Proposed Reform of the Crimes Against the Royal Shield

During his interview, First Prince Ericson has stated that he had an idea to help reform the system that is meant to punish those under what he has now started calling the Royal Shield. He has spoken to a press conference in Omni about what this new reform would bring.

  • introduction of prison time instead of exile or execution for more serious crimes against the royal shield while a fine will also be applied to the more minor crimes.
  • the one who was attacked being given the choice to recommend a sentence for recommendation as long as it is within reason.
  • a prison built for those who are charged with a crime against the royal shield, one for female offenders, another for males.
  • if one does try to escape from prison, they risk adding to their sentence at least to the worst being exiled
  • if one commits a crime in the attempt to escape, the severity of the crime could put the prisoner at risk of execution
  • if one wishes to appeal their crime against the royal shield, a special court set up by the royal family itself will made. Lawyers and judges hired will be given the power to call possible bias that could occur.
  • as long as it doesn't involve a weapon, assault on someone of the royal shield will be treated in a civilian manner (suggestion brought by Second Princess Gem)

Empress Amaryllis has expressed interest in the law, and while she will have to review it, there is a good chance it will be made official.

We condemn Wintery for having no prison before this and either killing or exiling there criminals.

We accept all nonviolent Wintery offenders.

A prison system was established, the exile or execution was for crimes against the royal shield and even then it was for the more violent crimes (attempted murder for example). Things like assault would result in jail time, just expect it to be longer than if you were to attack a civilian
