That desk belonged to the Emperor himself, Lelouch Vi Britannia. The letter was accompanied by no messenger. It simply appeared silently on the Emperor's desk, only noticed upon him turning around. As he did, a single golden butterfly took flight from atop the envelope before disappearing. Upon delicately opening the envelope, the contents of the letter within read: "It has been far too long, Emperor Lelouch. The Golden and Endless Witch, Beatrice herself has decided to personally write you this letter. As you may be aware, Rokkenjima has found itself in armed conflict with China. Although we have already achieved massive territorial victories, things are nowhere close to over. We have looked to Britannia and taken notice to something. I am sure you see it as well. You and your Empire have gotten soft. You have lost Japan, willingly ceded New York City and half of the continent to the weakened United States. It is not a stretch to say Britannia has experienced massive decline in recent years. The Witch Council of Orbis is offering you this opportunity to recapture the former glory of The Holy Britannian Empire. Take up arms with us in China and expand your influence, or isolate yourselves as your power and land continue to whittle away. If you are interested, the Witch Council has invited you to attend a conference on the island of Rokkenjima at your earliest convenience to discuss things further. Criminal elements in Sino territories would quickly be armed with the basic toys to make them a threat to your under-prepared soldier. The corporation would only be linked through a few degrees, an honest accounting error should anyone ask. The same elements would also be given incentives to remove any mainland government operatives within their own territory. The company had no stake on either side of course but ensuring a successful transition had it's own benefits should the Triads and other groups maintain their order following the governmental change. Publicly there was not even a whisper, the thousands of channels preferring to focus on the company returning to space, rockets sprouting from the equator to fill the sky once more.

However, congress has already the United States of America will not support Rokkenjima in any official capacity. The Director of the CIA, Owen Hall has secretly approved a small group to anonymously assist and provide intelligence to the Rokkenjima's Armed Forces. If agents on the ground are to be detected, they are to commit suicide after activating every self destruct protocols on all electronic devices, and wiping any drives that could compromise the operation. Every agent will be Chinese and Korean nationals within the CIA, and will arrive to their designated areas within 3 days. All weapons and equipment they use will be easily accessible, to ensure they do not have a way to be traced back to the CIA or American government, and if caught, the United States will destroy any evidence showing evidence connecting the agent to the United States and disavow its involvement. Operation Protocols: US Agent will deliver a hard drive containing Intelligence to a Rokkenjima's force, using weak encryption. While staying out of site, it will be left where Rokkenjima's Armed Forces could easily find it. If agent risks of being seen by a Rokkenjima soldier, they will abort and try to give the data later. If caught, using an EMP Device to destroy anything on the agent will be used before injecting a lethal dose of potassium into their heart to alter the heart’s rhythm to cause enough damage to kill the agent. US Agents will only attack if necessary. If escape isn't an option, then the EMP Device and Lethal Dose protocol is necessary Agents are forbidden from attacking Rokkenjima's forces, and if cornered must resort to the EMP Device and Lethal Dose Protocol. Minimal Contact is required, and only long enough to send data, but short enough to keep from being detected.

Originally posted: February 1, 2020 The People's Republic of China vs. Rokkenjima The conflict began in January when protestors in Hong Kong succeeded in taking over the city's Central Government Complex and killing pro-mainland members of government. They seceded from mainland China, declaring themselves as the independent Republic of Hong Kong. The Witch Council of Rokkenjima quickly took action, meeting with Hong Kong's new government where an annexation agreement was reached. Hong Kong would become sovereign Rokkenjiman territory in exchange for protection from the People's Republic of China. Immediately following the annexation of Hong Kong, the People's Republic of China declared war on Rokkenjima. China wasted no time attempting to take back Hong Kong by force. City defenses managed to hold out until Rokkenjima's main forces arrived, securely defending Hong Kong's border. In the north, Rokkenjima's Armed Forces crossed into Manchuria from Korea. Naval invasions took place all along the Chinese coast. By the end of the month, Manchuria and China's eastern coast from Beijing to Shanghai was securely under Rokkenjiman control. Fighting continues as both nations find themselves at war with each other once again. Fighting continued into February with Rokkenjiman ground and air forces pushing further into the provinces of Shandong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang. The city of Macau was also captured by Rokkenjiman forces pushing into the city from Hong Kong. There has yet to be a major counterattack from Chinese forces as they attempt to regroup and reorganize following Rokkenjima's aggressive push into its territory. On February 4, the Chinese autonomous region of Tibet declared its independence from the People's Republic of China. Citizens of the territory took up arms supplied by foreign countries in an attempt to topple the Chinese military presence in the region. Rokkenjima declared its support for Tibet later the same day, promising to send reinforcements to Tibetan rebels upon request. On March 5, the People's Republic of China and Rokkenjima signed a ceasefire due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Asia. No further combat between the two nations would occur beyond this point, thus ending the Sino-Rokkenjima War. The response is currently pending.

The play up until this point has seen many unexpected players, but they too, have died out and disappeared. This doesn't mean the end of the story. The events of Orbis in the year 2020 demand to be told, and they will. It is a tale of rising tensions, clashing ideologies, and the eventual breakup of the country which has resided on and around Orbis for over four years. However, these events have been unfolding in a dimension separate from this, and have gone unseen by many as a result. The dimension in which I am speaking to you now has continued to exist in peace, absent of the aforementioned events. The Game Master of these events is currently unknown by the readers, but only they have the power to determine if the dimensions shall merge. I have decided to lend you my assistance, and do everything in my power to ensure this tragedy is told. The fighting in China and Vampiria's continued aggressive expansion had put the leaders of the other countries on high alert. Aside from minor border skirmishes, the battlefield had remained pretty quiet. It wasn't because the other countries had been doing nothing, however. In truth, they had been spending their time drafting up plans and building up their militaries, waiting for the next major development in this war. In the Demon Army: King Satan, General Alciel, and General Lucifer were gathered in the throne room, discussing their next move in the war. In the time since the demons were driven out of northeast China, they had spent their time regrouping and defending their border from attacks by the vampires. "The vampires have begun mobilizing again, both in the south and closer to home in Hebei province. The more they're allowed to expand, the easier it will be for them to overwhelm us. I suggest expanding our borders in mainland China, but not so much as to overextend ourselves." Alciel said towards King Satan. "Indeed. We will be in trouble if we continue to fight defensively. What's more, we could be dealing with a war on two fronts at any given time. For now, we don't have to worry about an incursion by the humans from the south on the Korean peninsula thanks to that ice wall. With that said, it seems increasingly obvious that the next stages of this war will take place in China. Alciel, I'll have you and your army see to expanding into Henan province as well as the remainder of Shandong. Hopefully we can halt Vampiria's advance southward at the Hebei-Henan border." "Yes, my king!" Alciel replied. "Lucifer, continue to reinforce our northern border. Report any additional military buildup by Vampiria in the region." Lucifer nodded. "Understood." In the Human Alliance: General Esdeath was briefing the Jaegers and Night Raid on the Human Alliance's next steps following a discussion on the current state of the war. "It is time for us to go on the offensive. With Vampiria's latest expansion, it seems likely that they'll end up battling the Demon Army again sooner rather than later. If this does happen, we will take full advantage and launch an attack from the south, forcing the demons to fight on two fronts. To help us in the upcoming encounters with the Demon Army, we will be relying on new recruits Crestia Bel and Emilia Justina, as they share great familiarity with the Demon Army's top leaders." The pair steps forward, saluting the general. ""We will give it our all!"" Esdeath continues. "With any luck, we can drive the demons out of China, which would make it extremely difficult for them to do any meaningful damage throughout the remainder of the war. The second stage of this war will take place in China, and so that is where we will focus most of our resources. It is also very likely that we will encounter the vampires for the first time in this conflict. As we speak, the Human Alliance is training an elite team specifically for combating vampires. Once things pick up, they will accompany the Army and the rest of you until such time that conflict with Vampiria begins. In the meantime, we will be marching west into Anhui province. The Chinese Communist Party has taken control in the region, and so we will be taking them out. Am I understood?" Everyone replied in unison. "Yes, ma'am!" In Mariage Sorciere: The Witch Council had just concluded a similar discussion regarding the current state of the war. Beatrice spoke first. "As of now, the other countries do not seem too concerned with us. Other than basic naval defense, they are paying us no mind." Eva nodded. "They will learn before too long that this was a mistake. Bernkastel has stationed her army in Hokkaido. We are ready to invade Vampiria at any time. Until then, we should see to it that any pests who may try to crawl their way into our affairs have nowhere to go. It's been a concern from the very beginning that Macau and Hong Kong could become a liability if foreign powers use them as a stepping stone. Let's extinguish that possibility today. Send word to our forces in Hainan to launch an attack on the mainland. They will be pushing into Guangxi and Guangdong, and surrounding the city-state."

With the ongoing power struggle in China throwing what remained of the country into chaos, Vampiria had an easier time than ever encroaching on its remaining territory. In the south, the vampires had quickly captured half of Yunnan province. Behind closed doors, plans had been drafted for the country to push into southeast China with the hope of establishing additional ports. Doing so would allow Vampiria to build up a naval presence in the region, and eventually launch an assault on the other countries from the north and south. In the northeast, Vampiria's army had captured the rest of Hebei province. Since the Demon Army's defeat in China, fighting between the countries had stalled. However, between the instability in China and Vampiria's continued aggressive expansion, that wouldn't remain the case for much longer.

While Kaname was still out, his advisers met to discuss the current state of Asia. The Bao Dynasty had seemingly fallen. With no official government remaining, the remnants of the CCP that were scattered throughout China returned in an attempt to reclaim the power they once held. It was now that China was at its weakest, with civilians taking up arms and seizing military equipment, the CCP would face quite the uphill battle in reclaiming China. With the current situation as it is, Vampiria would follow through on their agreement with Tibet and withdraw their forces, instead focusing on their original plan of invading what remains of China and feeding on their population. Vampiria would capture what remained of Qinghai province and move south into Sichuan province.

August 16th - the city of Beijing With the recent expulsion of the Demon Army from Vampirian territory behind them, the country had begun the process of rebuilding. The success experienced by the vampires was due in no small part to Kaname Kuran. While many of the nation's older vampires were already familiar and loyal to him and the Kuran family, the younger generations of vampires were not, that is, until his recent feats against the Demon Army. His success on the battlefield attributed to his rise in popularity across Vampiria, leading him straight into power as King. The Forbidden City Palace had been transformed into the residence and headquarters of the new King and his government, which had yet to be completely formed. Kaname already knew who would be seated beside him in this new government. It was only a matter of locating or awakening them. For now, an interim government was created to assist the King until he could select a proper one. Following the expulsion of the demons, Kaname had been briefed on the current state of the war and east Asia. He agreed that dealing with the People's Republic of China should be considered a priority, and authorized the Vampirian military to invade and capture the Communists' final remaining territory in Qinghai province. The meeting with his advisers would continue to discuss Vampiria's future. The topic of Tibet and the Bao Dynasty would soon be brought up. Kaname was familiar with the existence of the newly formed Dynasty, but not much more than that. An adviser would further explain the situation to him. "If I may, my lord. The Bao Dynasty is a new nation that has formed from the ashes of the People's Republic of China. We don't know much about them, other than they're currently in conflict with the remnants of the Communist forces throughout China, and they don't seem too interested in fighting us. However, they seem to have held a meeting with MoG[Corp] recently, and there is concern that the Corporation will use the Bao Dynasty as a means to reach us. The last thing we need is foreign intervention in our war." Kaname took in this information, thinking for a moment. "I see, and what role does Tibet have in this?" The adviser continued. "Following the breakout of the Sino-Rokkenjima War and up until the formation of the Bao Dynasty, Tibet has remained independent. Their eastern territory is now claimed by the Bao Dynasty, however. We're acutely aware of the Tibetan government's desire to remain independent. This would be the perfect opportunity for Vampiria to strike a deal with the Dalai Lama." Kaname responded. "What do you suggest?" "We negotiate a deal for Vampiria to claim Tibet's remaining territory, under the conditions that we agree not to feed on Tibet's population and that Vampiria will return all of Tibet's territory to them following the conclusion of the war. Also, considering what we know about the Bao Dynasty's meeting with a foreign nation, I suggest that we take preemptive action against them. If we can manage to secure additional coastline along China's eastern border, that will only make our war against the other nations easier." Kaname absorbed all this information. He studied the map closely, thinking things over for several moments. "I...agree. Very well. Send our proposal to the Dalai Lama. If he accepts, we will then prepare to take preemptive action against the Bao Dynasty. Until then, we will reinforce our borders. Our forces are free to feed on the people of Qinghai, including those with the virus. In the meantime, I will leave things to the rest of the government while I locate the members I have in mind. Am I understood?" Everyone present kneels. "Yes, my lord!"

July 16th A few days had passed. The battle for Beijing was intense. The action never stopped for more than a few minutes at a time. In the end, the Demon Army was left exhausted, never managing to break through Vampiria's defenses and infiltrate the city. While both sides had suffered losses, most were suffered by the demons. By the morning of the 16th, the order had been given for the Demon Army to fall back. For General Alciel, it was south into Shandong province. For General Lucifer, it was into northeastern Hebei province. The loss at Beijing had confirmed previous suspicions that Vampiria had, up until recently, been operating without a leader. The mission now, however, was to determine the identity of this new leader. It was obvious from the battle that they were adept at organizing and leading people, a fact that would continue to spell trouble for the demons over the coming weeks. July 19th Vampiria, having managed to defend both Beijing and Tianjin, continued to further their momentum. Their army and air force moved to the south and northeast, securing Hebei province and pushing the demons back even more. Vampiria's navy started to regain their numbers and strength, combating the Demon Army's navy on the Yellow Sea. July 26th The battle for Dalian began. Vampiria secured a key naval victory against the Demon Army in the areas surrounding the city, allowing for a naval bombardment and subsequent land invasion to take place. By the time it was over, the battle for Dalian would be the longest and deadliest since the battle for Beijing two weeks earlier. July 27th Vampiria began their push into the provinces of Liaoning and Inner Mongolia. As this occurred, repeated attempts from the demons to advance from the south into Hebei failed. July 30th With Liaoning and Inner Mongolia secured, the vampires had managed to regain their connection to their northern territories. As a result, Vampiria's growing military would now be able to more easily launch coordinated strikes against the demons from multiple directions at once. The next week would be spent holding off the Demon Army's attempted advances while Vampiria constructed more military units and formed battle plans with their forces in the north. August 7th A massive push to retake Vampiria's remaining territory began. Within a few days, half of Jilin and Heilongjiang had been retaken by the vampires. August 10th King Satan Jacob of the Demon Army gave the order for General Lucifer's forces to retreat across the border to North Korea. Within hours following the retreat, Vampiria had reclaimed all of their territory lost to the Demon Army. King Satan, along with his strongest soldiers, would join Lucifer's forces at the border, reinforcing it to prevent the vampires from infiltrating the Demon Army's territory proper.

Ronove listened to the man as he began to lead him up to the mansion. "I see. It isn't my place to speak on behalf of the Witch Council, so you will need to explain everything to them once we arrive at the mansion. I shall get started on preparing various alcoholic beverages and snacks for you and your party." After a bit of walking, the group arrived at the mansion grounds. A short walk through the rose garden later, and they were at the main entrance. Ronove opened the doors, bowing to them as they entered the mansion.
