VALKO'S SPEECH IN KHEVIN

With many political leaders and important people in Khevin this week, it has been a busy time, especially in the Khevinist capital. During the celebrations in Tokiaqitm a year after the end of the Khevinist Civil War, our very own President Valko made a speech regarding the SARF:

"Hello, people of Khevin, and people of Orbis. I am President Dimitri Valko of the ASR, otherwise known as the Authoritarian State of Ryas, close allies and neighbours with Khevin. I am glad to get to meet all of you in person. Tonight, I am to speak in simple English, that way everyone here tonight can understand my words. I am here to speak about the SARF, their cold-hearted regime, and just to generally argue against what they stand for. There are a number of reasons the Shiite Anarchist Revolutionary Front isn't telling us as to why it wants to cultivate networks of snitches and spies to ensure that any unity against it can immediately be nipped in the bud. In this letter, I will expose those reasons one-by-one, on the principle that it is lacking in the social graces. Am I being unduly harsh for writing that? I think not. When the religious leaders in Jesus's time were wrong, Jesus denounced them in extremely harsh terms. So why shouldn't I, too, use extremely harsh terms to indicate that I have never read reasoning more absurd or sophistry more gross than that used by the SARF to convince people that it's a saintly figure—philanthropic, noble, and wise? Most of you listening to me right now have your hearts in the right place. Now follow your hearts with actions."

"The SARF wants to rub salt into our wounds. What's wrong with that? What's wrong is the SARF's gossamer grasp of reality. Come to think of it, where did the SARF learn how to marginalise dissident voices? At the intersection of Leninism Avenue and Sectarianism Lane? My point is that they claim that its opinions represent the opinions of the majority—or even a plurality. Perhaps it has some sound arguments on its side, but if so it's keeping them hidden. I'd say it's far more likely that the SARF is trying to brainwash us. It wants us to believe that it's sordid to pronounce an enlightened and just judgment upon it; that's boring; that's not cool. You know what I think of that, don't you? I think that the caricature that often passes today for a critique of the SARF's campaigns of terror assumes that the SARF is a tireless protector of civil rights and civil liberties for all people. This caricature has been proven wrong historically. The reality is that the SARF has remarked that you and I are objects for it to use then casually throw away and forget like old newsprint that's performed its duty catching bird droppings. This is a comment that should chill the spine of anyone with moral convictions. To make sure you understand I'll spell it out for you. For starters, I'd like to remind you of something. One of the great leaders of our time recently made this statement: “What really gets my goat is knowing that residents of other countries are awed that an organization so wedded to solipsism can rise to such prominence here.†I confess to similar sentiments, but there's always the chance that the SARF's clueless demands cause death by a thousand blows. While no one blow is strong enough, together they alter laws, language, and customs in the service of regulating social relations."

"Imagine how different Orbis would be if the SARF could fuel the fires of hatred whenever it felt like it. You know what? I am convinced that there will be a strong effort on the SARF's part to create a regime of doctrinaire misoneism before the year is over. This effort will be disguised, of course. It will be cloaked in deceit, as such efforts always are. That's why I'm informing you that the SARF is guilty of a shocking display of dishonesty and sophistry. An obvious parallel from a different context is that we've tolerated its voluble inveracities long enough. It's time to lose our patience and chill our kindness. It's time to dole out acerbic criticism of the SARF and its phalanx of vexatious associates. It's time to shout to the world that if it succeeds in its attempt to violate strongly held principles regarding deferral of current satisfaction for long-term gains, it'll have to be over my dead body.
We've all heard the SARF yammer and whine about how it's being scapegoated again, the poor dear. The SARF definitely wants me to have an identity crisis. If I did, I'm sure the chortles from the SARF and its coven would be rich and prolonged, especially given how the SARF has been effecting complete and total control over every human being on the planet. How can it perpetrate such an outrage against public propriety and decency? Let me answer from my own personal perspective: As many of you know, I realised a long time ago that the SARF's self-fulfilling prophecies are dangerous to the health of a democracy. I challenge it to move from its broad derogatory generalizations to specific instances to prove otherwise."

"The SARF's fantasy is to make excessive use of foul language. It dreams of a world that grants it such a freedom with no strings attached. Welcome to the world of exclusivism! In that nightmare world it has long since been forgotten that the SARF has gone around the bend with its paranoia. Please re-read and memorise that sentence if you still believe that my bitterness at the SARF is merely the latent projection of libidinal energy stemming from self-induced anguish.
When I first became aware of the SARF's covert invasion into our thought processes, all I could think was how the SARF is a diabolic spiv. I use that label only when it's true. If you don't believe it is, then consider that the SARF's hirelings don't represent an ideology. They don't represent a legitimate political group of people. They're just flat antisocial. If you think that the SARF is inflexibly honest, thoroughly patriotic, and eminently solicitous to promote, in all proper ways, the public good, then think again. What I am getting at is this: The SARF's anhedonic view of life leads it to cause an increase in disease, Zendicism, crime, and vice. I suppose it reckons that if it's irritable and cranky, then everyone else should be, too. The sad thing about that is that the SARF was once confronted by someone who wanted to open students' eyes, minds, hearts, and souls to the world around them. It responded by using our weaknesses to its advantage. Such a disproportionate response suggests a psyche in action, the mindset of an organization that has nursed resentments for many years within the artificial haven of a homogeneous band of saturnine bottom-feeders."

"Here, too, we can see how we can no longer afford to do nothing about the SARF's scary activities. Instead, we must strike while the iron is hot and challenge gnosticism and thereby create the possibility of justice and fairness in our society. The problem with the SARF is not that it's abysmal. It's that it wants to weaken our mental and moral fiber. Do I want the SARF to place stumbling blocks in front of those of us who seek value and fulfilment in our personal and professional lives? No, thank you very much; I would much rather deliver new information about the SARF's perverted announcements."

"Here's a thought experiment for those of you who still think that we can stop tammanyism merely by permitting government officials entrée into private homes to search for confused wallies: Imagine that a supernatural being came to you and, by way of a meandering Platonic dialogue, tried to convince you that violence and prejudice are funny. You'd astonishedly blurt out, “But if unrealistic carpers really believed in equality, they wouldn't compromise the free and open nature of public discourse.†And that's the key point: Its stooges are quick to point out that because it is hated, persecuted, and repeatedly laughed at, the SARF is the real victim here. The truth is that, if anything, the SARF is a victim of its own success—a success that enables those damned terrorists to vandalise Khevinist neighbourhoods and kill their government's authority."

"The SARF should clarify its point so people like you and me can tell what the heck they're talking about. Without clarification, the SARF's conjectures sound lofty and include some emotionally charged words but don't really seem to make any sense. The first lies that the SARF told us were relatively benign. Still, they have been progressing. And they will continue to progress until there is no more truth; its lies will grow until they blot out the sun. Stick your nose into anything the SARF has written recently, and you'll get a good whiff of brain-damaged immoralism."

"If anti-intellectualism were an Olympic sport, the SARF would clinch the gold medal. If history follows its course, it should be evident that I find it humorous that the SARF fancies itself as a surfer on the wave of the future when in fact it has declared that it's staging a revolt against everyone who dares to push the boundaries of knowledge ever farther. The SARF is revolting all right; the very sight of it turns my stomach. All kidding aside, I don't know what bothers me most about it. Is it its specious arguments, its illogical reasoning, its obscurantist claims, its unreasonable speculations, or any of the many forms of pseudoscholarship we see in its perversions? In any case, the SARF has been offering crapulous infelicific-types a lot of money to transform intellectual dialogue into ideological indoctrination. This is blood money, plain and simple. Anyone thinking of accepting it should realise that the SARF is astonishingly evil. However, as the Buddha remarked, there has to be evil so that good can prove its purity above it. I'm sure that if the Buddha lived in modern times, though, he'd also comment on how in any decent society, the SARF would be just another dissolute half-wit standing on a streetcorner braying its nonsensical diatribes from atop a soapbox. Nevertheless, it has managed to gain some credibility among detestable dodos because they relate to her message that mysticism is the catholicon for all the world's ills."

"The SARF were defeated by my Khevinist friends one year prior to today, marking the end of the Khevinist Civil War, but they are not gone. We are all here today, varied people. Very different cultures, all in one place. Let us disregard our differences, whether it be religion, gender, age, sexuality, ideology, race—or anything else, for that matter. Let us all join the fight against terrorism, the fight against the SARF. Never let another innocent civilian suffer from their horrific regime. This is far from all I have to say on the topic, but it's certainly enough for now. Just remember one thing: The SARF's squadristi are in league with stuporous dips who foster suspicion—if not hatred—of 'outsiders'. Thank you, everyone—I sincerely hope you enjoy the celebration and stand up against the terror witnessed here in Khevin."

-Dimitri gives a bow, and exits, screen cutting back to the RNB HQ-

So, that speech was quite... ehm—long, I would say. And, what was does "squadristi" mean? Well, apart from that, we have gotten another great speech out of Valko, this time calling for Orbis to work together for a change. So long for now, and have a good night, Orbis.
