When someone is attacking you in a war ( you don't have the military capabilities to defeat him), and a partner from a different nation helps you, so both of your military's add up to overpower him. Shouldn't you be able to defeat him?

Peace will never be accomplished without war, but war cannot happen without peace.... or something like that idk

In most cases, you'd come out victorious in a 2 v 1 with no outside aid. The opponent would simply become drained of money and resources, eventually leading to their demise.

I disagree, Iodine, because if both sides are losing a significant amount of troops, say the attacker is doing 200% more damage, then the attacker is coming out with loot, destroying the defenders' infra, and taking out the amount they can reinforce while sustaining the same amount of casualties. The defenders could have troops equal to the attacker's amount, but not be able to coordinate which causes the problem because if you attack a larger army with two smaller armies, you have larger losses than if you attacked the larger army with both armies combined.

I think 2v1 strategies aren't going to work in the conventional way, necessarily, for the reason that Nao stated. However, if you had for example each nation focus on one aspect of military (air force, navy, ground force) you ought to be able to out-do the nation that is trying to cover all 3 fronts. For example, nation A is fighting nations B and C. Nation A has a fair amount of troops, aircraft, and ships. Nation B focuses mainly on his airforce, sacraficing his ground force abilities to win in the air. Nation C focuses on ground force, sacraficing his air force capabilities. Nation B beats down Nation A's tank force with his aircraft, allowing Nation C to win on the ground and turn the tides of the war.

Basically, cooperation requires a little more strategy than "let's just combine numbers", but I think it's totally doable.
