I didn't mean to derail this post, which is why I initially responded with a meme to your comment and didn't argue further, but since it's already been derailed and made into this tit for tat, i'll bite and go down this rabbit hole. I hope this will be the first, and last WoT that i post about this. Apologies in advance @Marika

Back when I started getting into community servers, around, what 2018-19?, there wasn't really (m)any public places for everyone in P&W to come together to have conversations. Sure, there were the forums, the official server, and other places such as news servers and some radio shows here and there, but each had its own shortcomings, such as the forums being dead, the official server being plagued by noobs and heavy handed moderation (Yes, I know I'm one to talk), and other community servers being both. The reason RON grew and "pioneered the model" as you say, is because we brought a few people in the community together to talk regularly in the balkans. A few turned into some, some turned into more, and it became what it is today.

What I mean to get at is, RON didn't create this "dumbed down politics" with nothing but witty one liner remarks you ceaselessly accuse us of, it's a natural result of people interacting with others on a browser game. The main issue is, you can not expect everyone to be as involved in this game as you are, and contribute to any discussion, be it on the forums or somewhere else, as constructively or with the same passion as you can. In reality, that only happens with a fraction of the people in any community, which is why you see the same people engaging in public settings no matter where you go. The reason you can correctly claim to have invested more than most into making the forums active, is because there isn't that many people who care about the forums/game/community as much as you do, and that isn't your fault, but constantly complaining about it and pointing fingers at this perceived reason isn’t helping anyone. This problem existed in some form or another before we/you did, and it'll still exist long after we've left the game. 

So, please, drop this pointless vendetta, and, to quote you, focus your ire/energy somewhere else.

@Buorhann i understand your point, and to some extent, agree with it, but you have to keep in mind a majority of the 59 alliances offshoring with Borg are micros, who are either pirate alliances who have no reservations about exposing their bank or offshoring with a non-alliance entity, or just micro’s who can’t even take care of themselves let alone offshore, there’s probably a few “businesses” offshoring as well. For such alliances, it might even make sense to offshore with Borg.

But if an actual major alliance offshores with any foreign entity, as long as they offshore with a non alliance solution, that’s just a certified micro moment. Blaming borg for that, though, is short sighted or even delusional.

About your point on access given to Locutus: The bot is a public bot, so you can check out the source code as you wish. Of course, that doesn’t mean that code is what Borg is running, but despite that, your concerns about the data it has access to aren’t really limited to him.

Here is what data any bot can access via discord api: 1) Member status data (when a member changes their status, eg from offline to busy,away, etc), 2) new messages/interactions in channels, 3) name of the channels, channel message history, 4) server data (date created, member count, etc), 5) server events (channel/category/thread/etc created/deleted). There is probably some I’m forgetting

Can you log all of this? Yes. Does he? I doubt that, since most of it isn’t terribly useful

I'll keep this short. Recently, someone brought up Hidude's city growth sheet. I noticed it's from March and wanted to update it. Feel free to ask if you have questions.

I threw this together in under an hour, feel free to correct me If there is a bug in my code or an error like that. On that note, I only count taxable nations as members, i.e i don't count VMs, grays, applicants and beiged nations. I can't really be arsed to make graphs out of this data, so feel free to if you have the time. The sheet shows the past 2, 3 and 4 months, as I don't have the time to make it more detailed than that, and hidude's is only 4 months old. 

I'll also include a data dump of city and alliance data that I used, keep in mind its data you can get from the api. (update: apparently the forums don't allow uploading files bigger than 1mb, so if anyone wants the data dump just dm me on discord, its about 200mb)

Thats not how the game works in a practical sense. Even if the treaty didn't have a 72hr clause, if you arbitrarily did that, your alliance would be done for, because no one would want to sign you, lol. But that would be entertaining to see for sure, after all it would be the implosion of an alliance.

On a serious note, I agree 100%. The fact that things have gotten this worse imo only shows with how little regard the community of this game are viewed. We're heading down a CN like path, with neglect by the admins. 

I find it funny how Alex's old code was less buggy than this. How can a feature that worked flawlessly in the past break so suddenly? Revert to the old system, the one that worked
