  1. I'm not taking your public condemnation of Roq's actions as indicative of how you talk to new players. In my very first response to you I made that very clear by writing "I don't know how you talk to people in Discord or in any place other than the forums, but for someone who's only basis for judging how you communicate with people is the forums, you would appear pretty toxic, as evidenced by this thread." I clearly stated that I'm not judging your interactions with people in other places than the forums so I don't know why you're trying to claim I'm doing so. If you're going to deliberately ignore parts of my post in your arguments then we really have nothing more to talk about. Additionally, it's not unreasonable to claim that your reactions in this thread have been toxic just because that was what you're accused of being. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. You could have responded in a non-toxic manner yet you chose not to do so. I'm not attempting to judge you as a person, I don't really care about you or have anything against you, I'm just providing commentary and judgment on your conduct in this particular thread because I believe you're reacting to this whole thing in a poor manner. Like I mentioned before, how you behave or talk to people anywhere else is irrelevant to me and the discussion I started with you. Edit: I didn't see @Curufinwe's post before posting my own but he is 100% correct and that's exactly the point I was making. Honestly Scarf, if I showed all those new players what you said about them in your first post here, do you think they'd consider you to be friendly or hostile? As much as you might like to believe it, your good behavior elsewhere really doesn't excuse your bad behavior on this forum or in this particular thread.
  2. Really? You think that's.. encouraging? Wew. If you don't see how that isn't the case, I really don't know what I can do for you. And although I don't blame you for taking what Roq posted personally, he did write "people like scarfalot", which hardly makes it seem like it was solely aimed at you. Besides, you're basically proving him right and you made yourself an obvious target for criticism of the kind of people you were grouped together with with your posts in this thread. You really only have yourself to blame for this.
  3. Deep breaths, Scarf. Deep breaths. It'll be okay. Just relax. He just used you as an example and frankly, I don't know how you talk to people in Discord or in any place other than the forums, but for someone who's only basis for judging how you communicate with people is the forums, you would appear pretty toxic, as evidenced by this thread. I'm sure you can be a perfectly nice and polite person but if one of your points in this thread was to prove how you're not toxic, you did the exact reverse of that, at least from my point of view. Every single one of your posts seems like a knee-jerk reaction to what you perceived as a personal offense and it really looks like you're nitpicking to find the slightest thing to attack NPO over. Personally, I've seen how some of these new nations were greeted in the P&W server and I can't blame anyone for recommending them to stay away. Besides, regardless of how much some people would like to believe it, these new people joining aren't mindless drones that do whatever they're told. They're just as capable of independent thought as you or I. I find it really difficult to believe that you are genuinely of the opinion that every single one of these 200+ nations are forever going to remain entirely isolated from the rest of the P&W community. They will inevitably become involved with the rest of the community at some point if they keep playing and they will reach out on their own if they want to. I think the best thing any of us could do, whether we're just happy to see new players join or if you think it's a bad thing that new players are supposedly being isolated in the "NPO camp", would be to be open and welcoming towards them and introduce them to the rest of the community in a friendly manner.
  4. Yeah, I'm sure every single one of the 1.4 billion people who live there are just like that Let's be real, they're just people like you and me. No better and no worse. Also, I'm pretty sure people wake up from being asleep all the time.
  5. I don't disagree with you, I don't support the government of the People's Republic and the protesters in Hong Kong have my full support. I haven't really studied China's economy in any extensive way and how rich they are and who they're borrowing money from doesn't really interest me. My point was merely that regular people in China shouldn't be punished for the actions of a government they have little to no control over and that Madden's notion that resisting China means you're resisting Communism is incorrect.
  6. The only limitations you have are those you place upon yourself, friend. You gotta apply yourself to supply your wealth.
  7. War is not a means, it is an end. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of power is power. And the object of waging a war is always to be in a better position in which to wage another war.
  8. Speak for yourself dude, I'm not wishing for that. Mainland China belongs to the people who live and have lived there for literally thousands of years. While I agree that the people of Hong Kong have a right to their freedoms, it would be wrong to seek to punish average working men and women for the acts of their corrupt and authoritarian governments. And the Chinese government and economy really isn't Communist. It should be painfully obvious to anyone that actually knows what they're talking about. They might employ Communist aesthetics and rhetoric but such things are mainly meant to keep the population they control in a complacent state. It's easier to control workers if they think their government is pursuing a strongly "pro-worker" ideology. How you managed to let them fool you is beyond me. If you look at what they actually practice, it is beyond a doubt some form of state capitalism. I mean, it's pretty much common knowledge at this point: Don't believe me? You don't have to take my word for it. Just look it up. Anyway, time for a complimentary meme: Enjoy.
  9. Hopefully something that makes him complain about us some more. I mean, how else are we gonna keep track of what we're doing wrong?
  10. Don't go off the deep end brother, you might not like what you find:
