Baseball is nice and all, but a good portion of the Politics & War Community either aren't American or aren't interested in Baseball that much. I myself don't even know the rules or positions (lmao). There's also the advantage of promoting game activity cause I'm betting that at least 3 discord servers will open up for Politics & War Football competitions. Or you all could add cricket? If I recall, Alex has stated that there is no intention to add any other sports and this has been suggested over and over.
