  1. Probably should make donators pay for a security audit. Probably more important than a server with unoptimized code.
  2. you can burn your military stockpile for immediate benefits, sell it to buy infrastructure and cities.
  3. I should also mention that air burst nukes should cause less radiation.
  4. in real life, transferring resources and money from one place to another isn't free
  5. >give people the ability to cause nuclear winter >don't give people the ability to figure out who is causing it
  6. now it's guaranteed to be implemented
  7. High Altitude unpowers a city for 80 turns and destroys money equal to (1/ (number of cities the enemy has) * money) due to emp effects. Ground Burst Destroys a lot of infrastructure and two improvements. Edit: High Altitude should also not increase the global/regional radiation level.
  8. it sometimes shows up on the frontpage. https://politicsandwar.com/ difficult to replicate
  9. On a minor note: this should be remembered as the in-game year without a summer. The Nuclear Winter of 2008 .
  10. eh, changing to more of a siege system would be nicer have to score a naval battle to allow an air strike, have to win an air battle to besiege a city, have to have ground forces greater than the enemy for three days to win the siege.
  11. https://politicsandwar.com/index.php?id=95&selection=23 This is a calculation for net national product. Except net national product still includes military spending, this excludes it. GDP would be GDP = (Gross Income Daily + (Net Resources Produced Daily * Average Market Prices)) * 365.24 It would be possible to compute secret values from this information if you used net income instead of gross income.
  12. 9/1/2015 Update Politics & War has recently fallen victim to a series of malicious hacking attempts. The hackers attempted to cheat and cause disruption in the game. Due to these incidents, a backup of the game has been restored onto a brand new server, and we are working to bring you the greatest and most secure version of the game yet. Unfortunately, due to a series of actions taken by the malicious hackers, the game has been rolled back to 8/27. If you are a new player and signed up on or after 8/27 and before 9/1 you will have to re-register. We apologize for the inconvenience. Any and all progress, including wars, cities purchased, infrastructure purchased, military units trained, etc. after 8/27 has been lost. Fortunately, you'll have a 2nd chance at things, so see if you can improve your performance from previously. Anyone who purchased Credits after 8/27 will have their credits added to their account. It's also worth noting the as it's now the 1st of September, the donation cap has been reset and each nation can once again redeem 8 more credits.
  13. Should really be the Winter War. Started in in-game winter, and it kept getting worse.
  14. The market isn't rational. People were willing to throw away food rather than sell it: and it appears there is much more food in the world this war than last war.
  15. In real life, you can't demolish and rebuild buildings overnight. This is how market gluts happen. People would be willing to accept negative food production if farms took a week to reach full production.
  16. If you can't afford to run your powerplants, your commerce rate goes to 0%.
  17. yeah, if you refresh the radiation page every fifteen minutes, you'll see that it drops.
  18. no, it turns out that this change is too positive for the game
  19. Look at the test server, if you run out of income, you can't afford to run your power plants.
  20. Negative food production correctly simulates the need for fodder.
  21. an nth root formula so it becomes unlikely that it reaches 100%
  22. https://politicsandwar.com/worldmap/nuclear/ 1,536 nuclear weapons in existence.
  23. yes, you have to nuke your opponent to reduce their population first
