  1. An ex-marine by the name of Charlie Mayer is appointed to the position of Marshall. He is given complete control over the Royal Petravillas Army and it's assets, he is seconded to the King. Marshall Mayer decides to take half the army, or one-hundred soldiers, with him. He decided to use all of the vehicles, and to allow ethnic Ivens to participate in the attack. The Petravillian force numbers 150 soldiers. The army, by using all of their vehicles, is able to both sit comfortably, and bring along plenty of supplies. Sentries from Apol were able to see the large convoy of vehicles coming. They immediately expected the worse. Militiamen and the garrison were quick to take up positions along the fortifications. The convoy parked in a formation that allowed them to use the vehicles as cover, and the additional supplies they were able to bring along helped in being able to eventually make holes in the fortifications and out-gun the Skullcrushers. The Skullcrusher force quickly retreated into inside Apol proper. Expecting them to use the buildings to their advantage, the trucks are used to break holes into various buildings. Before long, the general citizenry surrenders the city for the Skullcrushers. The Skullcrusher garrison and some of the militiamen retreat into the nearby mountains. Success was had at this day. The causalities are as followed: Royal Petravillas Army: 8 killed, 13 wounded Iven: 3 killed, 7 wounded Skullcrusher: 12 killed, 13 wounded Civilians: 10 killed, 27 wounded Out of the 31 vehicles used, 13 were damaged beyond use. The remaining 18 are quickly repaired. The success encourages several young people to join the military. The damages done to Apol are quickly rebuilt, especially since extra trade begins to flow. _____________________________________________________________ The zombies and Amits start to battle it out, there's no clear indication who's winning and who's not. The Skullcrushers east of Outer Petravillas have left their position. The map has changed: Status: Food Rating: 75% / A fair amount of variety and a lot of it. Military Rating: 50% / A decent force. Stability: 65% / The people are content. Technology Rating: 25% / Little progress has been made since The Fall. Infrastructure: 50% / Most areas are alright to travel in. Economy: 65% / Trade is decent, and is expanding. Actions: A - Improve the food situation / Make it a general goal to increase the number of livestock and crops. B - Improve the military situation / Attempt to add mounted weapons onto vehicles. C - Focus on internal reforms / Try to add structure and organization to the government. D - Put effort into improving technology / Establish basic schools. E - Rebuild Infrastructure / Focus on maintaining outer roads. F - Manage the Economy / Address the current government budget. SPECIAL: I - Defend!: Rebuild and repair fortifications around Apol II - Explore!: Send a small expedition to Terras to scout out the area.
  2. Now that you've joined Rose, does that mean these services will still be available?
  3. There are four things to answer; to answer, just put the letter of the option you want in order of the question. I.E - A, B, C, A. OR CAAB If we don't get any of the same patterns after 5 posts, then I'll pick the two most similar ones and flip a coin. _____________________________________________________________ The King of Petravillas finally decides that it's time to go to war. He speaks with his advisers about supplying the Royal Petravillas Army with vehicles. Several cars and trucks are bought, donated, repaired, and brought into service. It was rather expensive, but probably worth it. The King of Petravillas decides to attack Apol. Apol is home to about 130 people, most of whom manufacture items for trade and raise animals for food. There is a Skullcrusher military garrison there that is separate from the local population, and some of the local population is armed. The outer edges of the settlement is fortified. We run into a problem, however. The treasury in not unlimited (although it is currently decent). Because we haven't addressed the government's budget, then the costs of this operation will bleed over into how's negatively this harms the economy. Still, we must work out how we will go about planning this operation. A plus (+) sign directly to the left on a letter denotes that the specific option will not increase the price. A minus (-) sign directly to the left of a letter denotes that it will increase the price. Who will lead the assault? +A - The King himself / It's only fitting that the King should lead his men into battle. +B - Promote one of the squad leaders to Marshall and attack / The King is to valuable is risk dying, and a squad leader would have training. +C - Don't appoint a specific leader / Let each squad do their own thing. Speaking of the squads, how much - out of 200 men numbering 10 squads - of the Royal Petravillas Army should be used? -A - All of it / Strength in numbers. +B - Half of it / To expensive otherwise. How many vehicles should we use in the operation? Even with option B, we have enough to transport however many troops we need to, but the less we use, the less their effect (which is position) will be. It should be noted, though, that the more we use, the higher the chance that some will be destroyed. -A - All of them / They were expensive, we might as well use them. -B - Half of them / Save some cost, but still have them. +C - None of them / To expensive otherwise. Finally, a number of ethnic Ivens have decided to take part in the attack. They number around 50 volunteers, and are decently armed and somewhat experienced. They don't ask for any pay, but if we're successful, however, they may expect some sort of landed reward for their participation. +A - Allow them to join in. / We don't know what they may do afterwards. +B - Decline them. / Apol is for the Petravillians. Due to the war drums being beat, the North Ivens thugs stop their antics. The zombie horde and the Amits have already started to clash, but their battle won't end until after our own battle is over.
  4. >mfw you will never pilot a spacefighter and defeat an alien invasion of Earth Feels bad man
  5. That's a nice way to pick up the conversation. The U.S. Air Force is probably more years ahead than what we perceive them to be. Especially because their mission statement (or something like that) has been expanded to include dominating space. I mean, aren't they experimenting with what's essentially a spacefighter? I can't think of it's name at the moment though. I know Area 51 was used for testing, housing, and building experimental aircraft, which was relevant to the Cold War.
  6. I don't have a personal story, but I do hold to the idea that the size of the universe is good enough reason to suspect that intelligent life exists.
  7. RULE UPDATE: Both one regular action and one special action can be chosen at the same time, instead of just one or the other. _____________________________________________________________ After speaking to the North Ivens, the King of Petravillas deemed it fitting to speak with the Amits. The first messenger is killed by a Skullcrusher scout that was checking out the traveling zombie horde. The second messenger is killed by a zombie. It is then decided that efforts to reach out to the Amits should cease until the Skullcrusher presence is cleared, or until the zombie horde is thinned out some. _____________________________________________________________ It has recently come to the attention of the King that North Iven thugs have been pressuring Iven refugees to migrate over to the new Kingdom of North Iven. Families have been threatened and property has been damaged over this issue, as Iven refugees are content with living in Petravillas. This has caused stir among all the population, and has torn Iven refugee families has some want to return, and other don't. Trade between North Iven and Petravillas has started up, and is doing nicely. In exchange for ample amounts of firewood and fresh water, the North Ivens receive firearms, tools, and various smaller technologies. Status: Food Rating: 75% / A fair amount of variety and a lot of it. Military Rating: 35% / A smaller force of decent strength. Stability: 65% / The people are content. Technology Rating: 25% / Little progress has been made since The Fall. Infrastructure: 50% / Most areas are alright to travel in. Economy: 70% / Trade is decent, and is expanding. Actions: A - Improve the food situation / Make it a general goal to increase the number of livestock and crops. B - Improve the military situation / Attempt to add vehicle support to the army. C - Focus on internal reforms / Try to add structure and organization to the government. D - Put effort into improving technology / (Must wait one more turn before using this decision again.) E - Rebuild Infrastructure / Focus on maintaining roads. F - Manage the Economy / Address the current government budget. SPECIAL: I - Attack!: Assault the Skullcrusher position to the east of Outer Petravillas. II - Attack!: Assault Skullcrusher-occupied Apol. III - Diplomacy!: Speak to the King of North Iven over the recent ethnic issues. IV - Order!: Use the Royal Petravillas Army to quell North Iven thugs.
  8. Well, his one city has 6 stadiums, so if he had, say, 5 cities with the same amount of stadiums, that would quickly add up to 30 or more stadiums.
  9. Treasure Island has 6 stadiums, we better hope he doesn't go into FOFA.

  14. (Due to the large number of options right now, I've decided that two votes for an option is better than three.) _____________________________________________________________ The King of Petravillas sends a letter to the King of North Iven, expressing goodwill. The King of North Iven responds back coldly, but seemingly friendly. _____________________________________________________________ Traders report that the zombie horde east of Terras has discovered the Amit tribe via smell, and is moving to their position. 17. Royal greetings! The Evenstar Empire is a blue, European, independent, simple alliance that seeks to only grow economically; and to establish warm, friendly relations with other alliances. We are neutral in foreign affairs, and only wish to defend ourselves, any protectorates we may have, and our allies. Members of the Evenstar Empire don't pay taxes. Instead, they're simply required to provide a certain tonnage of a specific resource each week. The resource and it's amount are determined by a member's economy. For example, if you're in Europe, you won't be asked to provide uranium. We also don't have a large bureaucracy. If any members need to be heard, they can come to their leader (who logs in multiple times a day for hours at a time) directly. Furthermore, we are an absolute monarchy. All power is invested in the Emperor and, as stated above, we're completely independent. There's no need to worry about the bank being mismanaged or having to receive orders by a complete stranger. Excluding the Emperor, the government is small, and will remain that way. Still, we do have in the planning a representative board that will be democratically elected once established. As the alliance is also an extension of the Emperor's own nation, you don't have to worry about the leader up and leaving all of a sudden - dooming the alliance in most cases. Finally, we are a militant alliance. Members are obligated, upon request, to receive grants to finance recruitment cost of soldiers, the production cost of tanks, aircraft, and ships. They are also able to receive munitions free of charge. We are, as of the posting of this recruitment thread, currently ranked #43 with 25 members. Joining is as easy as becoming an applicant on the alliance's page itself: https://politicsandwar.com/alliance/id=1279 Thank you, and have a pleasant day!
  18. Allocated funds from the treasury, the King of Petra tasks a tenth of the male population to work on the roads of Petravillas. They spend time clearing debris, filling in holes, and setting up basic signs. _____________________________________________________________ The refugees from Iven that didn't move to Petravillas have established the Kingdom of North Iven in the wilderness just west of Outer Petravillas. They number a few hundred, and a cousin from the previous king has taken the throne as the King of North Iven. Also, to the northeast, lies a nomadic tribe calling themselves the Amits. To the south, the battle between the Skullcrushers and the Zombies have ended. The Skullcrushers were forced to retreat back some, and the zombie horde has moved more west of Terras. Both sides have suffered causalities. Map: Status: Food Rating: 75% / A fair amount of variety and a lot of it. Military Rating: 35% / A smaller force of decent strength. Stability: 75% / The people are content. Technology Rating: 25% / Little progress has been made since The Fall. Infrastructure: 50% / Most areas are alright to travel in. 19. You know, maybe if you'd actually read the thread instead of having an autistic knee jerk response. you would've seen that Roma had actually managed to be able to convince me that some of my points were questionable to the point where I had recanted and wasn't so opposed to the idea. I actually had some more business in mind for you, so by doing this, you just lost out of millions of dollars worth of future business. Finally, I can have you reported to moderation for your calling of me ''stupid'' - which is name calling, and is against the rules.
  20. Roma, I gotta give you credit, you've done a great job backing up everything you support. I still can't say I'll support gay marriage outright due to my religious convictions, but my cold opposition to it is something I'm going to have to evaluate and review.
  21. In compliance to the rules of the ''Alliance Recruitment'' forum of the ''Politics and War'' section, specifically: I hereby request my first recruitment thread for my alliance, The Evenstar Empire, be locked. The thread in question: http://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6216-the-evenstar-empire/
  22. The basis of my own argument was on that quote, thank you for the additional information. I wasn't trying to be misleading. touche.
  23. Steve Austin has also had 4 wives, so if we think ''jiving'' with Steve Austin is the best compass for marriage, we should also throw out ''death due us part'' within wedding vows.
