Samuel Ether had only recently joined the Pack, his family having served in it and for the royal family ever since Wintery was created. He was given permission by his captain to attend a night out in the capital. Witnesses seen him leaving a local bar when he was attacked by a hooded figure, shot point blank in the chest. A guardian angel must have been watching over the young man because a doctor was on the scene and was able to administer treatment on scene until transportation to Omni Memorial Hospital was provided. While the quick medical attention was able to give the Pack member a fighting chance, doctors state he is in critical condition and the next day will require close monitoring. It's unclear rather or not this assassination attempt could lead to an attack on the royal family itself since Pack members are royal guards, but the empress and her husband have okayed extra security for themselves and their children until it is made clear. And if the shooter is captured, he could be charged with treason and attempted murder for starters and the best he could for is expulsion from the nation. The worst: execution by hanging. As said before, the Ether family has served the royal family for generations, but that does not mean they are perfect. Samuel's older brother Randolph has been reported to have a problem with gambling and when his father refused to support his habit anymore, he had turned to more shady characters for loans. Randolph admits that he is in debt to these men while refusing to name them, so it is possible Samuel had been shot as a warning for his brother in not paying his debts. It is believed these people are responsible for the crime against his younger brother and Pack member Samuel. The royal family wishes for the shooter to be found not just for justice for someone who has vowed to work for them but to also make sure this doesn't happen in the future. "They are willing to send men to shoot members of the royal guard, a treacherous act, and so it shows they don't have qualms about who they are willing to hurt or kill." The Empress says with her husband beside her and First Prince Ericson and Second Princess Gem behind her, "We need names!" The Pack and Wintery's national police force the Seekers have worked together so far to help track the shooter. Although his identity has yet to be made, he has been tracked to the borders, and there's great fear that he had managed to flee the country. And as for Randolph, he has yet to make a statement, not even a reason for his silence. Captain of Samuel's Pack division Troy Muller as well as Randolph's parents urge to make a deal of immunity if his reason for silence is also criminal and protection if his silence is fear. Amaryllis Posted May 31, 2016 Author Share Posted May 31, 2016 Update: The hunt for the shooter the Seekers have called "Gray" -due to the gray hood the man had worn during the crime - has now ended. A body has been found hung in a cabin near Wintery's border. The unnamed man matches the physical built described by witnesses and the hood was what was used as a noose. An investigation will be conducted further into this due to a note pinned on the body with only the words "The Organization" written. Randolph refuses to comment and still sits in jail.
