  1. Except Political Pirates did attack Rose...and Dharan...and all sorts of other people. They appear to have seen it as what it was, a couple of guys going rogue to do their own thing because Arrgh didn't want them to do it. Then again, it may all have been tied in with the Cobalt deal. Interesting times anyway.
  2. Well tbh, we shouldn't have been there at all. One Admiral unilaterally decided to agree to it without asking anyone and we all got dumped into the mess because of it. The rest of us sacrificed ourselves because of a deal made by one guy. Kinda like we've been dumped into this one because 2 guys went off and did their own thing. It's a good job we're pretty easy going
  3. Yeah. It still cost us WAY more than we were paid. And we were still useful, paid or not. It's history now but diplomatically I'd have thought t$ sphere would have wanted to keep options open. It doesn't matter now anyway. Enjoy yourselves.
  4. I have to agree that they don't need a reason. All this crap about Political Pirates, etc is just an excuse. An excuse that the attackers don't need. It would be hypocritical of me to ask for a solid CB. Should just call it what it is. A war on the guys who work outside the treaty web because we're an easier target. It's still a strange decision. Some people must be seriously bored, especially judging by the infra bombing that is happening. Whilst we're not a match for the combined forces against us, we can be a pretty useful friend to have. It seems the guys hitting us have forgotten how we helped them so much during the last big war. Keep signing treaties guys and keep suffocating the game. We'll still be here for you to wave your epeens at next time you don't have the bottle to take on your real rivals/enemies. It'll never be profitable but I guess it's easier.
  5. Good war dec o/ I'm sure you could have found some more alliances to hit us. This isn't overkill at all :\ I'm not sure that I can believe that this is all because 2 guys left Arrgh to do their own thing and hit Guardian (bad idea as it was). Seems more like you guys wanted something to do and this is an easier option than taking on the Rose sphere. Burn the treaty web. Anyway, enjoy yourselves. Fighting Arrgh isn't profitable. Politically I don't see the point either.
  6. You're getting schooled by Arrgh, landlubbers.
  7. Thanks for killing half of my spreadsheets Another few hours lost by the looks of it. Hopefully it will speed things up ongoing though.
  8. Would also be cool if someone with a nation database could take this on (I'm guessing there are people with this kind of thing). It could then always be up to date and if the data from each day is saved, we could have scores over a given period of time (ie most badass player of the month, year, war, etc.). There's plenty of potential for a really good tools site for P&W. If I knew how I would totally do it but there's only so much I can do on a spreadsheet with no coding knowledge at all
  9. If only FilthyFifths hadn't gone to WTF, Arrgh would have beaten Mensa in a couple of those leaderboards. If Mensa actually get into a proper war though, they should pull away.
  10. Could we just remove all the prenames and titles from the API? Surely nobody ever uses them anyway. All these apostrophe's messing up the data.
  11. New year, new leaderboards. We have an overall player leaderboard, overall alliance leaderboard and individual leaderboards for the larger alliances. I can add more alliances but it's taken me a fair bit of time already, so if you really want an alliance added, ask and I'll try to do it later on. All data is taken from this morning and will not update. Also, damn you Mensa! I'll probably do these every quarter unless Sheepy adds better leaderboards into the game.
  12. Thanks both. That sorted it :-D
  13. Has anything been changed because it always worked before? If not, I'm wondering if maybe a new nation has been created with a character my script doesn't like?
  14. I've been pulling the nations API into a google sheet for quite some time with no issues (https://politicsandwar.com/api/nations/). All of a sudden it stopped working for me yesterday. Error SyntaxError: String contains control character Is this a problem for anyone else? Any idea how I can fix it? Or has anyone got a method for pulling the data that they would like to share with me?
  15. I agree entirely, so long as he still calls it badass score Should add the leaderboards for individual alliances to create a bit of internal competition (it works) and also the overall one.
  16. I'll post an update on 1st Jan. Might even make it a doc that people can open. That's assuming I can fix the issue I'm having with the nations API. Failing that I might have to ask someone who is getting info from it ok to give me a list of all player IDs.
  17. OK. Cheers all. I'll shoot Dr Rush a message in a day or 2 about trying to make this a bit clearer/correct on the wiki.
  18. It's nothing I can't deal with. Just a little surprising. I don't think it says it anywhere. The wiki doesn't seem to mention it and while on that point, it also still says that ground control reduces planes effectiveness to 50%, which of course it doesn't. You still have to take on 67%. It would just be nice if these things were clear.
  19. That's rather silly. Especially when it's classed as a defeat despite losing less of both tanks and soldiers than your opponent.
  20. You could try this guy https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=26244 Depending on who you want hit of course.
  21. That's not right is it? Happened to me last night and cost me another 30k soldiers and 1040 tanks to regain it.
  22. Could we have an alliances API in the same way that we have a nations API? 1 call for all alliance data would be better than having to keep the list up to date and pull them all separately.
