I'll be honest, I initially typed up a whole response about the benefits of being in a good alliance because reading this thread I could've sworn you were some newbie who didn't understand how alliances work
  3. Why only gasoline? Couldn't you heat your population with any other energy resource, such as nuclear power?
  4. Title may be a bit wonky but here's what I mean. Here are the default military images you see now when you open your military page to buy soldiers, etc. What if these images were replaced with whatever images you chose in the Customize Military page? I refer to these which you can see in your nation page (and when you order attacks in wars) but nowhere else. In my case they would be custom images, but even non-VIP users have a good list of default images to choose from - it would be a fun cosmetic change to be able to see your selections more often.
  5. I like some of these, but no to 4. Radiation is not a problem, just stockpile on food like everyone else.
  6. I think that would overload the game servers. We already lose access to some of the features every two hours, imagine if we had to deal with that all the time
  7. It’s almost time for Mardi Gras, but before we get there, Bourbon Street has turned 1 today. It’s been a super eventful year, full of ups and downs. We've welcomed some great new members and said our heartfelt goodbyes to some who've moved on. We've had a great, vibrant year and we're looking forward to what our next brings us. And in honor of our new year, we'd like to unveil our new flag. To everyone else, we’d like to welcome you down to enjoy our iconic brass bands, colorful street performers, and vibrant nightlife, there's always something exciting happening on this legendary street. Take a stroll down Bourbon and immerse yourself in the electrifying atmosphere. Stop by one of the many legendary bars and sip on a signature hurricane cocktail as you soak up the sounds of jazz, blues, and zydeco music. Don't miss the chance to try some of the delicious Creole cuisine that the city is famous for. From jambalaya to gumbo, you're in for a culinary adventure that'll tantalize your taste buds. Be sure to stop by and grab a mouth watering beignet from Hannah’s café. So gather your friends, put on your dancing shoes, and join in on the fun on Bourbon Street. It's a celebration that you'll never forget!
  8. Fair, but imagine how much worse it would be if all those alliances were also democracy fanatics
  9. You make interesting points here, but I wanted to mention one point in particular: This seems like a strange way to phrase the issue. "Democracy" would just allow the most charismatic and arrogant idiot to take charge and likely run things to the ground. I think what you meant is more the realm of scouting or meritocracy. Alliances would have better success if gov members actively seek talent within their membership and help train members who are interested in volunteering. Being more open to giving interested members a chance to show what they can do would be a good way to keep the ones with potential on your side and let new ideas have a chance in even the most established of communities.
  10. Adding onto this, in this game there are many times where instant communication is absolutely necessary. Consider wartime, when you need to be able to coordinate attacks in real-time. That kind of instant communication could make the difference in overpowering a stronger enemy, not getting your alliance bank looted, or deterring raiders. Discord also lets you create specialized channels with different permissions, which is useful if you want to create a confidential space for gov to discuss matters, or generally filter out casual conversation from important things like banking, city-building guides, etc. Discord is certainly not the only solution - there are alternatives like Slack that do the job. But the point is forums or in-game communication just aren't "instant" enough, for a lack of a better term, to handle all the kinds of communication necessary to run an alliance well. It just so happens that most alliances use it, so for the sake of making communication between alliances more convenient, I would recommend it as the best choice.
  11. I don't think this is the right place for this thread, but I think you're referring to color spheres, which the wiki can explain better than I could: https://politicsandwar.fandom.com/wiki/Color
  12. I see now it's supposed to be a mountain, but for the longest time I thought it was cartoon hair

We have an etiquette in this forum not to revive old posts from months ago. You're obviously welcome to read up on anything you wish, but we would appreciate it if you don't add new comments as that brings the threads back to the top. Since you're a new player I figure I should let you know
  14. Congrats on the rebrand! Sad to see the commitment to the theme, but the new flag looks sick
  15. Voting for the name of your color bloc is, safe to say, an inherently alliance-related matter. Certain alliances and blocs have always coordinated to get certain names to represent their color sphere. I think this alliance coordination aspect should be more explicit. Idea: The alliance control panel should have a section that lets gov (etc.) members see what color name each member voted for. This would create a much easier way for alliances (or blocs) to coordinate certain color names and find out who's not in compliance. Currently, it involves sending a message to the whole alliance and hoping people out of compliance are paying attention. This makes you can see which color name each member voted for.
