Lights Out

Lights in San Salvacion went dark yesterday as one of the coal powered power plants went down suddenly from being overloaded. This led to thousands of residents being without power until generators brought in from the capital came in and were plugged into the power grid. The San Salvacion Civil Engineering Corp was deployed to begin working on the creation of a new power plant. This comes after several senior officials within the San Salvacion government complex had sent word to the Capital that the power grid was becoming overloaded with the constant infrastructure expanding and increased citizens. The winter weather has not helped either as heating across the nation are being turned on to cope with the early winter weather.

The San Salvacion Civil Defense Force was deployed to set up warming shelters in areas where the power would be out for a longer time. 

"With the generators and the Engineering Corp building a new power plant we are expecting things to be better then normal once the project is complete," stated Lt. Commander Wilkerson of the Civil Defense Force.



Reconstruction leads to economic boom

After back to back wars with various aggressive nations the nation of Erusea is in the middle of an economic boom as the Reconstruction has added more infrastructure, jobs, and has led to the development of the coal and iron industry. As it stands the Erusean Government is looking at increasing its Steel production to include 5 Steel Plants at which it will sell on the open market for funding. Coal being another resource that it will use. As the economy has begun to bolster from the warless state of affairs there has also been an increase in crime.

The Coal and Iron industries are currently producing more then is being used by the nation and the Erusean Government has been exporting a great deal of its goods overseas and with alliance members. It is expected to continue this trend and increase its abilities over the next few months. With this increase comes fears of an ecological collapse that has some citizens up in arms over the coal and iron industry stating that the "impact to the ecosystem and the air quality could be devastating if not fixed before it becomes a problem." There have been some advocates that are pushing for the development of Uranium Mining in the hopes of one day building Nuclear Reactors to be used to power the nation instead. Others have demanded that other more ecofriendly way of producing power.

The Democratic Republic of Koprivshtitsa heartily congratulates the Federal Republic of Erusia on their rapid economic development. Furthermore on the topic of electricity generation the DRK would endorse nuclear power as it is both clean and powers a huge amount of infrastructure, leaving more infrastructure open for development with Commerce buildings like Banks.

Erusean Military spending expected to rise slightly


The Erusean Military Government recently released its budget for the next fiscal year and it shows that the spending for the Erusean military is expected to increase from the current proposed budget of $33,000 (per day game time) to an estimated $40,000 as it increases the number of tanks and aircraft it has at its disposal. The current military government expects the spending to cease at $50,000 as it plans to put a cap on its military personal and equipment. There has been talks however that this does not include the current development towards the creation of the Erusean Navy and SMC Branches. 


Supreme Commander James Faulkner has expressed his desire to continue to work on building up the nations economy and civil area's before expanding the military much further. In a closed door meeting several days ago the Supreme Commander and the Board of Generals looked over plans for the development of the Erusean Navy's first Drydock/Shipyard that would lead to the creation of naval craft for deployment for blockade purposes as well as to protect from naval invasions. This has been met with some resistance however as the price of continued development on city infrastructure has increased the Government is having to wait longer to develop further.


"Our goal is to create an effective means to defend ourselves and our allies, we will eventually seek the ability to build projects such as the Missile Shield, Missile Launch Pad, and one day even obtain the ability to create and maintain Nuclear Arms." stated Supreme Commander James Faulkner.


Former Civilian Government members hold protest over Military Government control


Recently former Civilian Government members who were ousted by the newly formed Military Government held protests in the city of San Salvacion, a city that is considered to be a stronghold for the group known as the Peoples Democratic Party which was formed after the dissolve of the Civilian Government. The members for the most part have staged several non violent protests in area's of the city that are populated by many of their supporters. They have been attempting to get enough signatures to call for a Federal Law Review that they hope would lead to the reinstatement of the Civilian Government.

Many in the PDP believe that the current Military Government gained power through a non violent coup that took place during the last war. The protests have been growing with Civil Defense Forces watching the situation closely to ensure that they don't get out of hand. As of today there have been only a handful of arrests made against protesters that have committed small crimes such as theft, looting, and one man was arrested for public nudity.

Supreme Commander James Faulkner has stated that he has no reason to stop the protests stating that its a fundamental right to protest so long as they do not get violent or disrupt emergency services. He has met with the PDP spokesmen a couple of times but nothing has been released to the public as to what has been said or even what the agenda was. Some believe the PDP are attempting to gain favor with the Supreme Commander, others say that they believe that the Supreme Commander is simply trying to curtail the growing protests by offering other solutions.

24 Hour War ends in Victory

 

Erusea was once against at war recently with a former member of its own alliance. The nation of Eritrea a former member of the United States of Terra sent a surprise attack against Erusea in the late hours of the night. The Erusean Army taken by surprise was able to defend against the enemy but did take heavy loses. However in a retaliation strike that led to Air Superiority over the nation of Eritrea the Erusean Army was able to gain the upper hand. 

 

Soon after the war started Supreme Commander James Faulkner issued a Call to Reason. In the document it stated that Eritrea would offer peace and Erusea would accept it with no condition of Reparations. However if the nation of Eritrea was to continue the war that Erussia that the Erusean Army would lay waste to their nation and spare no lives. In the end the leaders of Eritrea offered peace and the Erusean Government accepted it.

 

 

Erusea to begin work on Navy

 

Erusean Military Officials have released information that it will soon be working on building its first Drydock in order to begin working on building a Navy. The Supreme Commander announced that it would begin diverting funds from the civil development sector to the building of a Drydock for the use of Erusean Naval forces. The Navy however has been told it would be limited as far as funding goes as most funds have been diverted to the Army and Air Force for the continued development and procurement of armaments. 

 

Some have questioned this move by the Military Government stating that continued production of its military would lead to some to question its motives but the Supreme Commander stated in response that, "it seems we live in a world full of raiders and alliances that are happy with making war on smaller alliances for no other reason other then to watch innocent people die. We will not become a victim but instead we must be prepared for war to protect our people."
