business with our situation so I personally do not understand why they keep telling these lies. I will post screenshots later to prove Soup Kitchen's acknowledgement of our situation before the war and them not considering us war dodgers just for the sake of publicity.

If people want to believe in their own fabricated lies, it's their own choice. But may people see the truth and decide by themselves.

I wasn't aware @Akuryo was KETOGG, but welcome to the crew I guess North Point

TMC is what I assume you're referring to as an alliance of war dodgers. That is far different from what we currently face. There's ample evidence that this alliance was planning on forming before the war was even rumored. Poorly timed? Perhaps. Pure war dodging? I don't think so.

Ah, so only certain war dodging counts.  Glad you cleared up how bias your decision is.

No ceasefire was brokered, we merely stoped launching attacks temporarily out of our own generous hearts and I'm calling it a ceasefire because I'm to lazy to type all that. We were still 100% at war with these nations and informed TS of this fact on day 1 and that unless they surrendered promptly we would continue with the wars, as is our right.

And when you do, you've attacked nation's now protected by t$, who protects them, as is their right.

  11. 4 minutes ago, Malal said:

Let me turn this around, if ts signed a protectorate over UPN 2 days after ketog hit TC and then entered into the war by launching counters on guardian would you call that offensive or defensive?

Quite easy, if there was a cease fire being broken during "peace talks", t$ would be defensively protecting it's sphere.

Hate to tell you, my opinions don't change depending who they apply to.  That's an IQ trait.

  12. Just now, Malal said:

T$ entered into the war by protecting ex-arrgh gov that we merely had a temporary ceasefire with pending speedy negotiations (that failed) and offensively hit bk.

TS has a non-chaining MDoAP with NPO, not a MDAP. Seems pretty clearcut to me, seems partiboi has lost his edge.

And you say we need mental gymnastics to justify stuff...
