Ikhan
Somewhere over Adenn (Mars) February 25th, 2010 (Orbis time) The bridge was filled with many people, some working the console, others piloting the ship, which was known as the Dominion. Slowly, the ship approached the world, which had strangely appeared like it was terraformed. Suddenly, everyone stood up at attention. "Attention! Commander on deck!" someone in the crowd said. "At ease. Now, I am guessing you know why we are here?" the officer said, with no response. "Well, I guess you need a reminder. We are here to set up a military base, as well as a new city and a starport so we can more easily repair ships in the area. Who knows, maybe we will be able to get a copy of the technology from the Starforge in order to be able to build equipment more quickly. Now if you will excuse me, I will get back to work." the officer added. "Enable the beacon for the rest of the fleet." he finished. "Yes sir!" one of the officers said as he enabled the beacon. Suddenly, two Harrower-class Dreadnaughts, the Desolator and the Fury, as well as their escort, a group of Terminus-class destroyers, approached. "This is Admiral Vaiken of the Desolator, approaching Adenn, over." one of the commanders said to the crew of the Dominion. "Roger that, Vaiken. Please hold your position." the Commander of the Dominion replied. "Beginning descent to the surface. We will need a squadron to patrol the area around the landing site, over." he added. "Roger that, Captain Hestun, or, should I say... Governor Hestun?" Vaiken said as he watched the ship descend to the surface of the planet. Planetside The ship slowly touched down on a plain, it's image similar to that of many worlds in Chernigov. For several minutes, the ship remained silent, however, that would change quickly. Slowly, ramps were extended from the ship in order for men to get outside. "Okay, this is it. We are to secure the area around our landing site and find a good source of food and water, as well as a place to build a residential area. I mean, we can't have them spending their entire lives on that ship, can we? That being said, lets move out!" one of the squad leaders said to his squad before they left the ship. Slowly, the squads left, either on foot or by walkers. While they left, squadrons began to explore the region they landed in to find a suitable place for a city and a military base. Ikhan
Somewhere near Hellas Planitia, Mars March 3rd, 2010 1100 hours Adenn, Mars, a world formerly covered in dust and sand, now a world similar to that of Earth. However, it was not without it's own differences. The gravity, for starters, is 0.62 g's less than on Orbis. That, of course, could be worked around, as well as allow for smaller cities that reached higher up. However, that was in the future, as the colonists had finally finished their first living zone just a short distance from the sea that was formerly known as "Hellas Planitia". This sea, naturally, would be used as a source of food and water while the farms were being set up. However, it was hardly what was expected, as a small squad on night watch would find out soon enough. South of New Tsiolkovsky March 3rd, 2010 1900 hours "Sir, if you don't mind me saying, I think we are lost." one of the privates said. "Shut up, private. We are not lost. We are simply wandering around the area in order to...... Uhm, chime in, any time." the leader replied. "Oh no, I am enjoying watching this. Go on, keep explaining." one of the other privates replied. "Wait! I heard something move! Sir, what do we do!?" he added. "Defensive positions! I will radio this in ASAP." the leader responded with alarm. "This is Sergeant Ivan Belenko of the 1st Colonial Infantry Regiment, 2nd squad, come in please! We have run into a slight problem and need immediately!" he finished before realizing that his troops were dead and something was staring at him, it's eyes like burning coals. Before he could do anything, the creature attacked and killed him. "Sergeant Belenko, are you there? I repeat, are you there?" someone said over the radio before giving up, realizing that he was likely dead.
