Tiggera
Traditionally (the nation's entire existence) the citizens where required to follow the same religion as the King, which has always been Christianity with some Catholics here and there. Those who did not follow the same religion as the ruling monarch wasn't granted a place to worship, paid extra in taxes, and none of the holidays were recognized by the state. But today, the King has signed a bill passed by parliament which gives citizens the freedom of Religion. This means that all religions can have a place to worship which shall not and cannot ever be subject to any kind of tax, but will still have to keep their own bills paid. No citizen, no matter the religion or the number of followers for that religion, can be subjected to any higher/lower tax because of that religion. Finally, all important religion holidays (ex.Christmas/Easter for Christianity) will be legally recognized, as long as it's the official religion of at least one internationally recognized nation. Prime Minister Leónês(leader of Parliament) has been quoted as saying, "Today is a historic moment in the history of Thundera, for the first time ever, all citizens can exercise their religious belief and not have to worry about what the state will do to them." The king has been quoted as saying, "Religion is and was always a human right, now it's a right protected by law. Religion can help people stay sane and if not radicalized, bring order, happiness and prosperity. One person should not be be able to decide what everyone believes in, but one person should be able to decide what they believe in." Tiggera
What about atheists, those who choose not to believe at all? Did you read the part I was quoted saying, "One person should not be able to decide what everybody believes in, but one person should be able to decide what they believe in" part of choosing what you believe is choosing not to believe at all. Andrezj Kolarov
Fair enough, I wanted confirmation because the old "You have freedom to choose your religion, but you have to believe in something" is often used by conservative states. 1 Quote People's Republic of Velika: National Information
