  1. (OOC: Just a more specific rp of what my forces are doing) As soon as the initial attacks began, Soviet forces would go to high alert, and preparations to finish of the Canucks and defend the USSR would be made. In the North Pacific, the Soviet Pacific Fleet would swing into action. At any given moment, there would be 20 submarines operating along shipping routes, targeting Canadian military and civilian shipping. These subs would mainly be Schuka-class and M-class attack subs. Soviet aerial forces drilling in the US would also see some action at sea. 10 Be-6 maritime patrol aircraft would be taking turns patrolling the seas. Armed with torpedoes, they would work to attack Canadian military and civilian ships at sea. These aircraft would work to avoid the Canadian coastline and Canadian combat aircraft. At any given moment, 3 of these aircraft would be out on patrol. However, the air force would also be seeing its share of operations over land. 200 MiG-15 aircraft would be providing cover to soviet ground troops. 20 Tu-4 bombers, escorted by another 100 MiG-15s, would be dropping 1,000 kg bombs on Canadian positions along the border. On the ground in Washington state, some 500 Katyusha rocket launchers would move to the border and open fire on the largest Canadian positions. Some 1,500 D-44 field guns would be used for smaller targets. Backed by this artillery, 50,000 Soviet troops, armed with all manner of weaponry ranging from anti-tank guns, mortars, and rifles, would roll over the border with their American comrades, moving to destroy Canadian units along the border. With them would come 1,000 T-34s, and thousands more armored cars. In Alaska, Soviet troops, 10,000 strong, with 100 Katyushas and 250 D-44s, would also advance. These forces would also have a variety of equipment, and thousands of armored cars and 100 T-34s.
  2. The Soviet forces for the drills would begin arriving as well. Classified Nazi scientists captured in East Germany had been secretly moved to the USSR ages ago. Efforts to keep them a secret would be increased.
  3. Classified(You can probably assume that you know that this is happening) A new era had begun. The Soviets had the bomb, and had conducted their first successful test in Kazakhstan. Across the USSR, Soviet officials would be notified of the successful test, and the USSR's military industry would begin building additional weapons. In other news, funding for the Soviet's rudimentary space program has been increased.
  4. Soviet military contingents would be prepared for the upcoming drills.
  5. (OOC: You sure we can't just do this in here? I mean, ICly, its private, and lots easier.)
  6. The Soviet ambassador would speak first. "We are of the opinion that Austria should be allowed a return to sovereignty, under certain conditions. Namely, Austria agrees to permanent neutrality and maintains a military of no more than 20,000, with no combat aircraft, and agrees to not host any foreign military forces. We feel that anything more than this would be a threat to our allies in Hungary and Czechoslovakia. We would also wish that Austria agree to respect the USIA's property, and its exemption from taxation. We are, however, willing to sell the USIA's assets to Austria." He looked at the other delegates, and waited.
  7. The Soviet government would also be supportive of furthering ties, and would propose another round of talks, as the first ones had been interrupted by the shooting. The Soviet military would be supportive of such a drill, and would inquire as to where the US felt that they should be held. (OOC: Austria post coming up next)
  8. The Soviet Union would gleefully accept.
  9. Ambassador Mikhail Alekseevich Domontovich would be sent for talks.
  10. (OOC: Its out of habit, really. In most of the other rp communities I've been in, most people use things like "would happen" to make it more clear that you're allowing your actions to be interrupted if the other parties want. So, for example, one person in Russia would say "The nuke would launched at London," so the person in England can say "But the English missile defenses shot it down." On the other hand, if the dude in Russia just says "A nuke hit london," its just annoying to respond to. Anyhow, its really irrelevant, as that's just what people do in a totally different rp. I'm just doing it out of habit ) As soon as the shooting started, the Soviet guards pulled out their guns and open fire on the other high ranking US officials in the area, as well as any American guards. Of course, in the chaos, it would no doubt be hard to tell who was and who wasn't a high ranking official, hence, odds were, that a good number of innocent bystanders would be stopping bullets as well.
  11. An invitation would be extended to Britain to send a representative to Soviet occupied Vienna to join discussions about Austria's future. In the US, the Soviet ambassador would arrive at the location of the meeting, and wait to see the President.
  12. (OOC: You mean you sent an ambassador to the Vienna meeting, or you sent for the Soviet Ambassador to meet with Truman? ) The Soviet ambassador would set off for the meeting, along with a couple of guards.
  13. Private to Austria and Occupying Powers "We would like to propose a meeting in Soviet occupied Vienna in order to discuss Austria's future." (OOC: Srsly, give a guy a chance to respond ) In the US, the Soviet ambassador would wait for his meeting with the president, now that the elections were over.
  14. From my understanding, everything up till 1948 happens like it did irl. So Sweden wouldn't have had a nuclear program until the rp begins, meaning that it would still take a good deal of time before an actual test could be performed. Meh, not really my affair, I'll leave it to the OP to clarify.
  15. The Swedish nuclear weapons program didn't really kick off until the 1950s, so there'd still be a ways for it to go before its first test. Just sayin'.
  16. http://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/7897-cold-war-rp-ic/?p=128390 As a brief note to y'all, the USSR doesn't have nukes yet, though it will be conducting its first tests shortly...
  17. The Soviet Ambassador would find this agreeable, and make preparations for the upcoming meeting.
  18. "The Soviet Union too wishes to repair its relations with the US." The Soviet ambassador to the US, Alexander Panyushkin, would propose a meeting between himself and the American president in order to discuss the relationship between their two nations.
  19. Classified Soviet nuclear research had come a long way. Now, the bomb was entering its final stages. Soon, the glorious Soviet Union would have access to a power thus far held only by the US. Preparations would be made to swiftly complete the first test bomb, and run the first test. Meanwhile, the USSR would be continuing a general modernization and buildup of its military. German knowledge, seized during the Second World War, would come in useful, and would be closely studied.
  20. Saudi Arabia watches in amusement.
  21. The Saudi government would be willing to assist the Israelis in their evacuations. Naval, aerial, and land transportation would be prepared.
