Tnarg Seluos
The atmosphere of the media room in the Royal Palace was abuzz with rumor, everyone knew what was being accounced, but it was a big move for the nation and the media had a lot of questions. King Seluos was nervous, but calm, he hated live cameras, at least he could take time to compose himself when he was just being recorded. Prince Andrew, his eldest son and heir entered the room clad in his military formal attire. "ready?" he asked King Seluos only managed a weak nod, standing he headed to the door of the greenroom and into the media room itself. The flash of cameras and whirl electronics almost seemed too much, but he smiled at the crowd, gave a kingly wave and strode over to the podium erected on the stage at the front of the room. "Ladies and gentlemen of Tnargra, visiting dignitaries and guests, welcome to the Royal Palace and thank you for being here to share in the news." Prince Andrew watched from the curtains to the left, giving a small thumbs up gesture. "The people of Tnargra are a proud and welcoming people, our forefathers were friendly to all races, religion and creed, which has helped cement our place as a pillar of tolerance and cultural exchange the world over and we wish to continue this proud tradition." more camera flashes filled the room and King Selous could almost not see the row of faces below, microphones held high. "As of 9:52 AM, the Act of Neutrality has been passed through the house of Lords and the Kingdom of Tnargra will now abstain from all foreign military wars. effective immediately, any troops overseas not engaged in peacekeeping activities will be recalled and the Tnargran military will henceforth be used only for the purpose of international peacekeeping and homeland defence." a murmur started to rise as the reporters, eager to ask questions began to open their mouths, King Seluos raised his hands and silenced them. "As of today, Tnargra welcomes all nations in conflict with each other, to use Tnargran resources to mediate disputes, our newfound neutrality will guarantee an unbiased court for which negotiations and and mediation can be resolved." Said King Tnargra, continuing, "Absolutely no foreign military units will be allowed to pass through our territory, except for ceremonial and honor guard members for the protection of foreign ambassadors and dignitaries, while these parties are within our borders, they have our guarantee of our protection, however if they feel the need for personal protection, it will be allowed." "All overseas bases within foreign territory will be dismantled, sold or abandoned and their staff returned to North America." "Trade will continue with any and all nations in an unbiased and fair manner regardless of conflict with other nations." "A new diplomatic sector is currently under construction in New Tnargra, which will house embassies from any and all nations who wish to open diplomatic channels with Tnargra." "Now, I'm sure you all have questions about the particulars" once again the cameras flashed as hands raised and voices call out.
