Reubenia's Founding Myth

The war only became known as 'The Great Cataclysm'. Advanced nuclear weaponry destroyed communication networks and nations' vital infrastructure, causing every nation to descend into anarchy. Many people believed it would take decades to rebuild.

But after only a few years, small nations started to form, centred around the ruins of once great cities. A semblance of order had formed, and people could eat, drink and live inside. But these nations were not free. To maintain a fragile order, they were based on repressive political systems or religious cults. People had no voice; but that was about to change.

In April 2028, Reuben Cheuk called upon the brightest minds of the era; scientists, engineers, politicians, teachers and the like; to come to the former region of Alsace-Lorraine and begin a new nation, founded in the system of democracy; in the values of liberty, equality and fraternity. This social experiment did not fail like some predicted; it flourished. Revolutions around the world tore down their totalitarian regimes, installing democratic governments.

With every day, more people flock to Reubenia. While some nations in the world look at us with envy, many look at us and see a land of opportunity, of hope, of freedom, and of a new beginning for humanity.

SOE was not keen on making Allies that were Democratic but they didn't care what ideology a nation had if only they had nothing against the Ottoman Sultanate.

"As the leader of a nation which was created after a great war, I would like to extend a hand of friendship to you. Perhaps an exchange of embassies would interest you?"

As an elected leader of a democratic nation, we would like to warm-heartedly welcome your nation. Would you like to become allies with Nova Empire? And shall we exchange embassies?

We can exchange embassies, but I don't want a military alliance yet. However, a diplomatic alliance would be great!
