  1. Industrialized? No. But the rest is up to each person's opinion. I have a hard time with the word "culture" And I do accept the concept of the Noble Savage. I also am not offended by anything you have said ether, however I feel you are coming close to pretty much saying that Native Genocide is acceptable because the US was victorious, which does offend. We as US citizens do not condone genocide in any nation, but when it came to applying manifest destiny here in our history, it is overlooked and considered accepting because "we" did it.
  2. Predominantly, the US conquered through political deception, not by conflicts. Treaties from the US are meant to be broken apparently, and all politicians lie.
  3. I guess I will do mine then. I only made a general assumption based on typicals when I initially made my first post. The more freedom people have, the more Left leaning people are. The more Authoritarian/Totalitarian people demand, the more Right leaning. Liberalism is not a dirty word to the world. All it means is seeking out free, open choices for the individual. Originally, to be a Conservative meant to stand with the Crown, or the Status Quo. American Forefathers were Classical Liberals, seeking out free choices without everything requiring the Government consent of the Crown. Centrism is loking for a balance, which fluctuates rapidly and is constantly changing with, sadly, media interests in my point of view. So, for humors sake: Far Right: Communists, Strict Monarchies, Fascists, Joe Biden, Rick Santorum Right: Democrats, Republicans, Socialists, Bernie Sanders Center-Right: Tea Party Republicans, Blue Democrats, Constitutionalists with an agenda, Rand Paul Center: Green, Pot Party, Reformists, George Takei Center-Left: Constitutionalists without an agenda, Gary Johnson Left: Libertarians, Paulbots Far Left: Anarchists, Lysander Spooner, Samuel Edward Konkin III
  4. I have. Only reason she died was because she was in a gun-free zone at the time. She normally carried and she knew how to use one well.
  5. Before I make my vote, could we find the universal definitions of the whole Left-Right paradigm? I have a feeling many do not know or they play into a lot of assumptions about what constitutes the Left and/or Right. Many may associate Conservative with Right/Liberal for Left. I assume people believe: Right = Greedy, Rich, Selfish, Corporate, Capitalist, Conservative Bastards with Guns. Left = Socialist, Tree Hugging, Liberal, High Taxing, Wealth Distributing Gits with Central Planning Committees. Centrist = Politically dis-satisfied Assclowns who vote for who is going to win, not for who best represents them. If you have anything to add, change or whatnot, lets find the best definitions as a community.
  6. Technically Moon Man violated nothing except voicing his own opinion regarding his take on a faith. This is a Debate section of the forums. Reporting his post because you disagree does nothing except show thin skin. Moon Man's opinions, however asinine you may take them, are arguments against accepting Islam as a faith in many people's views. It is just the same as every attack made upon Jesus' divinity, birth, death, resurrection, ascension, Catholic pedophile jokes, Eucharistic transubstantiation, etc. the list can go on.
  7. This thread keeps getting better and better every time I read it.
  8. Ah, I thought you guys were like role-playing elves or something.
  9. That is all up to the Alliance themselves, not the game creator and designers.
  10. Hate Speech is protected in the United States. The issues are the definitions which change decade after decade. Most cases of Hate Speech brought to court end up defining the law every decade or so.
  11. Oddly I am able to recite, almost entirely, Ozymandias by Percy Bysshe Shelley. It makes for cruel torture when discussing American Politics with election events where I get to meet upcoming candidates I think are full of shyte.
  12. Youtube videos of Christians, Heathens, Buddhists and Jews reciting sacred texts are not a common posting. If you do not accept my word on what I have said, which many can attest to is true, that is your decision. However it is accepted that as a single practice; Benedictines are well known for reciting the Psalms from memory, Chief Maggids of Jerusalem recite the Torah by memory; Therevada Buddhists are exceptionally known for their recitation of the entire Tripitaka/Pali Cannons. From experience I have traveled and met multiple monastics among the Orthodox Christian communities abroad and many were known for their incredible insight into Theosis and knowledge of their sacred texts from the Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew as well as memory of recitation- in their humility they never bragged of their knowledge but maintained meekness and compassion for others. ALso in my crossings I have met many Asatru and Heathens who have put to memory the Havamal and the Eddas, as it is a practice among the Asatru to recite the texts among their Blots. It is common to sing the Eddas and the Havamal in the Norse tongue. Evidence? My eyes. If you accept my word- cool. If not, I really do not sweat it. After all in your faith I am doomed to Hell and not worthy to live now anyways.
  13. The Benedictines, the Franciscans, the Monks of Mt. Athos, the Egyptian Alexandrians, the Tewahedo Monks, the Syriac Monastics- dozens of monastics and ascetics I personally know have memorized multiple, some the entire Septuagint and Latin canons, a few have with the Aramaic Peshitta. Christianity is not limited to just the Protestants and Evangelicals. Orthodox Christianity makes up half of the faith, and Hesychasm is accepted in the East which includes honest devotion and strong adherence to meditation of Sacred Scripture. Many Asatru I know have memorized the entire works of the Havamal, the Prose and Poetic Eddas in its original Norse tongue. These texts are their religious books and they firmly believe in them as to be Sacred. It is common to find Rebbe who have memorized the Entire Torah and Psalms in the Hebrew tongue. It is a practice for some sects of Brahmists to memorize the entire Bhagavad Gita. Many Therevada Buddhists put to memory the entire Tripitaka so they can use the texts as an extensive, meditative mantra. And then we have Traditional oral teachings which have been put to memory from Native American practices varying from tribe to tribe, people to people. Sadly, I know many Muslims who claim that Islam has many that memorize the entire Koran. I have yet to meet one who actually has even memorized a single chapter and I lived around a large metropolis surrounded by a huge Persian community for half my life.
  14. All religious texts have been memorized by thousands upon thousands of its zealous followers. And all religions have their messes regardless if you want to believe it or not. Facts are the world knows it and most accept it. There is nothing different from Judaism, Christianity and Islam when it comes to adherents, followers and the zeal behinds its over-zealous bigots as well as its huge messes, differences in interpretations of textual criticisms and those who choose to ignore tenets or adhere to the rule of literalism which usually means others should die or suffer for being "infidels, blasphemers or apostates". So if you hold Islam to the highest tenets and say it is innocent of being "messy", you are just as blind and hypocritical to your own faith as the Christians and Jews that you consider are blind and hypocritical to theirs.
  15. In my experiences with other people of faith, virtually most do not know what they believe except what has been told to them by others who interpret their faith based on their own conclusions. The few who actually know what their faith and practices are all about are almost never on the internet to share or express it, mainly due to the latter.
  16. Could someone delete the post, then the poster in game?
  17. We do not have to agree with anything or anyone here. No one nation or alliance has a say as to the standards set by each individual nation or alliance in this world. This is one of the most ridiculous threads this game has seen, and that in itself is an impressive feat to accomplish. If an alliance wants to extend its protection to the nations applying to join said alliance that is their choice to let the world of Orbis know or not. You, however, do not have any control over this, nor does anyone else when it is not your nation or alliance.
