Hereno
Seldom seen or heard from by many, the Hierophant was an inter-dimensional traveler of both time and space. His Bottle, that little experiment in paradise, had been coming along nicely. Tall cities speckled the glass as their lights speckled over the midnight horizon. A grand, red sea divided the settlements, but also unified them in both situation and purpose. An autocracy of anarchy, governed by one for all. Each independent, completely autonomous city, was directly accountable only to the Commander himself. A god both by proportion and power, he nevertheless refused to take any formal title except "Commander", expressing his delegated power to command from those he commanded. With all accountable only to one, and he a world apart, God effortlessly allowed mankind to give itself paradise. But then, just as he glanced over, things took a turn for the worst. Bombs, planes, and bodies littered the landscape. The wine became a trench coat for a massacre. Jackboots surrounded the glass on all sides and demanded the heads of civilization itself in their quest for order. It was then, they say, in that hour of darkness, that the Hierophant stepped into our dimension once more. The sands of time flew forward, but all remained the same. The leadership, corrupt. The people, in a daze. And the economy? It waxed and waned. Like the tide, it couldn't be explained.Liberty created through its absolute antithesis: the existence of a mortal deity and a binary hierarchy. Will the Bottle survive the thirst of the masses? In their large alliances, with their vast webs? Prouder civilizations have been strangled in Hellfire. Greater worlds have since plunged into cold, static darkness. But nothing is ever certain when alcohol is involved. Edited February 15, 2016 by Hierophant
