PresidentRiley
This may be a stupid idea... but let's see, and I have nothing better to do. Also could get good ideas out of people. I have no idea where this is going.... I will name this the suggestion game. Here are the Rules: -1 Suggestion per reply. -Friendly Critique -No Rude Comments -Suggestions make sense(please try to make sense, we're helping sheepy) -Have to work with the person above you reply (unless its been over 15 topics and/or a lot of people want the topic changed of the same suggestion, one/many can state a change and try a new topic suggestion like for ex: we're talking about cake, and 15 topics bammm. I change it to nuclear wepons) -I strongly Suggest 1 person reply and then wait for another to reply -I strongly suggest you friendly critique the reply above you, not someone 30 posts before yours. How To Play: -You friendlily critique the above reply and add on to it -after 15 topics you can change the suggestion (don't have to) -Have fun Everyone here has voice, let it free! These rules and how to play can change of course this is really me testing it. Heres the first topic: What resources should each building cost. Maybe a steel mil should cost iron and coal Quote It was not me who put those horrible pictures, or that horrible signature.
SoS
Then there would be too much demand for iron and coal. Too many nations would populate iron and coal continents after reset. Nations that don't produce iron and coal would fall behind those that do. To make it fair, improvements should require iron, coal, lead, bauxite, and oil. Only a small quantity of each, though. Abrican
I think the general cost would be too high then, as people don't (usually) sell resources like that in exceptionally tiny bundles. Although, I guess the game market would change based on peoples demand, so good suggestion I believe each production building should always cost one resource for it's production, or use, that can't be found in any single continent. IE oil and iron to build a steel mill, iron and coal to run it.
PresidentRiley
Ah yes but maybe aluminum factory will cost iron and bauxite you have to think realistically of the building structure would be out of like iron Quote It was not me who put those horrible pictures, or that horrible signature. Solomon
In a free market, business moves to the area that is most beneficial to it. As a result, imbalances in the supply-demand relationship are automatically corrected. The equivalent in this game would be to allow people to move to a different continent, maybe with a cost such as 5 days cash/resource income for the move in order to model the disruption to the business. If you did this, you wouldn't need to micromanage resource production and requirements.
PresidentRiley
that would make it too easy to play the game as you don't have to do anything, and its our nations government stockpile, not the domestic stockpile that would mean we would have to buy from companies that don't even exist D: Quote It was not me who put those horrible pictures, or that horrible signature. Administrators Alex Posted March 16, 2014 Administrators Share Posted March 16, 2014 Not to hijack your discussion, but for alliance improvement costs they're going to use Aluminum and Steel because every continent has either Iron or Bauxite. There's already a major thread where costs were pretty much decided, I just have to make the change. http://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/852-improvements-require-aluminum-andor-steel-to-build/ Quote Is there a bug?
