The Latvian Guard, Latvian National Front's paramilitary wing, has launched a massive recruitment campaign to fight youth unemployment.

RIGA (Latvia) - Prime Minister Oskars Dankers signed the "Act for the dignity of the Latvian People" today at the building of the National Assembly in Riga. The Act, passed thanks to the overwhelming majority of the Latvian National Front in Latvia's Parliament, is "The first of a number of economic and social measures to ease the suffering and fight the poverty which have engulfed the Latvian Nation in the past two decades". The Act, considered by many the most important reform since the end of the soviet occupation, is set to deeply change the face of Latvia's welfare system.

The private single-payer Healthcare System has been replaced by a Universal Healthcare system that redefines Healthcare as a "Basic right for the Latvian people, irrespective of their income and social status. Nobody shall be left behind, and the main task of our Healthcare system will be the well being of our men, women and children". Prime Minister Dankers also noted that "The Government's priority is to guarantee every Latvian citizen the means and the conditions to live an honourable life, with particular regards to large families. Poor families will receive 30 Orbis Notes monthly subsides for each of their children. Women, who will give our Nation the future generations of Latvians, must be regarded as the most important pillars of our society, and the Latvian National Front will defend their rights as far as humanely possible. This reform will give young mothers the support of public Institutions should they require any economic and social assistance."

Another important revolution is set to change the unemployment subsides system, engulfed by rampant corruption, inefficiency and years of mismanagement by previous Latvian administrations. "Every Latvian citizen who suffered unvoluntary unemployment, illness or inability, will receive a monthly subside of 150 Orbis Notes. Meanwhile, the Government will provide all the necessary vocational training in order to improve their skills, and give the unemployed a renewed chance to find a suitable job. As promised, the Latvian National Front's priority is to restore the dignity of Latvian workers, who will be the protagonists of the Golden Century that is set to give Latvia its place under the sun." Prime Minister Dankers added.

The Government also announced the construction of new public housing buildings in the outskirts of Riga. The priority will be given to homeless citizens and all the Latvians living under the line of poverty who struggle to pay rents and bills. "It is unacceptable, i say totally unacceptable, that a large part of the population is denied the right to live a dignitous life. The Latvian people have the right to a house, a job and participation in the political and public life of the country. For this reason, the Government of Latvia has ordered the construction of new public housing buildings, which will be completed in record times, to provide its homeless and its impoverished citizens a shelter. This measure, as part of the Act for the the dignity of the Latvian People, along with unemployment benefits and vocational training, is set to restore our dignity as a Nation, and put the needs of the Latvian people as the first priority of my Government."

In a move that is set to spark outrage among the supporters of free market, the Government has nationalized the Central Bank of Latvia, the Latvian Hydrocarbons and Energy Company and the Latvian Railway Company. "Latvians have the right to control the companies that provide basic services, such as energy, transportation and financial loans. The aforementioned companies will never again pursue the interests of their foreign shareholders, or the interests of their CEOs. From this day, the companies that provide vital services for the Latvian Nation will be under direct control of the democratically elected Government of Latvia, in the interest of latvian workers." Dankers added.

While the opposition as labeled Prime Minister Dankers' measure as "utterly populist", the Latvian National Front defends the Act as "The most important and decivise effort for the dignity and the well-being of the workers and the poor.". As expected, a survey showed a plebiscite of 98,6% of citizens support the reform and praised Prime Minister Dankers for his efforts and his political and social agenda.
