I played in a few of democratic alliances and a lot of dictatorial alliances, I've seen democracies usually fall apart due to lack of trust between players from the same alliance (as they usually compete with each other most of the time) and I've seen some huge alliances succeed with pseudo-democratic government as well. I believe it has to do with the way democracy is constructed. A restricted democracy is always good in my opinion, but whatever the government type is, it is very important for the members to feel that the alliance is their own and not a property of the leader or a few people. The later will usually make people leave the alliance or stay there without loyalty to the alliance. How welcoming an alliance is, depends on how active the community is, irrespective of whether it is a democracy or a dictatorship. And in alliances like Mensa, if their leader is asking for public opinion before taking important decisions and considers every point, then that serves the purpose of democracy. I don't know how other democratic alliances here are designed, but in our alliance, democracy is restricted to only internal matters and not for foreign affairs and democracy is generally suspended during war period. Unlike popular notion regarding democracies, we can take decisions within 12-18 hours or so (depending on which time of the day it is).

Before signing the pact, PyroStat said they got clearance from Sheepy. Recently, I sent a message to Sheepy, he said MDMA is under observation and they did discuss the issue. So, I'm not taking speculations/guesses seriously.

Well, we don't have party colours as of yet and they are just a default colours from spreadsheet I'm just curious, how are you going to use money to corrupt people in our democratic government, that will benefit you?

Where are the conservatives here? And it is not necessary to pass the 50% mark, the President needs 3/5th support from the Council. With three members present in Council from the DF (Democratic Front), the leader of that group becomes the President. The pie chart is for alliance-wide stats. We have 5 sub-groups based on score range, each electing a member to the council (which is the legislative branch). One of them is from the CP (Communist party) and another is from DNFA (Fascist party). The DF don't need the support of these two parties because they already have 3/5th majority.

Well, if there is a communist party, it doesn't mean they are actually going to install communist economics or communist government, these are done as a form of RP. Our alliance is a constitutional monarchy, so it is common for people to join together and contest as a group. lol Thanks

Valar Jemis ! We had our first election in the last week, three political parties competed for 30 votes in five different states. With a voter turnout of 73.4%, the Democratic Front won three state elections, followed by the Communist Party of Chola winning in one state and Die Nationale Faschistische Aebeiterpartie (aka The National Fascism Workers' Party) winning in one state election. The votes are split (alliance wide) as shown below, With a growing population, we expect the voter base to increase in the coming elections. With this post, the responsibilities and powers related to Internal Affairs, Defence, Education etc.., are transferred to the new government with immediate effect. I would like to suggest two notifications, 1. Bank notification - When someone sends money/resources to alliance bank, nations which have permission to withdraw from the bank gets a notification along with the transaction note. 2. Announcement notification - When someone replies to an announcement, the original poster of that announcement gets a notification.

Add a revenue log for the alliance bank the same way there is a revenue log for nations. Revenue log will be helpful to find out how much an alliance earns per turn and to calculate the tax rate/spending based on that.

Or may be it will discourage people to suggest in future. It all depends on how individuals take, so it always won't be the same. If a suggestion is bad, you can give a reason for it. Too busy to give a reason? Then just ignore the post.
