We'll you've got the right font for treaties anyway, if your name is Tenages. I reckon this is a 7.4, semi-illegible.

Basically the leaders of the alliances agree with each other following discussion, and make a piece of paper saying what their agreement is, outlining points and clauses, and then they sign it.

It's usually public on these forums, and is witnessed by the community.

There are no game consequences for breaking a treaty, but obviously people will be less keen to sign treaties with alliances which are known for breaking their word.

Generally self interest keeps alliances aligned, along with personal relationships between leaders and cultural similarities between alliances.

The type of treaty is usually determined by the relative size and strength of both groups, the desired level of commitment and the closeness of the leaders.

There are a bunch of treaties which are essentially friendship agreements and non binding, then there are:

Non aggression pacts (NAP): alliances agree not to fight one another

Protectorate: alliance A agrees to protect alliance B. Sometimes protectorates fight for their protector though not always. Sometimes they pay for protection though not always.

Mutual defence pact (MDP): Two alliances in the same rough tier agree to fight anyone who attacks either signatory.

You also have blocs which tend to, but not always, fight together offensively as well as defensively. I don't think there are any treaties obliging people to attack, though protectorates are almost always drawn into battles by their protector these days. Unless they have two protectors.

Like a physical piece of paper? What would happen if they are across the world? Where can I witness other alliances treaty?

No I mean a post in this forum. You can find most of them in the alliance affairs forum, and there's a treaty Web there and in the game too under "alliances"
