The head of state is Park Geun-hye The Republic has a Human Development Index of 0.898 which land it a spot at 17th position. The Republic is a densely populated country, it has an average population density of 17,255 /KM² 100% of the population can be found in urban areas. There is nobody in a rural area. Inequality is high and civil unrest is frequent, clashes between the police and protesters is almost a daily occurrence. Despite being highly industrialized, the Republic is very environmentally friendly and is subscribed to the Kyoto Protocol The Republic of Seoul Armed Forces The Republic of Seoul is a heavily militarized country because of its unstable neighbors which surround it, the Government spends 7% of its overwhelming GDP on the military and this is usually invested into high tech heavy weaponry and asymmetric warfare techniques to counter the growing threat of its neighbors. The army is split into different sectors and these are: The Republic of Seoul Airforce The Republic of Seoul Ground forces The Republic of Seoul Navy The Republic of Seoul asymmetric warfare command The Republic of Seoul higher command The Republic of Seoul Airforce The Airforce of the Republic of Seoul is highly developed and a large portion of the Military spending budget is allocated to the Airforce. The Republic of Seoul Ground Forces The Republic of Seoul Ground Forces are trained extensively in asymmetric warfare as they must undermine their opponents on a regular basis. The Republic of Seoul Navy The Republic of Seoul Navy is used to counter the growing threat it faces at sea from piracy and foreign powers; it is highly developed and patrols the perimeter of the country. The Republic of Seoul economy The economy of the Republic of Seoul has seen a boom in recent years, skyrocketing at an amazing growth illustrated by the picture below: A picture depicts the impressive growth of the Republic of Seoul GDP Despite this impressive growth the Republic of Seoul struggles with many issues such as inequality and the transition from a poor nation to a thriving nation. As the amount of people in poverty declines, the middle class is soaring. This has resulted in a rise in the usage of infrastructure and electricity and it is evident that the ROS cannot keep up with the growth surge. Electricity experiences many black outs as insufficient power plants are constructed. Roads in the capital are congested for many hours as people flock into the city with their hybrid cars. A major residential district is in the dark as a result of no power. The Republic of Seoul civil unrest The Republic of Seoul is undergoing a lot of civil unrest as a result of these issues and the growing threat from other states. Pictured below are recent riots that have struck the capital. A water cannon is fired at protesters who are demonstrating against the Government.
