Well baseball is boring but soccer would be cool. Especially since that's probably the most popular sport. And if there was some kind of in game reward display for it that would be cool. Than add a playoffs and championship with big money rewards or bonuses adds incentive. Even adding the possibility of trading players would be easy as you could just use the same coding used to make the current market in game probably.

That argument was made when baseball was first introduced, before it there was a player run soccer league where people payed in game money to level up players and prize money was given out in tournaments. I remember not everyone being happy about the choice of baseball but the idea of changing it to soccer was shot down because it didn't matter at all. There were player run baseball tournaments in the past and I think even a few officially sanctioned ones by game admins way back when so I imagine there might be some interest if another one of those was held.

Mayor and TKR is not the cross-over episode I expected, but I'm absolutely down for this arc.

Because he's the hero TKR deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight.

I knew I would convert him sooner or later. 🙏

  3. I generally disagree with the consensus that soldiers are a useless unit. They are cheap, you can buy over 1/3rd of your total maximum a day with PB project, and they supplement tanks nicely. how many soldiers you have greatly affects the odds of getting an immense triumph in ground battles. In terms of the balancing change of removing the 33% airforce reduction from ground control, it does force you to wait longer after a war begins to really start countering air in any meaningful way so I can see why people think of it as a problem. However, reverting things to how they were would just make air overpowered again so I really would prefer something else. Right now opening with ground attacks is really only crazy good when you catch someone who is not at full ground since dogfight kills lean much more reliably to the attacker than kills from ground battles. Before this change, opening with ground attacks by the aggressor wasn't viable at all so it's nice that it is at least an option now. When it came to ground attacking at the offset of a war to debuff planes I pretty much always considered it the sub-optimal move due to the sheer power of dogfights even when outnumbered in the air. The only time it wasn't a really bad idea was when you outgunned your opponent in terms of ground forces by a wide margin.

if you make a properly abominable war version of the holiday flag, that just might conversely lead to the most actually pretty expected (and holy 🙏) team-up in P&W history - and boy would I be reluctant, for sure, I definitely haven't been sitting here drooling puddles at the sight of @Kyubnyan with 60 spies and on Fortress

Kurd, pls dun hurt my spais again. Kthx.

So I guess fighting for literally 3 months in back to back wars doesn’t count towards 3 month NAP. Great.

Additionally, I guess GoB, Guardian, and Oblivion are “majority of the game”

Z and Hippo love to exaggerate.

Wow I didn't realize Kastor returned. Gotta pay more attention to the forums. Let me lead us in prayer to welcome the return of Lord A Aron.

    ahem...

Lord A Aron who art In VM

    Hallowed be thy name

    Thy bank be gone

    Thy will be done

in 2022 as it was in 2017

Give us this day our daily thread,

    and forgive us our shitposts,

as we forgive those who shitpost against us,

and lead us not into hegemony,

    but deliver us from NAPs.

For thine is the alliance and the sphere, and the glory.

    Forever and ever.

     Amen.

Honestly the main reason I voted against this is purely because I feel like we have way to little resistance/maps to afford a change like this.

If getting a superiority cost several attacks, then you wouldn't realise the benefits until a certain number of attacks have passed. I feel like you would need to rework how much damage a single attack does or how long a war lasts to make this work well. I would certainly like to need a more dynamic superiority but the balance wire we stand on here is very thin.

Also would this affect naval superiorities? Ships are already in a bad spot, nerfing the ability to blockading by effectively delaying how long it takes to set up one would be quite bad.

This is a good point. I also feel that how superiority is broken especially by ITs from other opponents will need to be reevaluated. This won't just make a pyrrhic victory nullify 2 attacks used to get an IT but another IT by another nation would really set back the attacker a lot. The tempo of wars will be way too slow based on how easy it is to make your opponent waste resistance to get anything useful done.

This is something I've looked at for a while - multitudes of micros have numbers but they don't have the drive, experience, perhaps even competence (or is that just derivative from experience? argument to be made there) to successfully run and/or turn a micro alliance into a big player, or even mid sized. Turning an alliance into something half decent is more of a cultural thing and the mentality - 'micro moments' only happen because of a mentality issue.

I don't think competence is a derivative of experience. It's the other way around since you can have all of the experience in the world but if you don't know how to evaluate it and grow from it then you will never succeed.
