It does however bring to light actions that, according to the ToS should not be tolerated and requests for action to be taken. It's amazing how you personally cry foul about 'OMG OOC" time and time again, and when clear proof is given of an OOC attack, you find an excuse to frame the person reporting it. Do some reflection mate. No one is going to get better from stuff like this being viewed as acceptable in the game. Most of us have seen what it leads to. And no, I never claimed I am 'angered'. Whether I am 'angered' or not is entirely irrelevant to whether or not the message should be supported.

How can the war be between just NPO and BK, yet include Placentica and Partisan. Did we both assume temporary control of one of the warring parties? Did BK and NPO go to war for our honor? A man needs to know.

Second time, and the first time I returned because we were running headfirst into a losing war. So no, your point there does not stand. Similarly, there have been quite a few matters over the year which could have and in hindsight should have been brought to the attention of the mods. A few times I did so in private. A few times I let them slide. This time around, I have decided to do it in public. That is my decision, not yours. Worse yet, I find it incredibly strange that you tie in-game events to this report. Frankly, my IC persona has nothing to do, and should have nothing to do with whether or not I report an infraction to moderation. So let's stay away from the ad hominems and strawman arguments, shall we?

If you had read my replies, you would already have an answer to this. I'm not offended by the word. I do feel that the action itself warrants a reply due to the potential harm that such actions can do to the gaming experience of the subject of the joke, should the rumor take off. So by your logic: I can call you a sex offender to anyone you interact with in this game (note: directly to yourself). If you don't like it or try to combat it, you better quit the game. Seems a bit counterproductive ehh? The report is up because it was indeed an infraction and therefore a warnable and/or bannable offense. I do not see why judgement should be passed on the reporter. Let's take this instance: The matter is brought into the world via pm's to *other people*. The problem with that is that it helps create a rumor about my personal affairs (a lie deliberately made to discredit me). Let's assume my members were more gullible and this did not reach me. Classic telephone play would contort the rumor and eventually there is the possibility of this one action affecting my interactions with the rest of my alliance and/or the game. Now, this is an extreme scenario but it is within the realm of possibilities. I am not necessarily offended by the comment in itself. I do however take care to protect myself from potential occurrences as described above, because I have *seen* it happen to others. I think you are misinterpreting the nature of my 'taking offense' here. Even if it was a member of mine being treated as such, I would have taken the same action.

It's quite evident that it does not matter what I do or do not do. t$ IC opponents will look for a way to denounce us while refusing to to look at their own actions. Frankly, I have little faith left in the use of private channels (in part due to the last time a more severe attack occurred that was not related to Alpha, where I contacted admin privately and the results were not satisfactory). It also does not help that this is not an isolated incident. There's been a lot more of this over the past few months and none of it was handled. The eumir matter was privately brought up with sheepy as well, for example. I chose public and will continue to choose public for these matters henceforth. Because frankly, I don't really care what you think. Is this not the purpose of the moderation subforum?

By that logic: There is no such thing as a 'registry of sex offenders' in PW. Ergo, the only frame of reference could have been RL, making this a clear OOC comment. But honestly, we're arguing semantics now. You know well as I what was inferred here, and if you choose to look for ways to make it look acceptable, then that is your prerogative. Jesus you are thick. Terms have been violated, therefore action is required. It has little to nothing to do with 'my name being in the same sentence as'. Let me elaborate. IC, I play a persona which is at times controversial and polarizing. People are free to think of me as they wish as a result, and are free to call me what they wish, so long as it remains within the boundaries of the game. That invites the grudges and gameplay which propel this game. When people begin blurring RL into the game however, it is going to directly impede that dynamic. This occurrence is not new: It's happened in (That terrible game that is totally irrelevant and I shouldn't be bringing it up anyways), it's happened in a variety of other games. If no sanctions are placed on the blurring of IC/RL lines, said lines will continue to blur more severely. This can eventually have severe repercussions (again: This too has been observed a variety of times). People will eventually take matters overboard. When I play a game, I do it for fun. I think that counts for you, and most others as well. False accusations of being a sex offender do not fit into the mindset or the community. They have no bearing on the game and frankly, moderation was created to combat these kinds of issues specifically. I should note that the perpetrator in question is a member of James' alliance, indicating clear bias in keeping his name cleared.

Knew this was coming. What grief is or isn't caused is not *yours* to determine. That was a judgement call. I am certain that if I had done it in May, certain parties would have cried out moderation bias. So I waited until after the war and after I resigned from my IC position of power. So you're saying that my concern for the above invalidates the severity of the matter? Strange. And again: My IC persona is irrelevant to this. We're talking in an OOC forum about an OOC matter. Something is definitely warranted, yes. Harrassment as stated in the ToS is in severe cases a bannable offense. I believe false accusations regarding someone being a sex offender IRL (and sent to other people, making it impossible for the person in question to defend himself) constitutes that. Let sheepy be the judge.

I have in earlier topics made my concern for this community's regression rather clear. I do intend to do my part in keeping it clean.

Hello there. As I have retired in this game and the global war is over, I feel like there should be no accusations of mod abuse when I bring this to light. Throughout the war, Alpha members made a point of spamming messages to Syndicate members. Some in good fun. Some not so much. RL boundaries were repeatedly crossed. I do not yet have info on all that has been said. Most will likely come in later. Distasteful as comments have been, I understand that not all of them can be dealt with properly. The message was sent to a Syndicate member (not me) and insinuated that I would be a sex offender. I should ofcourse note that this is a lie- a disgusting one at that. The Syndicate member in question replied with wit, but the point remains: I am disturbed by such accusations being thrown into the world for no other reason than my political positioning in what is supposed to be a game. If we can not play this game and recognize it for what it is, then I suspect PnW will quickly lose interest of various parties. Sheepy, the last time someone entered in unacceptable behavior, the result was less than satisfying (see: The Digitizer issue). This time around, I have your perpetrator and proof. As the ToS have been violated, I request for the nation in question to be banned from the game in order to preserve the community's integrity and ward off toxic OOC behavior.

We keep hearing that argument brought forward: 't$ attacked an alpha ally'. Don't you think it's a bit strange to blame t$ for doing so, when said ally (Rose) opened a direct war (without treaty trigger because vanguard was paperless) on a t$ ally, thus triggering its treaty? And hey. If anything I can appreciate the resilience of Alpha members, sticking it out for so long. Your conduct (referring to various OOC attacks at the address of tS) is something I will always condemn, and I probably won't see eye to eye wit steve/james politically anytime soon though. Let's see what the future brings I suppose! The problem with taking the 'for steve' thing for what it was, was that we had no way of figuring out what it was until post-facto. That's not a mistake on our part: We ran with what information we had been given. Ultimately though, it is not why we decided to go to war and it is probably better to let the crossover for as far as it occured die in its crib. It was not that specific text of the responses which was read into, but rather the manner in which you handled it. It's not about being upset with you. Seeing someone's reaction will often tell a lot about that person. The same can be said for alliances. There's not much profit to be had in discussing that with you here though. I would give you one suggestion: Heed Mrhat more. He will probably be able to piece things together. As for villification and framing: That is something every single alliance here, which has been part of anything worth of note, has engaged in. You yourself included. In the end, we felt our war was justified because we felt sufficiently threatened by NPO and UPN. You may look at your repertoire of treaties and t$' collective history with those alliances for context.

Sorry. ) So... to summarize: Your allies not dropping us invalidates any claims t$ has made and backed up with logs and evidence regarding Alpha's actions. Alpha's allies, for whatever reason, deciding to stick with Alpha, washes Alpha's hands from any potential blood or crimes. Got it. By that logic, t$' allies not dropping us means t$ has never wronged anyone either. Hear that, Hans/Impero/Pub/Roq/Steve? Leave us alone!
