Ohayōgozaimasu! Welcome to episode 5 of the Rokkenjima News Report here on RNN! I’m your host, Clair Vaux Bernardus. It’s been a while since our last broadcast, and it seems both Rokkenjima and the rest of the world is about ready to get out of this silent spell we’ve been experiencing. So without further ado, let’s kick off March on a high note and get right to the news!

To begin, we’d like to start off by sharing an announcement from Rokkenjima’s Department of Foreign Affairs. Previously, it had been established that the Witch Council had no plans to allow its citizens to travel outside of Rokkenjima. While this still stands, the list of greenlit countries permitted to travel to Rokkenjima has been expanded upon. Greenlit countries currently include: Canada, the United States of America, MoG[Corp], Hungadada, Romanus, and the Grand Sufi Order. As always, applications must be filled out and sent to Rokkenjima’s Department of Foreign Affairs for review. Once accepted, the approved country is permitted to establish an embassy in Evatrice, and their citizens will be permitted to visit Rokkenjima. Just remember, a passport and personal ID must be presented upon arrival, and a background check must be performed before further entry is allowed.

Next, this is just a reminder that any foreign vessels caught within or attempting to enter Rokkenjima’s territorial waters without explicit permission from the Witch Council will be dealt with using military force, up to the discretion of the Rokkenjima Armed Forces. As a refresher, a map of Rokkenjima’s territorial waters can be found here.

Thirdly, we would like to present an update on Mirai Project, which was announced to the public during our last broadcast. Two brand new cities are nearing the end of construction, and are scheduled to be completed by the end of March. The first of which was previously noted by the Witch Council that the newly discovered resource known as Ether would be utilized in its construction and design. It is still unknown as to how, but we’ll see soon enough. The second city, whose location has been confirmed as southeastern Hokkaido, will serve as the location for Rokkenjima’s very own space elevator/space station, which is still in the process of being constructed. It is unknown as to when its date of completion will be, but it’s very likely that it won’t be along with the opening of its home city.

Continuing with the Mirai Project, we will now be sharing some details regarding Rokkenjima’s military. Since January, the numbers of the Rokkenjima Armed Forces have increased to the following: 2,450,000 active soldiers (+500,000), 49,000 tanks (+10,000), 8,800 aircraft (+1,800), 180 ships (+10), 51 starships (+0). Additionally, a new line of battleship has made its debut, and has been added to Rokkenjima’s Navy alongside the already existing Aura-line of battleships. Currently, around thirty of them exist. Production of the Aura-line will continue along with the new 07-Ushiromiya-line of battleships in the future. Details regarding the specifications of the 07-Ushiromiya Battleship have been withheld by the Witch Council.

Lastly, we will be covering two recent territorial expansions made by Rokkenjima this morning. The first expansion was an expected one. After being secured by Rokkenjima’s Armed Forces stationed in the area, the annexation of the remaining portion of Mongolia, which had been legally turned over to Rokkenjima by Mongolia’s former acting government, has been successfully completed. It is currently unknown whether further attempts will be made by the Witch Council to secure the Chinese-held eastern portion of the country, though it does seem highly unlikely at this time. The second expansion was a bit more unexpected. Furthering Rokkenjima’s policy of the containment of Communism, a peaceful agreement was made with the citizens of Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding areas to be annexed into Rokkenjima’s homeland. Following the signing of the agreement, the Witch Council sent a portion of Rokkenjima’s Air Force and Navy that were stationed in Taiwan to secure the newly created South Vietnam’s skies and waters. Additionally, within a few hours of the annexation, Ho Chi Minh City was officially renamed to Saigon, a name that hasn’t been recognized since 1975. The Witch Council has stated that Rokkenjima has already begun construction of several military bases which will be located in South Vietnam.

When the seagulls cried, none were left alive.
