Censorship in General [DEBATE]

IDF actually has legit reasons of what it did in Gaza. ISIS does not have any reasons, furthermore; it's a break off divison of ISIS. And let's keep this topic Censorship, no IDF or ISIS topics please.

I just gave you the reason why IS is doing what it's doing. And there is no "break off division of IS."

Islamic State was formed from the "Islamic State of Iraq" which was formed via the Mujahadeen Shura Council which as formed from various different Salafist groups in Iraq that emerged when we invaded.

The IDFs reasons for massacring civilians is because they believe in a Jewish religious state in Palestine, because some guy named Moses talked to god one day and led a genocidal mob through a dessert, finally stopping somewhere and claiming the land was the god given right of the Jewish people, even though there were already people living there.

I get the impression you couldn't keep up with me on a debate about the middle east. So you could reply to my comment about censorship if you want.

This was never a debate about ISIS, and what I meant to say was "ISIS is a break off divison of Al-qaida". So please; keep the middle east debate out of this. It's alright to make a reference about it in censorship, but this a entirely a censorship debate.

I was debating about censorship. You're the one who chose to reply to what I said about IS and not what I said about censorship... :/

The Government (I am assuming you are talking about USA) doesnt do much censoring. Due to our private sector dominance, most censoring is done by private corporations, for example I cannot say !@#$ here.

The government of the US does indeed censor and does it quite effectively.  It might let people watch sexually explicit and violent images but as far as reporting about itself censorship is alive and well in this nation.  Anything that makes the Federal government look bad is censored for 'national security'.  Always has been that way since World War I and will always be that way.  Not a bash of either Bush or Obama.  It is what it is.  Try to get information about local government workings and you have to go to court and file a 'Freedom of Information' request that will slow the release of the information until it is not relevant.  Anything that makes law enforcement look bad is censored in this way as well.  Of all the Western 1st world nations the US is probably the most censored of them all.

In most cases, yes.

I'm guessing you're all in America given none of you brought up the recent censorship in the UK. Recently the regulatory body for film making in the UK has censored the production of porn, pretty sure that'll get censored videos of people getting frisky. The things they've censored however are sexist, they're things that traditionally women take more pleasure from. Censorship becomes a way of holding people down if you don't let them express themselves, and it can be quite easy to say someone elses views are harmful and wrong.
