Earlier today, after sending a letter to an unknown source, President Stratos had an assassination attempt made against him. Fortunately, his private guards took most of the hits. Stratos suffered wounds to his lower abdomen with a specially made round, that went out of circulation in Forentia back in the 1970's. An investigation has been placed on highest priority, and until the attacker(s) are brought to justice, Forentia's borders will remain closed. This is both a defensive, and a protective move. No foreign leader may enter, for their own safety as well as that of the president. Any and all national leaders caught within Forentia's borders will be held in the jails for questioning. Once the attacker(s) are caught, our borders will open once again. For now, Vice President Helios, will take over Stratos' duties. He will oversee the whole of Forentia, until Stratos recovers. Given the type of bullet that Stratos was shot with, he's not estimated to be better until at least November. Trade and Foreign Affairs should continue as normal. We thank New Germany for offering aid, however as soon as he was shot, multiple calls were put in place. One was a call for an ambulance, and another was a call to close all borders immediately.
