German Gibraltar Operation

Tuesday, September 19th,

As German Troops moved into Genoa, Tanks and fake encampments were created all over Italy. The German Panzers were full of helium, being transported by humans walking across the plains and mountains, the German Military had also supported these fake encampments by using old frequencies easily breakable by intelligence forces.

Throughout the Week, Germany had released public statements, detailing deployments to Venice and Italy which for the most part were fabricated. The German Helicopter Crash was a calculated crash, allowing both pilots to eject and be retrieved by GROM Special Operators in Venice.

Monday, September 25th,

A German ATLAS flew out of Genoa. Carrying 32 GROM Special Operators, the ATLAS would climb to 25,000 feet, The Atlas had a surface ceiling of 40,000 ft. Flying away from Spanish Radar, the Airbus A400 began to descend to 20,000 ft. Still undetected by enemy radar, the Operations jumped from the A400. Free falling for some time, they began to make it to the surface of Gibraltar. Pulling their chutes, they glided to the coast. The German SMDS Nadine and her carrier strike group were positioned off the coast of Spain, using the coral to mask their presence.

German Marines aboard Ospreys flew to Gibraltar. German Special Operators had already arrived, taking the key airport and port. The German Assualt Craft Mystery deployed light armor for the German Troops.

German Special Forces captured the town hall, there were little to no resistance. Gibraltar Local Police had been disarmed, and the locals had been asked to stay indoors. The Governor of Gibraltar was asked to meet President Wolf in The German Island Retreat to discuss the handover of Gibraltar to Germany.

German Ships moved into port, with the airport at hand. German Air-Air Missiles and Anti-Missile systems were being prepped for deployment. The SMDS Nadine and 1,400 Marines steamed to Genoa to finish their leg of the mission.

The several layered bands of radar that the corporation used to monitor the Gibraltar strait were easily able to detect the A400 and the presents dropped from it, due to being literally only a few miles away and under careful observation since Evenstar's collapse. It was unexpected but not something that could be acted on with certainty, and so observation continued. The movements of the carrier group and attendant flotilla however, were something that could be acted upon and the German vessels would encounter the multiple carrier groups that had made their ports in the Tangier district of the company's territory, having been patrolling the western med and watching the German movements from afar for quite some time. The corporation's forces in Morocco were already on high alert, and this simply escalated their preparedness, with plans for a full scale invasion prepared if required.

AWACS began patrolling from Morocco to twenty nautical miles south of the German base in Italy, down to Tunis and back, keeping tabs on anything that may be of note. Sonobouys would be deployed by the three carrier groups that would stop the German fleets advance before they were able to land more troops in Gibraltar, to ensure no stealthy subs were laying in wait in the area. A short burst transmission was delivered before full electronic warfare was enacted.

"Out of respect to your claim to be neutral, though your reinforcement of Britannian's colony says otherwise, you're being warned rather than fired upon. You know better than this, withdraw immediately from Gibraltar. The territory will remain unoccupied or be returned to the Spanish, else I shall consider it to be enemy territory and act accordingly."

By the time German Ships entered the Mediterranean last week, the German Naval Command was aware that they would probably never be able to leave. The SMDS Nadine would be steaming to Genoa to make port, where the SMDS Liberace would be running peaceful drills across the West Mediterranean. The Liberace would wait with for the Nadine

The German Fleet Commander on the SMDS Nadine intercepted the hails. While the Marines had departed, and his mission was to return to Genoa at all costs, he accepted the hail.

"This is Commander Fischer of the Royal Navy. While I am not politicians, I am a patriot. If you put me between my country, and you yourself are a patriot you will know the answer. We are not afraid to die, and so be it I will take every ship I can down with me.

Reubenia declares support for Germany in this operation. We would like to request that MoG[Corp] explain how German occupation of Gibraltar threatens their interests. We respectfully but firmly advise MoG[Corp] to back down.

Private message to Germany

If you agree, we would be interested in sharing Gibraltar along with you for potential military cooperation exercises. We would also be interested in stationing some of our navy there, with your blessings.

"We encourage Ruebania to remain nuetral in a conflict that they have no stake in. Butting into such a conflict can have dire rammifications. I truly do hope that, as a new nation, you recognize this and keep uninvolved."

We will remain neutral militarily. However, we will almost always support democracy, and Germany is a democracy.

The three fleets in the Gibraltar area would begin active sonar, making their positions known for about 50km surrounding themselves, but allowing them vision of the same. There was still room for a diplomatic resolution and a response was sent to the german admiral.

p"I would suggest you pass our message along to your political superiors then, as we do not intend on allowing you to make port in Gibraltar."

Aboard the SMDS Nadine,

Sir! Contact. 232 Nautical Miles...Enemy Fleet, Carrier Strike Groups.

Can we classify the ships?

Negative Sir.

XO, what is your opinion.

Sir, we should notify the Naval Command

We should hold. Inform Command, get me a line to Rostock and Berlin now. Form defensive posture, and keep us near the coast.

Commander Sasha Hannover graduated in 2003 from the Koenigsberg War College. Commander Hannover commanded the German Third Quick Reaction Force. Comprising of the 82nd Fallschirmjäger Regiment, 3rd Marine Regiment, and 101st Ranger Regiment, Commander Hannover had been deployed to Sweden in 2017 and to India in 2014.

Serving in Sweden and India, the open vast fields allowed more armor-dense units to move aggressively. Commander Hannover had led an entire QRF to hold off an enemy Armor Division in Copenhagen as allied troops moved to hold onto major gains by Major Ericson and Major Himkraft.

Upon landing in Gibraltar, Hannover stationed her tanks and light armor into covered and rear locations to be undercover from enemy air watch and artillery. Her headquarters would be between the Infantry line and rear guard. Her Command Center had a direct overview of the docks, giving her the capability to direct troops where needed.

2,400 German Marines, 1,200 Paratroopers, and 20 tanks protected Gibraltar. While there were 5 VTOLS at an airfield, it would be practically impossible to reinforce or withdraw the entire Force.

Marines were stationed at the various ports and cross roads. Armed with the standard LA5A2 and L86SW, they would be providing suppression and holding down the enemy invaders. Commander Hannover had placed her airborne troops across the northern and eastern regions. Because the Paratroopers were armed with sniper rifles and anti-air missiles, they would protect the troops from encirclement and air landings. The E Company and D Company of the 82nd would also be at the HQ to reinforce the Marines at Landing Point Alpha if needed.

Without air power, the force would rely on their enemies failure and acts of god. The Cloudy weather and Humidity made things harder for the defenders, however. It would allow the Defenders to remain much more concealed from UAV’s not using thermal and inferred. It also gave them an advantage when enemy forces would attempt to land on the ports.

Some 400 Marines and 200 Paratroopers formed a rear-vanguard to protect the flanks and provide a retreat/cover line if and when needed.

Her Excellency Emma Wolf sends her highest of regards for how the MoG[Corp] has handled the current situation in Gibraltar. Germany is open to diplomatic dialogue with The Mogotopia, and would like to reiterate our Neutrality in the conflict between Britannia and MoG[Corp]. We invite a delegation from the MoG[Corp] to Berlin to discuss the current status of the region. During this time, we will not alter the Gibraltar Social,Economic, and Military structure to ensure that mutual respect and trust can be established.
