Yes, it’s finally here. The long-anticipated saga of Camelot’s sudden departure from reality after the last war. Allow me to walk you through the fever dream that has been the past few weeks.
Peace and Rebuild
On May 15th, 2025 a wild message appears in the group DM originally made to end hostilities, where Epi dramatically announces that Camelot is “withdrawing” from the NAP. No warning. No explanation. Just a little diplomatic drive-by.Naturally, we asked the obvious question: “What the hell are you talking about?”
And the response? Some vague message about us breaking terms two and four without actually saying how, when, or with what evidence. At this point, confusion set in . We weren’t talking about Camelot. We weren’t planning anything against Camelot. We were actually content to just move on.
The Conspiracy
Let's look at some of his creative accusations:
Claim 1: Rose Convinced Myrmidons to Hit Camelot Post-Rebuild
According to Epi, Rose orchestrated a plot post-war to convince Myrmidons to hit Camelot. The “evidence” consists of... messages from after the hit. It may be a surprise but Rose did not invent time travel.Even better, we’re now being told we have to prove we didn’t do something. How does that work? Would you like login credentials to our Discord accounts while we’re at it? Should we submit handwritten statements signed and notarized? When confronted about the fact that this “proof” is less than compelling, we get a reply that will go down in the history books. “Balance probabilities.”
The great standard of “probably maybe.” Surely this is the metric we should all normalize.
Rose Attempted to Buy Camelot’s Debt to Create a CB
According to Epi, someone who was an “official representative” of Rose tried to buy Camelot’s debt so we could later declare war using that as a cb? I genuinely thought it was a joke at first. The bank itself came out and said,
So I guess we can chalk this one up as another entry in Epi’s fan fiction universe.
Act III: The Defensive Buildup
While Camelot was busy stockpiling nukes and creating conspiracies, we actually held our side of the NAP. Even after hearing whispers of a potential hit, we opted to go defensive… still operating with the hope that maybe, just maybe, things could be talked out.Camelot blitzed TFP, then Rose and we all know the rest.
Motive?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours. Is this about saving face internally? Is this about being 80 billion deep in debt and needing a distraction? Is Epi just surrounded by people whispering sweet lies in his ear? What is clear, though, is that this entire narrative was crafted from paranoid, held together with duct tape, and sold as gospel.
Q&A Time
Q: Is Camelot going to be perma-rolled?
A: No. Despite what Epi would have you believe, there was never any grand plan to perma-roll or exile Camelot forever. That’s a narrative invented solely to stir emotion and rally support. Cause there is nothing like digging up NPOLT feelings to gain sympathy!
In Conclusion
We’re disappointed, to be honest. Not just with the breach of agreement, but with how lazily the breach was justified. No dialogue. No transparency. Just vague allegations and a wild conspiracy theory.George

I'm just trying to figure out where the profit is in buying debt of an alliance you intend to financially sabotage, knowing that if you were successful they'd be unable to pay back the loans you just bought.
I mean, that works if this is Wall Street (it's also evil as hell), but on Orbis, you just screwed yourself. If an alliance defaults on a loan, you don't get to take them to court, you don't get to seize their remaining assets and dissolve them, you're just out of luck (and in this case billions in cash). Oh sure you can make it so the alliance can't get loans any more, but so what? Why are you running your entire alliance on a long term line of credit? That's stupid.
Also, why would Rose want a CB, assuming that defaulting on a loan is a CB, on Camelot they can't use for months? Especially when they already have one.
But hey, Epi thinks I want to throw him out of power and install myself as Viceroy over Camelot, so clearly, I must be conspiring with Rose...or something. 🙄

This was all explained in the Recognition of Hostilities against Myrmidon. We said we would militarize in response to Myrmidon trying to sit on our protectorate Akatsuki and The Fighting Pacifists trying to pull them away. Myrmidon then agreed not to attack us but that was a lie. They just didn't want us to militarize. After that they hit us in complete violation of the non-aggression pact.
I know some people have said that's a guarantee not a NAP like the two are materially different. We disagree on principle but we'll humor the argument. What distinguishes a private guarantee not to attack each other from a private non-aggression pact? In both instances they are essentially secret treaties whose enforcement is dubious at the best of times. This is not an argument we have created rather it is one that most of the other big alliances have raised in connection to this war. They were not aware of either NAP so why should they enforce them? That's fair.
Furthermore, as annoyed as we are by Myrmidon's decision to attack us we recognize that's their prerogative. They felt we didn't uphold the NAP so they voided it. Our criticism of their decision does not arise merely from the fact they voided a NAP but rather because they didn't give us any notice or opportunity to resolve the matter. Since this has come to light there has been no widespread criticism or punishment of Myrmidon whatsoever by the 'Global Police' as they like to fashion themselves.
People have been saying that we didn't conduct any diplomacy with Rose Sphere and that's completely false. We spoke with Rose initially after Myrmidon broke its NAP with us and they had no sympathy for us. We also backchanneled our concerns over the NAP with a warning that we'd withdraw from it and they ignored us. Finally, when we did withdraw they pretended not to know anything about why.
We then spoke to several people from Rose Coalition which would prefer to remain anonymous. We shared our concerns with them and even conditions for us to return the non-aggression pact. During this time Rose also reached out but they would only talk via Voice Chat and to be entirely frank we didn't trust that. If they had something true to say they would say it over text. Oh it would also be remiss of me not to mention that Rose Coalition also suggested it was the "other side" that was responsible for proxying us.
Context for 'all our loans' would be Yarr since that's who they had direct influence over.
It's also worth calling attention to how we handled this breach. We did it alone and we didn't activate our treaties although we had every right to. We thought it would hurt them economically and wanted to avoid that which is why World Task Force's embargo is such a bad spirited response. And for WTF to also call for the removal of our leadership and the establishment of viceroys is the height of arrogance. If you're wondering who gifted us that sliver of insight into your infernal convention it was Rose Sphere because you wanted to redirect us against them and your other enemies like The Sword Coast the day before we hit Rose.
We're not going to punish World Task Force for their embargo. We're not going to punish The Sword Coast for making its own decision. We're not going to fight your battles for you. However, if in time we come to blows with World Task Force and they still want a Viceroy we'll give them one. Thanks for the idea.
We were very clear why you were placed under political and economic embargo, stop making up shit. There was nothing about "regime change".
You aren't in any position to "punish" anyone at this stage, fight the enemies in front of you, there are more than enough. If you want to keep making threats though and give us a CB for later, then by all means, we're listening. But please bear in mind, when we come, we won't come alone. We will bring hell with us.

Surprising to see WTF copy/pasted your announcement. We are living in a different time…
Make sure when your birthday rolls around, or perhaps the December holidays if that has already passed, you ask your mom for a device that tells time. They make wearable ones now. You should totally get one.

I think he’s talking about WTF. Not you specifically. He’s a grumpy old man, sometimes hard to understand.
Though I agree that it’s ironic because way past WTF was usually unwilling to stand up to things (NPOLT era flashbacks).
It seems you’re ushering a new era for WTF however, so respect there. Especially for your moves here and even in the last war.
I appreciate the kind remarks. Yeah, new era, new World Task Force. I was on the front line and in leadership with Acadia during NPOLT. If he got screwed over, it was before my time here. I *do* recall having a couple of dances with him on the battlefield though WAY back in the day. Not a name one forgets easily. heh

hmm, i still remember back in grump's early days, we were getting rolled and i reached out to you and your alliance TC who were our allies for help, and all i received from you was silence. so i guess its nice of you to finally grow a backbone when it costs you nothing to do so.
Who exactly is that directed toward, because I was never in alliance leadership in a 'TC'. You confusing North Atlantic Defense Coalition (NADC) with North American Confederacy (NAC)? I was in charge of NAC, we merged with DEIC to form Acadia.

I sent the money and the gas to TFP. They were surprised but grateful. If you have more money and resources you'd like to send to them, just have someone send them along.

Why wouldn’t you just embargo Samurai as well since they issued a DoW in support of Camelot and their NAP break? 🤔
They also share banking and offshoring so.
Fair question. As someone else pointed out in conversation to me though, Samurai didn't break the NAP, Camelot did. Samurai was never party to it. If in fact they are bank sharing and offshoring and there is proof of that, adding them to the embargo will happen forthwith.

Looking at all the lengthy forum posts recently, some of them going on about the actions of Camelot and how unjustified they are, I'm struck by the fact that they are just well, words and pictures. Not that we at World Task Force disagree with the sentiment. To be clear:
Camelot may or may have had good reason to break the NAP agreement they signed, but what they lacked was clear evidence that others had broken it first (lots of effort to create a video and images though). Breaking NAPs bad. Very bad. We do not condone it on principle.
World Task Force has no treaty ties to Camelot, no treaty ties to the alliances it has attacked, but someone should take a stand against NAP breaking in a tangible way. So that is exactly what we have done. We invite others to join us, be you one of our allies, someone with whom we've enjoyed good relations and friendship that isn't necessarily expressed as a treaty, have respect for us, or hell, just don't like us but agree with the cause.
World Task Force has put in place an alliance-wide trade embargo against Camelot. Should it come to our attention that Camelot is running trades as a way to bypass the embargo through Samurai, they too will be embargoed.
World Task Force will not sign any treaty with Camelot until such time that Camelot leadership repudiates NAP breaking and manages to come up with tangible proof of their accusations of conspiracy and NAP breaking against other alliances or apologizes for making such allegations.
Now back to your regularly scheduled wall of text, or meme, or whatever....

Yeah, they might want to think about negotiating peace options. They don't want to go where Epi is leading this time.

There's already a P&W Test server, even an annual tournament. No need to go to an outside game.

This has got to be one of the best things on the forums, if not the best, since probably 2020 or earlier. Love the whole thing.
That's certainly an interesting perspective. You are completely out of your friggen tree, but in an interesting way. As my aunt Edna used say, "bless your heart."
I will however tip my hat to Arrgh for finding a way to get people to think of nuclear blackmail and accepting bribes to rig votes as a game and a source of entertainment.

Go be with your son when the time comes, and get ready for a oddball sleep schedule for a while. RL > P&W, and Time your family >> P&W
Quite likely, this place will still be here should you ever decide to return. You'll probably find once the dust has settled and the kid is sleeping through the night, you'll have some time for this place again in the evenings. There's no disgrace in being "just a spear carrier" when that's what you have time to do.
If this is more or less goodbye forever, remember the lessons you learned here. There are always life lessons you can learn when playing these games. How to work as part of a team, leadership skills, the style of leadership that works best for you. Even the occasion lessons regarding project management, strategy, negotiating, time management, and life balance. Best of luck to you in all you do.

1 hour ago, Corvidae said:Not to deride a peace agreement but referencing the posting here, you guys fought for exactly 30 days and signed into a Non-Aggression pact for four months.
Locking up 1/4th of the [active] game into a NAP for a third of the year from less-than-a-month of fighting is cowardly and frankly plays more into Rose's hands than the alleged victor's.
I know people rarely care, especially gov who are ditching the game anyway, but it's sad to see careless peace deals like these. NAPs set the stage for stagnant politics by removing potential coalitions or partnerships within specific windows, it takes the dynamism out of the game and creates an environment where your incentive to fight a war is not in an interesting CB but rather in the end result of guaranteed safe growth for X months.
Here's the kicker though: Safely growing in perpetuity is killing this game, the same way the lack of updates coming from the dev team are.
Congrats on an interesting war bookended by a poorly-thought peace deal.
In other words, "not to deride a peace agreement but I'm going to deride the peace agreement and take a dump on it, congrats." 🙄
We appreciate your concern. It's been a while since you were part of a properly executed war plan, or hell, even won a war. So I'll forgive you for being naive as to what happens next. But people who don't have a death wish don't keep fighting needlessly for months on end. That's been tried. It hurts the game more than helps it.

Easy. Fix the spying mechanics. Too many spies get killed with a successful spy kill op. Also, spies should be immune from attack while on Beige (the flip side perhaps being they can't be used to spy while you are on Beige).
You can pretty much take someone down from 60 to irrelevant for the duration of a weeks long conflict and keep them there with a few attacks.

Funny thing about that...it causes you to accumulate a collection of enemies, often not elite alliances, but people highly motivated to do you harm should the opportunity present itself, and they are more happy to join any coalition that will empower them to do so.

Rose says many things, and have actually lied to your face before, causing you to declare a war on TI that got you into major trouble until you pivoted, but to some of the members of the coalition (Myr especially), whom you should have been fighting along side and coordinating with, it was an unforgivable error. You further compounded it by going on a beige spree and taking away potential targets, angering Myr and KT particularly, and annoying others.
Ask yourself why I would suggest a viceroy. Oh by the way, in that entire channel, and I searched it, the only mention of a viceroy was by BigMorf, and he was against such a thing, and only brought it up in the context of things that used to happen on Planet Bob (CN).
That quote you have a screenshot of in context was about encouraging those who would pursue war against you to decide upon realistic goals for how a war involving Camelot would end. The conclusion of that conversation was that trying to force you out would be futile. So I simply left it at, "then you have a decision to make." It's not for me to set your peace terms. It's for the people who are fighting you to set those, and for you to accept them, accept them in part and negotiate for better terms on the other points, or flat out reject them and fight on.
