  1. The irony of remaking TEst to dodge a war is palpable.

Edit: The additional irony of being downvoted for this post by Shifty, who VM'd during the war and is currently in VM is the sweet ambrosia that nourishes my soul.

Ugh hate these forums on mobile.

The other data point you’re missing is the amount of players who left or deleted from each coalition.  Last I saw, Coalition B had a 2:1 ratio on that.

The gap may have closed recently though.

I don't have deletions handy atm, but I would be very surprised if the amount of deletions made up for the VM gap, let alone the general activity gap between coalitions.

Yeah this is honestly just really pathetic. The only time you stop war dodging is when there's no actual Fighting really left.

DB does have a decent amount of their AA capable of reaching the sub 2k score range that KETCHTOG has made their home in, so I think there is some potential for them to get their feet wet. The war in general has been all over but the crying for weeks though.

I resent the assertion that you need to be botting to fill the match history with same minute entries. If you think that filling it is beyond human ability and grounds for a report then I recommend that you git gud. With that said I wouldn't mind baseball being revamped into a more interesting and less monotonous system, but that's an idea for game suggestions and not game reports.

Participation rates (i.e. percentage of nations who are actually declaring wars) has been rock solid at around 20% for at least a month- for both coalitions.

Making a new post because idk how to add quotes in an edit.

Interesting, doesn't that support my data about an activity gap though? Coalition A is smaller and therefore should have a larger target pool, while Coalition B is larger and should have the inverse issue. If the same proportion of both coalitions is declaring wars then doesn't that also imply an activity gap?

  6. I did Coalition wide activity checking too while I'm here. The picture isn't quite as bleak as TGH vs. AK, compared to their coalition averages TGH is very inactive and AK is very active.

Overall Coalition B is only 10% more active than Coalition A, and not 35% more like the TGH-AK comparision suggests.

And since I omitted VMers from the above data, here's the VM proportions of both coalitions.

The only way to lose in a war with the current mechanics AND daily bonus is if the player(s) themselves decide to give up willingly.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but many of your players have been giving up.

Here's an activity comparison of two alliances of the exact same size in both coalitions.

Yes I know Afrika Korps has a K not a C in "Korps" but I cba to fix it.

I mean it's possible to "punish" an opponent without forcing all of their members to flee.  And I'm not advocating for "fun" rather just stipulating that this thread is open to that discussion.  Interesting point though on the war tactics.

I mean the context of NS is a bit different from Pnw.  That notwithstanding, I appreciate your input.  Looking at your graph, though, it seems that the decline was a lot more gradual as opposed to the steep spikes in the PnW graph.  Just a possible reasoning behind this is that refers to specific alliance memberbases fleeing en masse.  It's also possible you're right, but even so I'd still like to focus on solutions of how to further increase member retention then and increase the member base.  Everyone benefits from this and it's possible for us to make a community-wide effort despite whichever reason it actually is.

The numbers are very similar the graphs are just different, Alex's graph is scaled with the top value being the top of the graph and the bottom value being the bottom. The NS graph is on a set scale of 0-10k.

  9. This likely has very little to do with the war. Activity always peaks in May and drops off over the summer. If you look at population graphs in NationStates you'll see the exact same thing. I would be very surprised if more than 10% of the inactive players went inactive primarily because of the war and not the season.

    2dxO6Ar.png

The population of The Pacific in NationStates decreased from 7,300 on May 1st to a low of 5,286 in Late July.

On May 1st our "active in the last month" population on Alex's graphs was 7,150, and it reached a bottom value of 5,552 before the GPWC boom.

This is a cyclical demographic issue that can be observed in another nationsim that doesn't even have war. Summer gets hot IRL, and in game it makes people go inactive. If you want to solve this issue then bug Alex to increase his ad budget during May-August. But I would hesitate to blame something that you can't even prove is causing it.

  10. Ultimately even if GOB intended to beige Joe (lol) their intent doesn't matter and can't be proven. The hard facts are that his slots were filled by three of his allies, and he used the protection of those slots being filled to deposit GOB's bank. Trucing with two of them the literal minute after the deposits had been completed.

And yet, the most famous of all is Hannibal.

Hannibal had a lot of initial success, but no staying power and eventually ended up losing the war in devastating fashion. Why does that sound familiar?

So the plan is obviously to subdue all their enemies, and now import players to establish their hegemony with other players not being able to stop them.

So are you admitting that KERTOGG is in fact subdued? I thought the party line was that you guys were still winning, muh net damage and all.

So, is there even an excuse this time, or have y'all just given up entirely on rationalization? No "They had a nice conversation with TKR long ago so they're obviously plotting", no "They were going to join the war and we have logs that we won't show", nothing? @Roquentin @Aragorn, son of Arathorn
