In the wake of the unjust execution of the Lord of Winterfell, Ned Stark, the Seven Kingdoms are once again faced with an uprising. Robb Stark stands as the King in the North, the first in over three hundred years, and marches South to avenge his fathers death and rescue his sisters from Kings Landing.

The newly crowned King Joffrey Baratheon, backed by the Lannisters, will stop at nothing to defeat the traitorous Stark son and prove his might to all of Westeros.

At the end, only one may stand. Winter is Coming.

Rules:

Mafia: A Game of Thrones is the Seven Kingdoms Alliance take on the classic game of Mafia or Werewolf. The game consists of at least two factions, any number of third parties, and the Hosts. Players are privately assigned a special role and split into one of the factions or third parties. The Hosts are the game moderators who manage the game and enforce the rules. One faction, often referred to as the "Mafia" but typically given a Game of Thrones themed name, are aware of their fellow members and work with one another to select and kill a target from the other faction(s) during the night turn. This faction, once again often referred to as the "Town," are unaware which of their fellow players are in the Mafia. During day turns the all players discuss, argue, cry, and eventually vote to lynch a player, hoping they are a member of the Mafia. Each factions end goal is to kill all the members of the others. Third party groups are players who are not assigned a faction and must pursue a separate goal to win, such as being the last one alive.

Turns

Each game consists of Day and Night turns, with each typically lasting 24 hours in real time. The length of each turn can be adjusted by the Host to fit with the game type and amount of players. During the Day, all players converse in the public game forum in the appropriate thread of that particular turn. All discussions that take place to to be in-character. You may discuss and argue will your fellow players to try and to determine who the "Mafia/Evil" players are. Each day turn will also have a vote, in which everybody selects a player to lynch. The player with the most votes are then killed and the game turns to Night.

During the Night turn, members of the "Mafia/Evil" faction discuss who to kill in their private forum following the same voting method used during the day. The Night turn is also when each player, regardless of their faction, may use their special ability. At the end of the turn, all kills are are announced and the game turns to day again, repeating the process until there is a winning faction or player.

Actions

When a player wishes to take an action per their role, they are to privately message the game Host(s).  The player will receive a private response by the end of the turn informing the player of the result. All private interactions with the Host(s) are to remain private. A log may be posted at the end of the game for all players to see and discuss how the game progressed. Actions do not have to be messaged in-character, though you are free to do so if you please.

Cheating includes but is not limited to:

> No sharing of private messages with the Host(s) to other players. (ie. leaking private messages to prove your role.)

> Private communications between players is not allowed. Keep it on the games forums.

> Be respectful. While in-character arguing and calling out are encouraged, keep things respectful and on topic as individuals.

> You are allowed one out-of-character post when you die and no more.

*While the other rules listed below may be adjusted or changed during specific game types, the above cheating rules are universal.

Activity Requirements:

Each player must post at least once per turn. Failure to do so will result in removal from the game in the form of a modkill. In real life circumstances in which you can simply no longer play, privately contact the Host(s). You will only be excused in the most extreme of situations.

Be upfront about other commitments.  This game is only as good as the effort the players put into it. If you are the least bit hesitant on meeting the above activity requirements, contact a host or hold off playing until you are certain you can play.

Posting:

This is Host Font. Only the Host(s) may use colored text while posting. Do not use colored text.

Do not, under any circumstance, edit your post. If you wish to make a correction or add more, feel free to make a second or third post. But please, proof read your post before submitting it.

Keep posts in character unless you are posting in the designated "out-of-character" (OOC) discussion thread. Adding OOC content to in-character posts is not allowed.

Likewise, post meaningful content. Short posts consisting of "lol" or just a few words made just to meet the activity requirements will not be counted. Repeat offenders will be modkilled.

Inappropriate posts

As mentioned in the cheating section, be a decent human person. While we encourage in-character arguing and banter, do us all a favor and keep things in character. Inappropriate insults will result in a modkill.

If you wish to report an inappropriate posts, send the Host(s) a private message with a link to said post. Do not use in the built in report feature on the forums.

Modkills:

A modkill is when a Host removes you from the game for breaking one of the above rules. It will be presented in-game in a very clear but in-character method. Players who are modkilled without an excuse are banned from playing the game for 6 months. Multiple offenders may be banned permanently.

Cool banner.  This game always confused me, but I might join in.  It is mafia, after all.

The game can definitely look for very confusing as first glance but it's actually quite easy to get into once you're dropped in the middle of it! Lyro and I are going to be the first game's host and can quickly answer any questions you may have during the game.

TheNG - My favorite part is when Steve suggests DEIC might have done something remotely successful, then gets massively shit on for proposing such a stupid idea.
