  1. it could be that....or it could be used as a ransom against further damage.
  2. so by the same token if it doesn't require the game mechanic it shouldn't be deemed more harmful than beneficial.
  3. There is already a option to offer mutual peace but I think it might be interesting if parties would be able to offer a 'conditional surrender' i.e. if I give you $200k will you go away or if you give me $500 steel you can end this war. The major problem I have with the idea is possible abuse via multis and such but maybe they will be very obvious and it may be no different than what they do currently.
  4. I'm just hoping I haven't fathered any of these children.
  5. I'm really hoping for the New England secessionist movement to pick up some steam(any...at all). My state gets so very little back from what it pays out to the federal level.
  6. Well one article, yes I will reconsider my entire world view. sorry, not there yet man. also its funny that the article about Austin was written by this person: "Julie Huls has served as the President and CEO of the Austin Technology Council since 2009 where she collaborates regularly with state and national leaders on economic and workforce policy development. "
  7. well there are the geographical and the cultural delineations. I believe that generally the Americans will use the cultural definitions by default but it occasionally does cause confusion and often requires a bit of context. Anyway,I don't generally pay close attention to which states are showing economic growth. I believe that somethings have shifted do to fracking but again that is a finite resource and with all the controversy there is a chance that could always turn around fast. I generally see the south as not likely having the legs to sustain or ultimately retain any large amounts of growth. They don't have the same infrastructure for technology that the northeast and east coast have. My understanding is that tech advancements drive business and create new industries, you just don't see something like silicon valley or Boston in the south. So the south is likely going to rely in raw resources and I think that is tricky in today's world economy. anyway, not my area of expertise.
  8. That would be assuming there was some type of leadership actually involved. Never trust an optimist, they have no grasp on reality.
  9. if you truly weren't privy to the cheating and didn't condone such actions i suggest you empty that bank if possible and go anywhere but the 'new alliance'. There are already many suspicious eyes cast in that direction and likely will be a future reckoning for past transgressions. But thats just by 2cents and I'm just a crazy old fool.
  10. Texas isn't generally considered part of the 'South' in the US. It is kind of its own thing. Also,a lot of Florida isn't considered part of 'The South' in defiance of all logical geography because some parts are just full of northern transplants. While I don't wholly agree with this map it might give you a better idea of what Americans refer to as the 'South' (deep south on the map) http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/govbeat/wp/2013/11/08/which-of-the-11-american-nations-do-you-live-in/ this map is also useful in reference to population density.
  11. I vow to murder anyone that implements another pie chart,anywhere...ever. Edward Tufte would support my just cause. I'd suggest something built on D3.js like for example this http://square.github.io/cubism/ or this http://jondot.github.io/graphene/ or http://nvd3.org/examples/index.html anyway just google D3.js and time series (you'll get cubisim,rickshaw,graphene,nvd3,etc) So you want time series and preferably small multiples not overlapping.
  12. I think he means e wants to invite people....otherwise they just make themselves applicants by applying.
  13. good luck with whatever the hell it is you're trying to do.
  14. I used to go by 'Genitals' Google translate will show the connection.
  15. I don't think the forum will let me post nudes here.
  16. Irish Wolf Hound, just a puppy at 7mo and ~90-95lbs. I can't be sure of her exact weight at the moment because she grows in crazy spurts. Her father was 195lbs so she might be above the average(120lbs) for a female when she is done growing in the next year. I was trained as a chemist but my title just recently changed to engineer because a lot of what I do now also involves software/hardware validation. I spend more time with data analysis than anything else.
