Internal Affairs 12/17/2017

The Politburo has passed legislation to strengthen the Government control over the media, and The People's Newsletter has won the bid for the State-Approved News agency. There was at least 10 news agencies bidding for the approved spot, but the investigations determined The People's Newsletter to be the most honorable and honest news organizations to-date. The other News organizations were either dismantled, or agreed to join the People's Newsletter Organization. Luckily all but 1 organization decided to join us here today. 

The Communications and Media Protection Act of 2017 was passed today with a vote of 58-23. the new law states the following:

PREAMBLE: The Soviet Union and its population deserve the truth and information that is available at the time. Private organizations are not always honest, and can not be trusted to run the free news of the USSR. So from henceforth these terms are now enforced.

Article 1) Nationalized Media

The State shall own ownership of all Media outlets, and be handled through the Ministry of Communications. Everything published shall be approved by the Ministry of Communications. Failure to comply shall lead to fines up to prison time. First time offenders shall receive a fine from the ranges of $59.99 to $600.00 Rubles. Second offenders shall receive a fine of 1,500 Rubles and 30 days in jail, and a third offender will receive 10 years in prison, and their right to vote in elections will be revoked.

Article 2) Censorship of the Media

The Ministry of Communications has the right to censor any information deemed classified or disturbing for the General Populations.

Article 3) Communications Internally

All Citizens have the right to communicate with other citizens privately. Police Force are not permitted to wiretap their devices or monitor their Internet Communications. The only Organization allowed to wiretap and monitor communications via internet is The KGB, an initialism for Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti(Translated to English: Committee for State Security).

Article 4) Communications Internationally

All Communications to the International world must be documented and approved by the Ministry of Communications. Evading this regulations will result in a prison sentence up to 50 years. 

Article 5) Internet Browsing

The Ministry of Communications can censor any website deemed unpatriotic, dangerous and/or etc. All sites must register with the Ministry of Communications and be approved to be accessed. The Ministry of Communications is also authorized to track civilian's browsing history to ensure they do not find loopholes around the filter.

The Soviet Red Army is also looking for recruits to strengthen our security of the borders, and looking for factory workers to construct Military Tanks. 

 

Foreign Affairs:

The USSR has agreed to create an Embassy in the following Countries: The First Order, France, Confederate States of America, The United States and our allies, The Socialist Ottoman Empire.
