  1. Any questions about the Polish political system?
  2. Poland vs Republic of Poland - 1 (happening as we speak). There is only one Poland!
  3. It is simply a theory that could provide a rationale behind the inclusion of 'Communist Monarchy' as a government type. As for the real-life application of such a concept, I say that the Juche Ideal of the DPRK is probably the closest manifestation of this government type. However, the DPRK's systematic ideological purge of socialism/communism has likewise posed a challenge to this description. Presently I would classify the DPRK as a non-bourgeois (non-market) dynastic autocracy.
  4. You are quite right about (I always tell Westerners that Poland was never communist, but rather on the socialist road to communism). I created this thread as a means of identifying why anybody would choose the government type 'Communist Monarchy'. While it may seem to constitute an oxymoron, theoretically, a monarchy could build socialism on the path to communism. It may not be Marxist-Leninist, but then again, there are other forms of true/revolutionary socialism (not democratic socialism) that might not preclude hereditary leadership of the workers' movement.
  5. Am I the only leader of a 'Communist Monarchy'? I ask this because I have not yet seen any other nation with the Communist Monarchy government type. In light of this reality, I have created this thread to identify the other Communist Monarchs of Orbis. In addition to identifying yourself, please provide the rationale behind your choice of this government type.
  6. While the Imperial Republic of Poland is happy to see such enthusiasm from abroad, the impending conflict is a purely internal affair. Foreign troops would provide excellent propaganda for the Western opponents of the Imperial Republic. Furthermore, the strength of the Imperial Armed Forces of Poland outmatches the rebellious forces. That was not the case when the rebellion enjoyed Western support. However, following the withdrawal of Western support, the Republic of Poland enclave is nearly defenceless. This is a war of attrition against the traitors, who possess only unused aircraft and lack a defined ground force.
  7. [English translation courtesy of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs] Good day, ladies and gentlemen. Today marks the first anniversary of the Imperial Republic of Poland. During the Imperial People's Ball, his Excellency delivered the following announcement. 'I come before you, the Polish People, on this joyous occasion to present a new step in our historical march. Since the Foundation of the Imperial Republic of Poland, a dreadful reality has troubled us. Rebellious fragments of our traitorous predecessors have persisted in maintaining an enclave known as the Republic of Poland (id 10020). This so-called Republic of Poland, located in the northwest of our territory, has enjoyed the support of Western states seeking to restore the liberal-capitalist order. The Imperial Soviet allowed this enclave to grow as a means of ending the Polish Revolution. Furthermore, the Polish People could not risk provoking the strong allies of this rebellious movement. However, since last month, Western support for the Republic of Poland has ended and the Polish People are much stronger than one year ago. The Republic of Poland movement is crumbling, proving this artificiality of its origins. In light of this reality, I call upon the support of the Polish People to finally end this enclave of traitors. The Imperial Armed Forces of Poland will finally demonstrate that there is one true Polish State and one true Polish People. Long live the Final Revolution, Long live the Imperial Republic, Long live the Polish People!' His Excellency then departed the ball and was last photographed during strategic meetings. Here is the photo of his Excellency during his meeting with Foreign Minister Szponderski:
  8. On behalf of the Polish People, I, Comrade-Emperor Klemens Hawicki, thank you for the good wishes on the first anniversary of the Imperial Republic of Poland
  9. [English translation courtesy of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs] Good day, ladies and gentlemen. Today marks the first anniversary of the Imperial Republic of Poland. Our Comrade-Emperor has declared that the entire week is to be dedicated to the celebration of this joyous event. His Excellency began the day by visiting the most important sites of Revolution Square. This tour culminated with the Divine Liturgy celebrated by his Eminence, the Patriarch of the Polish Orthodox Church, at the great Church of the Bogurodzica Królowa Polski. Attending the Divine Liturgy was his Excellency, the members of the Imperial Soviet, all delegates of the Oblast Imperial Chairmen and local members of the Imperial Party. Following the Divine Liturgy, his Excellency proceeded to lay flowers at the Monument of the Final Revolution. After the commemorative ceremonies, his Excellency reviewed representative divisions of the Imperial Armed forces of Poland from all military districts. Returning to the Imperial Residence, his Excellency received foreign diplomats, ambassadors, delegates and heads of state who had arrived for the celebrations of the anniversary. Russian President Vladimir V. Putin met with his Excellency in a special ceremony. President Putin made the following remarks during the reception in Warsaw. 'Under its new leadership, Poland has become the cornerstone of peace in Europe. Rejecting its former belligerency, Poland has adopted the road of a rational diplomatic rapport with its neighbours and a better sense of its place in the world. The Russian Federation is especially grateful for his Excellency's restoration of relations between the Polish and Russian states. This restoration has not merely ended the previous enmity, but has also initiated a new era of true co-operation between our people. Under Comrade-Emperor Klemens Hawicki, Poland has rediscovered the true brotherhood shared with her Russian neighbour, a brotherhood that defeated the fascist plague in 1945 and successfully rebuilt the land devastated by conflict. May our brotherhood and friendship ever grow' The United States of America did not send any representatives for the celebration. Washington press organisations published a statement from the President condemning Poland's abandonment of NATO, the EU and the principles of liberalism. The President also called for sanctions to be placed on the Polish state. Yesterday's protests in front of the American embassy, when Polish citizens pelted the building with eggs, vegetables and other small projectiles, were condemned by American politicians as having received tacit approval from the local Imperial Party. No comment has been made by the Warsaw Imperial Party. Later this evening, his Excellency will address the nation as part of the great Imperial People's Ball. In this speech the Comrade-Emperor will reveal the next great step in the development of the Polish People. This speech will be transmitted live at 19.00. Elsewhere in Poland, the Oblast and Commune leaders have staged similar celebrations of this joyous occasion. Here is a photo of his Excellency during the celebrations:
  10. I fully support this idea on one condition, that the name is changed from Orbis United Nations (OUN) to United Orbis Nations (UON). OUN is a real-world acronym representing some of the worst genocidal murderers and fascist collaborators of the Second World War.
  11. Name: Klemens Roman Hawicki Family: Roman Jan Hawicki (father, assissinated), Joanna Szponderskówna Hawicka (mother), Marian Hawicki (oldest brother), Andrzej Hawicki (elder brother) Culture: Polish Languages spoken: Polish, Russian, French, German, Czech, and English Hair colour: Light brown Eye colour: Light brown Height: 1,80m Weight: 63,5kg
  12. I really like this idea. Finally, the world would see the glory of an Orthodox Poland independent of Rome without consulting the hidden fact-book.
  13. Apart from the aforementioned criticism, I find the method too costly due to the relatively high amount of maintenance and energy that this system appears to necessitate. In Poland, executions are delivered in the following manners based on the nature of the crime: Option I. the criminal is brought, blindfolded, to an unspecified location. He is then presented before the Obwód (Oblast) Imperial Party Chairman, who pronounces the sentence. The criminal is then offered an opportunity to speak his final words and to receive a blessing from his designated religious representative (Orthodox, Jewish, or Moslem). Then he is led down a winding corridor. At a random moment during the 'walk', the commanding officer of the guard shoots the criminal in the head. Option II. If the crime was particularly disturbing or public, and in the absence of a significant security risk, the criminal is brought, blindfolded, on a scaffold in the main square of the applicable Oblast capital. The same procedure of sentence pronouncement and final blessing takes place. Then he is bound to the platform to receive the opinions of the public. This process lasts for fifteen minutes. Once the public judgement concludes, the criminal is then executed by the same person and the same method as in the first option. That being said, the Imperial Republic of Poland will not break its ideal of Samowładztwo ('self-rule'/autocracy) by intervening in Meonesian affairs. Meonesia is free to do whatever it likes. Intervention should only occur if Meonesia commits aggression against other sovereign states. (Further questions about Poland's internal policies, or the ideal of Samowładztwo can be posted under the Polish question thread).
  14. Are you actually from Eastern Europe? I only ask because I have yet to encounter a Westerner who espouses such views. Have you ever read the political opinions and theories of the Prince Klemens von Metternich? Although he was a 'reactionary' and a monarchist, von Metternich describes himself as a socialist in his 1837 correspondences. I ask because what you have presented appears perfectly aligned with his philosophy.
  15. APPLICATION Official Nation Name: The Imperial Republic of Poland (CRP) Population (P&W numbers): 1 129 180 GDP per Capita (P&W numbers): 2 918,05 Population Density (sq. km): 96,52 Form of Government: Communist Monarchy (Metternichist) Describe your Nation IC: The Imperial Republic of Poland is a sovereign state dedicated to the principles of reactionary socialism. The Imperial Republic of Poland was established on 15 June 2015, following the conclusion of the Polish Civil War (26 October 2014 - 15 June 2015). The title Imperial Republic avoids the inaccurate title of Empire (since Poland does not pursue imperialist ambitions), yet it describes the fusion of illiberal government with modern realities. Describe yourself in OOC terms: This Poland is a testbed for political ideologies. In other words, Orbis offers a means by which I can simulate my vision for the real-life Polish state. Have you read, and do you agree to abide with, the Rules? Yes (I never intend to expand or contract Poland's borders). Where on the map would you want to be located? (Using real-world geography/nations, or a self-provided map): The present-day (post-1945) borders of Poland (see any atlas or google map result).
  16. While some proposed points will obviously necessitate revision based upon test results, the idea is an excellent means by which game realism is increased.
  17. I absolutely disagree with age restrictions. However, my rationale contrasts with many of the opinions already posted on this thread. First, I do believe that more effort should be made to promote more a serious and mature tone to the game. After all, this is a political simulator. I am no advocate of banning lighthearted exchanges between leaders, since it happens in real life. What bothers me is the nature of the banter and its frequent substitution for real political roleplay. Memes, silly abbreviations, and other aspects of 'Internet humour' detract from the (presumably intended) political character of the game. One has the entire Internet to goof-off, with limitless possibilities. However, I came to this political simulator via a google search back in 2014, hoping to find a group of persons who likewise were seeking a more serious simulation of international affairs. This should be a refuge for political simulation, not another meme-generator. If the latter is true, why bother with an fitting name and format for such a game? The promotion of a more mature culture is the responsibility of the administration and moderators, especially when the players fail to display the proper manifestations of political behaviour. Now imagine that Politics&War is just like I described it, namely a place for more refined and mature nation simulation. Would it be fair to deny younger persons the opportunity to learn about politics through the experience of diplomacy, political intrigues, real ideologies (not the syncretic matter that merely exists for the sake of humour), and of course war? No, such a denial is unacceptable. Furthermore, leaders like the rather young Habillulah Sewick, display the aforementioned traits frequently deficient in many older participants in the game. Thus, while I reject this proposal to create age limits, I still acknowledge the validity of the original poster's complaint against player immaturity. As a counterproposal, I call on the game administration and moderators to actively promote a more mature and politically refined game culture through the various means at their disposal.
  18. The mere existence of a map does not make it official. Furthermore, it is more important for Poland to grow in strength and vision, regardless of the image cultivated by other states and international organisations. I can claim to be the President of the Russian Federation, yet that is an obsurdity, since I am no position to support or realise such a statement.
  19. Yes, Poland is a strong nation (although, I do not like the mockery of some Polish persons' pronunciation of English). Any more questions? I have seen very little curiosity about the Imperial Republic of Poland's political system.
  20. Only because the Imperial Republic of Poland did not follow up on the map revision. Also keep in mind, Lannan, the mapmaker, has left Orbis.
  21. Poland has sent cosmonauts into space as part of the Soviet Intercosmos programme. Brigadier general Mirosław Hermaszewski spent eight days in space aboard Salyut-6 in the summer of 1978.
  22. I am not a fan of internet humour.
  23. There are Jews in Poland (national factbook provides exact statistics). The sharp decrease in the population of Polish Jews was the tragic result of the monstrous occupation of Poland by the Third Reich between 1939 and 1945. The present Imperial Republic of Poland designates Judaism, along with Polish Orthodoxy and Tatar Sunni Islam, as the traditional religions of Poland.
  24. Officially, quite positive, particularly after the She Kaqirase ov Khevin joined a mutual alliance with the Polish state.
  25. Seeing how nation 'question and answer' sessions have come into vogue, I present the official thread to indulge and satisfy curiosities about Poland and its leader.
