Vicente Martinez Posted May 14, 2017 Share Posted May 14, 2017 (edited) Continuing with the country's 15 year long period of economic and scientific expansion, the governmental Department of Nuclear Development has received government funding to produce more uses for the abundant amount of radioactive materials produced mainly in southern Brazil. Research is ordered to focus primarily on clean energy sources in an effort to decrease fossil fuel dependency. The plan is to implement the new power plants in major cities before dispatching them throughout the entire country. The second priority of the research funding will go towards weapon proliferation. New types of warheads made to fit on ICBMs and MRBMs are the government's main order. Once developed, they will be built under license by Aeropal partly because the new warheads will also go into aircraft based use,and Aeropal is producing new tactical bombers and strike aircraft for the Air Force. The government,with this new finding,hopes to increase energy diversity and energy independence,and cut down on oil usage,a large reason for the particularly rare usage of uranium in Brazil is that many large reserves are based in natural reserves,however the government plans to address this by announcing some reforms to increase uranium production without endangering the environment. Meanwhile, we hope the Brazilian Government use their nuclear for peaceful purposes only. We also would like to remind the Brazilian Government to increase attention on Nuclear Security.
