If this goes through please add the change where spies get 1 turn immunities similar to missiles.

That way we don’t get the same situation with spies where missiles being instantly spied before they had their 1 turn immunity.

Under the existing system, bots can already get your spy counts more often than once a turn if they so choose and it has not lead to insta-spying. The reason being if your nation only has one day's buy, your enemies can still successfully execute any spy op they want against you without having to spy them away. Best to let a nation get at least two days' buys of spies befote wasting a spy op to assassinate them.

I would actually be okay with making the spy counts public, if it's already that simple to gather how many spies any particular nation has. $1000 an op isn't going to deter anyone- you only need the odds for the opposing coalition, and even if there's a thousand nations in that coalition, that's only $1m to check odds on all of them. The gasoline for my (c31) air strikes costs more than that.

To be clear it's 1k times however many times a bot needs to pull odds to get your exact spy count. It's nothing that'd bankrupt any major alliance but it'd cost a few million to get a coalition's spy counts. Not just 1m.

Just saw this but yes there was a meetup. However, alcohol and fun were more of a focus than a new 2IC ;3

Now now tell the truth. We had a beer pong tournament with the 2ic job as the prize 😉

Was initially going to be a Cards Against Humanity tournament but then we realized that would guarantee @Kyubnyan victory

They use bots and leave their comp afk, that's not really advantageous to new players who don't have bots but instead helps only well connected players in established alliances.

Bold generalization you're making there. Got any proof to back it up? I've been a pretty heavy baseball player from time to time and I've been in front of my computer clicking for every single one of my games. So have, as far as I know, the overwhelming majority of the current active members of the baseball community. You may even be surprised to learn we report players whom we suspect of using auto-clickers.

I don't deny there is potential for abuse but I thought it worth to set the record straight as I'm not a fan of being painted with a broad brush like that.

Whataboutery doesn't answer the question, does it? Every new player on Orbis has the same opportunities to watch ads or raid or trade and make it to the big leagues quick, and that is respectable. Clicking buttons in a screen to make money off baseball, it's a privilege, the privilege of time which a lot of us lack.

How is my question whataboutism? Your main argument is this game should be based on skill rather than time, so I don't see how it's irrelevant for me to ask what these supposed skills are. Especially since the examples you gave like raiding and trading also require significant time commitments to maximize profitability.

By several metrics I think I've been fairly "successful" in my 14 months playing this game, yet the onky major reason I can point to for that "success" is the amount of time I've devoted to this game. No special set of skills, just time.

Following items are scheduled to go live sometime at the end of next week:

    3 Projects
    Embargoes
    Trade
    Navy

Some QoL changes may come as well, but they are currently being worked on and the target hopes to be the end of June - early July on any lingering items.

Are the resource/cash costs you had initially disclosed for the projects at the beginning of this thread still accurate?

This game is based on skill, and by keeping baseball as a viable cash generator, me and other players who don't have enough time to invest into baseball are being left behind by those who do.

Can you please clarify what "skill" is required of a c40+ nation who doesn't even need to log in once a day to earn 50+ times as much income as the proposed 1m baseball cap? I apologize if my question may sound arrogant but it's not my intent. I'm legitimately curious because I don't think longevity should be considered a skill.

why not just implement a check that prevents placing sell offers for resources you don't have and buy offers for money you don't have?

This is already the case, but the problem persists since someone can, for example, post 5 offers to sell 20k lead at 5 different prices, giving the impression there is 100k lead to sell on the market (exercising downward pressure on prices) even though they only have 20k of it on hand.

Nah that's dumb. Unless deleting trade offers becomes easier.
Optimally you'd get a pop up wiht you three current trades and just be able to choose which one to delete instead of doing weird click trougjh things. The trade UI isn't optimal no need to make people interact with it more than needed.

I don't see how that's dumb. If traders are able to spend so much time spamming away trades by undercutting the market continuously, surely they can afford the time required to delete an old trade. And I say this as someone who does a fair amount of trading.

I do like your proposal of the pop-up screen and agree that would be ideal but I also get the feeling it would be more complicated to code than the solution the dev team is currently contemplating.

There's no way someone is watching screen for several hours just to update their trade officer continuously.

    You'd be surprised.

I fully support this change too as it will help address the issue of people leaving a bunch of old trades on the market that influence prices even if the players making the trades no longer have the funds/resources to back them up. I don't think the removal of the older trade should be automatic. Make the trader do the work. Also, from experience the oldest trade may not necessarily be the one a trader would want to delete, so I don't see any value in having the deletion be automatic.

Also, @Prefontaine can you confirm private trades would not be included in this limit?
