After the Civil War, many of the territories and states eventually seceded from the Union. Most states surrounding the South joined the Confederacy while other stayed in the Union or became independent states. Two such state, California and Nevada, annexed most of Mexico and Central America to become MoG[Corp]. The rest were not so powerful. All of the weaker states depended on the United States of protection, trade, and development. Today, Congress ratified a treaty with these states to legally annex all former contiguous states and Alaska to the United States. However, this annexation would take years to be completed. Western Oregon, southwestern Maine, and part of Alaska will be annexed. Bermuda will also be annexed and turned into a military base to protect North America from European and African powers and serve expand the country's influence in the Caribbean and South America.

(Sorry that my post is short. I was in a time crunch.)

Due to the collapse of the Confederacy, the United States has negotiated and added all of the former Confederate states to the treaty. This allows the U.S. to annex and integrate these new states. Among them is Louisiana due to it possessing the mouth of the Mississippi River. Any country who control the mouth of Mississippi will be able to control the transport of goods to and from the United States, giving it the ability to influence the U.S. in the way it sees fit. To avoid this, the governor of Louisiana signed the Restoration of the United States Treaty. Plans to annex Louisiana are underway, with a budget set aside for aiding the construction and modernization of Louisiana.

Washington D.C. has finally signed the Restoration of the United States Treaty. The former capital of the United States, after the Civil War, seceded from the Union and was annexed by Maryland. Plans of restoration of Washington D.C. in Congress has been discussed and more discussions are planned. Despite being significant to the United States, it is not a priority to annex as states with more priority will be annexed first. In the meantime, the U.S. armed forces occupy all States that the U.S. will annex.
