    The Vienna Daily
    Issue One
    March 24th, 2023
Good Morning to whoever is reading/watching this issue of the Vienna Daily, the first of which will be issued to the public. In today's news, we have the recognition of the Italian populace within Südtirol, Slovenia, and Triest. In a shocking turn of events, the Austrian parliament voted to grant minority privileges to the Italian populace of these regions, with more of such votes likely to occur in the next few weeks. While currently, we can not accurately say what kind of effect this will have on the region, we can safely say that there will be less protests on such matters. Next, we have the creation of a new Nuclear Power Plant near the city of Maribor in Slovenia.
Rising from the countryside near Maribor, the newly constructed Jalovec Nuclear Fission Power Plant is preparing for it's first activation, which will only be used to see if it will be a viable source of power for the region. While this has garnered some negative publicity from the more environmentally concerned citizens of the region, the Austrian government assures the local populace that it is completely safe for the environment and that there is only a 0.00009% chance that a major incident related to the reactor could occur. Now onto the final segment of this issue, we have a prediction for Orbis in the next ten years.
Experts predict that in the next ten years, we could see sea levels rise as much as 46 centimeters (18 inches). Thanks to the rise in nationalism, we could also see the rise of a Polish and an Italian state within Europe, with the potential for new nations to rise in regions such as the Orient and the Americas. We could also see the expansion of other already existing nations, take Austria for instance. Austria would gain much from annexing regions such as Galicia and Veneto, as well as possibly Bavaria. We could also see nations such as the North German Confederation expanding further into Germany and the Benelux, while France might attempt to expand east into the Benelux, Switzerland, and Italy. Other nations, Rokkenjima for instance, will likely expand further as well, potentially taking over Japan, among other regions. Anyways, that's all for today's issue of the Vienna Daily.

July 4th: Chernigov announces that it is an Inter-Dimensional Empire (Yes, I planned that from nearly the beginning), Narvan and Calondia ally, Germany withdraws from the OSCO.

    Skipping many dates until recent.

    Breaking News!

Khevin, our closest ally, has been invaded by the treacherous Narvanese people. Such an outrage shall not go unpunished. Even Czar Alexei agrees on this. Here is his speech on the invasion:

"People of Chernigov, People of the World, today, a grave mistake has been made by the Empire of Narvan. The Nation has invaded our closest ally, Khevin, in a time in which it deals with a possible civil war. Such an attack has sparked outrage among my colleagues here in Chernigov, and rightfully so. As such, I am ordering the immediate mobilization of the Chernigovan Military. At the same time, I have been granted emergency powers by the Parliament of Chernigov, which is only granted during war or a crisis. I, regretfully, must side with my ally and cousin, Habibullah Sewick. Therefore, I urge for the international community to do the following: Condemn the nation of Narvan for it's actions in this invasion and a call to arms against Narvan, of course. Glory to Khevin! Glory to Chernigov!"

(Sorry if this is one of the shorter posts, but I had to get this out as quickly as possible.)

"Greetings, I am Anton Budny, bringing you RNN, the Ruthenian News Network. Today is our first ever broadcast since the Chernigov Eagle was, well, discontinued...

We here at RNN believe that it is only right to continue the goal of the Chernigov Eagle to remain as unbiased as possible. Of course, we know that it will be completely impossible, but who is to say that we can not try, am I right?" Someone says "No!" from the opposite side of the room. "Shut up, Pavlo!" From the same area, the voice said "Sorry!".

"Okay, back to the topic at hand, we have received word that a new national park is being opened, as well as that ground has been broken on the Sewick Memorial Tower, which will be the first building in Chernigov to have it's own Sviatoslavite reactor. Not only that, but there has been word that the last of the traitors in the Great Ruthenian Civil War will be put on trial, likely to be executed. First up, the new National Park, I guess."

    NEW NATIONAL PARK

"That is right, today, Czar Alexei Lysenko will be at Mt. Hovlera for the opening ceremony of Hovlera National Park, the first of it's kind in our nation. At the same time, it is believed that more places will be made into national parks in the future. These areas will have a prohibition on hunting anything, so as to preserve the natural beauty of the region."

"Next, we have some things that are not as important, as I pretty much covered them earlier, except for the trial, which is tomorrow, so I guess that this is all for now. Anton Budny, signing out."

Chernihiv, Chernigov Oblast, The Grand Ruthenian Empire of Chernigov.

    Date: July 14th, 2002

Today, a most historic decision has been made by the Parliament of Chernigov. An agreement to open the Chernigov - Khevin Border was signed by three-fourths of the Chernigovan parliament. We are now waiting for Khevinist Government Officials to sign the treaty. The treaty is as follows:

    The Treaty of the Dneiper

    1) - Both Nations promise to assist each other in a time of war unless the other nation is recovering from a war.

    2) - Merchants from Khevin and Chernigov are allowed to trade freely in the other nation.

    3) - Chernigovan Ships are allowed to stay in Khevinist Ports while Khevinist Ships are allowed to be stationed in Chernigovan Ports.

    4) - Khevinist People are allowed to freely travel throughout Chernigov and Chernigovan People are allowed to freely travel throughout Khevin.

    5) - Chernigov and Khevin are to never go to war with each other.

    6) - The Pripyat Exclusion Zone will be strictly off limits and anyone currently living in it will have to leave immediately.

    7) - Chernigov will not associate with any enemy of Khevin and Khevin will not associate with any enemy of Chernigov.

Today, Czar Alexei Lysenko has made a speech regarding recent events. Here is his speech.

"People of Chernigov, I have led you through many hardships in the past years, from the streets of Chernigov as a leader in the Chernigovan War for independence to this very room. But in all of my years, I never thought that we would make peace with Arabia, a nation with whom we have fought on and off for many years. At this very moment, Chernigovan Diplomats are making a treaty that will bring about a lasting peace, something we have strove through for many years. For this, I am greatful, but we have still many threats left in the world. For instance, we still have pollution to deal with. But that is beside the point. We still have the fight against injustice against all mankind. We have the fight against those who would threaten the people of the world. But if we work together, we can win this fight! As my predecessor told me many years ago, just before he was murdered, In the 17th Chapter of Luke, "The Kingdom of God is within men." Not just one man or a group of men, but everyone. In the people, not just me, or my colleagues! Therefore, we must all unite. We must fight for a new world, a world without injustice, a world without greed, a world without hatred, a perfect world! I know this is something that will be hard to achieve, but if we work together, we can achieve it. So let us all unite! To those outside of Chernigov, if you can hear me, I say - do not despair, the bitterness upon us is but the passing of greed and hatred, the bitterness of those who despise humanity's progress. The hate of those will perish, and they shall die, and the power of the people shall be returned. If we are to work to end this hatred, we must all unite!"

Breaking news! The Anarchist group known as "New Dawn", known for the assassination of former Prime Minister John Thornton, has taken over much of Eastern Ruthenia in an attempt to destroy this fair nation of ours. This has forced the Chernigovan Military to begin attacking New Dawn Forces throughout the area, essentially starting a civil war. Emperor Alexei Lysenko had this to say about it:

"People of Chernigov, please listen, for this is important! As of yesterday, March 24, 2001, the Terrorist Group known as "New Dawn", took over much of Eastern Ruthenia, and has begun recruiting your countrymen to their cause. I understand that many of you have family on the other side, but listen, they are the enemy! The New Dawn shall be crushed and peace shall be restored! So I humbly request that you flock to our side. Any of those who join us shall be considered heroes! Onwards, to victory!"

    The Chernigov Eagle
    (Anthem begins)
    We knew thee of old,
    Oh, divinely restored,
By the light of thine eyes
And the light of thy Sword.

From the graves of our slain
    Shall thy valour prevail
As we greet thee again —
    Hail, Chernigov! Hail!

    Long time didst thou dwell
    Mid the peoples that mourn,
    Awaiting some voice
    That should bid thee return.

    Ah, slow broke that day
    And no man dared call,
    For the shadow of tyranny
    Lay over all:

    And we saw thee sad-eyed,
    The tears on thy cheeks
    While thy raiment was dyed
In the blood of the Chernigovans.

    Yet, behold now thy sons
    With impetuous breath
    Go forth to the fight
    Seeking Freedom or Death.

From the graves of our slain
    Shall thy valour prevail
As we greet thee again —
    Hail, Chernigov! Hail!
    (Anthem ends)

Today, the trial of the infamous war criminal "Abu Haddad" shall begin. The trial, which will be more of a military tribunal, will cover his acts of genocide, murder, assault, breaking of international law, the imprisonment of ambassadors to the nation, and many other incidents. Our own General Martyn Kozak will be one of the judges at the trial, who famously retook Crimea and took over Chechnya in the Second Great Arabian War (AKA The Second War of Arabian Containment). Also, you may have noticed that the Chernigovan Anthem played before the broadcast, we now are allowed to do that, so it will play before every broadcast.
    .
We hope that this international criminal will be brought to justice, and that he will pay for his crimes against humanity. The People of Chernigov shall rejoice when he is imprisoned and likely put on death row.

This Is Ivan Sewick of the Chernigov Eagle, bringing you a special live report! Today is the day of the Coronation of Emperor Alexei Lysenko. We will continue coverage of the event, and might be able to get an interview with my distant cousin Habibullah Sewick. Okay, we need to be silent now, the Emperor is about to begin his address to the Nation, in fact, there he is!

People of Chernigov, I am Alexei Lysenko, your leader. Today, we stand on the precipice of the future, a time in which the nation will need a strong leader, one who can bring us through any of the trials that the future may bring. Therefore, I humbly ask that you accept me as your leader from now on. With me at the helm of the nation, we can help to create a better world, one that is free of war, of pain, of strife. Do not be alarmed, there will still be a parliament that will handle any issues that you might have. Now, I hear you asking, "Who will be the new prime minister!?". To that question, I answer that my close friend Ivan Sewick shall take my place. Let us hope that he will lead us to prosperity. Next issue, Pollution. I have heard your concerns about it, and I promise that I will do something about it. I also promise to bring the nation to a new height in it's economy, so that we can afford to keep the nation alive. That is all.

*You can hear the crowds applauding the Emperor's somewhat short speach*

Okay, now we have a military parade in the New Emperors' honor, but first we have the National Anthem of Chernigov.

    (Anthem Begins)
    We knew thee of old,
    Oh, divinely restored,
By the light of thine eyes
And the light of thy Sword.

From the graves of our slain
    Shall thy valour prevail
As we greet thee again —
    Hail, Chernigov! Hail!

    Long time didst thou dwell
    Mid the peoples that mourn,
    Awaiting some voice
    That should bid thee return.

    Ah, slow broke that day
    And no man dared call,
    For the shadow of tyranny
    Lay over all:

    And we saw thee sad-eyed,
    The tears on thy cheeks
    While thy raiment was dyed
In the blood of the Chernigovans.

    Yet, behold now thy sons
    With impetuous breath
    Go forth to the fight
    Seeking Freedom or Death.

From the graves of our slain
    Shall thy valour prevail
As we greet thee again —
    Hail, Chernigov! Hail!
    (Anthem ends)
What a nice song, still, I can not believe that I am soon going to be the prime minister of Chernigov... Nonetheless, the parade is about to begin, so we should be quiet. Over there is
General Martyn Kozak, who lead Chernigovan Forces in the Great Arabian War. Okay, now we should be silent.

(General Martyn Kozak to the Chernigovan Troops, with both Ruthenian and English Translations)

Ð”Ð»Ñ Ð½Ð°Ñ†Ñ–Ð¾Ð½Ð°Ð»ÑŒÐ½Ð¾Ð³Ð¾ прапора Ñ– прапорів перемоги, мовчки! For the national flag and the flags of victory, silently!
Ð”Ð»Ñ Ð·ÑƒÑтрічі з лівої гвардії! For the meeting with the left guard!
Очі вліво, Ñалют! Eyes left, salute!

Okay, now that he has spoken, the military parade can begin. First up are the flags of victory, a group of flags from the Great Arabian War that lasted without any damage, some of these were raised over captured towns in Arabia or the Islamic State.

Next up is the 1st Ruthenian Regiment, an elite unit that served in the Great Arabian War, and one of the reasons we stand here today.
I am extremely glad to have them on our side, oh hey, one of them recognized me as the new Prime Minister... Okay, now we have the 4th Armored division.

Well, there they go... What a majestic division if you ask me personally. Now we have the 1st Fighter wing, composed solely of aces from the Ruthenian War.

Well, that seems to be all of the parade. Now we are going on to the Coronation itself. The event is being covered by many different news stations from all over the world, I'm sure. Now, I wont be able to provide commentary as I have been ordered to be near the Emperor during the Coronation. Okay, moving on.

    During the Coronation
    (Chaplain to Alexei Lysenko.)
    Okay, sir, repeat after me.

I, your name, defender of the faith, promise to protect the nation of Chernigov, and the Christian faith,
To help those who need it, to defend those under threat, and to help bring peace to the world,
be a light ruler, but one who will be willing to take drastic measures as the situation requires,
to do whatever it takes to defend the Christian Faith, and to remain steadfast and assist any ally Chernigov may have.

    (Alexei Lysenko to the Chaplain)

I, Alexei Lysenko, defender of the faith, promise to protect the nation of Chernigov, and the Christian faith,
To help those who need it, to defend those under threat, and to help bring peace to the world,
be a light ruler, but one who will be willing to take drastic measures as the situation requires,
to do whatever it takes to defend the Christian Faith, and to remain steadfast and assist any ally Chernigov may have.

    (Chaplain to Alexei Lysenko)

Then in the power vested in me in the name of God, I name you Emperor of the Grand Ruthenian Empire of Chernigov, Lord of Don, Lord of Kuban.

    (Coronation ends)

Well, I am going to get ready for the celebration I guess. Ivan, this is your last chance to get that interview with Habibullah, okay?

Got it, sir, and good luck.

    The Chernigov Eagle

Hello again, This is Ivan Sewick, bringing you the Truth in this world filled with lies, corruption, assassinations, and other horrible things. Good news is that today is the first Televised edition of the Chernigov Eagle. In today's news, Vladimir Zhogin of Khevin and Former Prime Minister John Thornton assassinated,

At 8:00 am, Former Prime Minister John Thornton was found dead in his mansion, shot dead with a 0.44 mm round. The time of the assassination was believed to be around 6:58 am that day. We have yet to figure out who killed him, but we believe he was killed by a member of the Fascist group "New Dawn". At this time, government agents are raiding buildings owned by this group in order to find the man who killed the Former Prime Minister in order to interrogate him. We hope that he will be apprehended soon, but this could go on for weeks if not months. If you know the man, make sure to report him to the Chernigovan Government Immediately. We are trying to get a DNA analysis on the bullet as soon as possible. The Former Prime Minister's Funeral will be held tomorrow. (IRL)
[shortened Version of The Chernigovan Anthem Plays]
    I shall always recognize you

by the peace that you bring
    as Orbis with searching vision
    you survey with spirit bold
as the Chernigovans of Old who died
brought to life with peace and strength
we praise our Lord and Savior, God
let us hail you, oh Chernigov.
    [Anthem Ends]
At the same time, President Vladimir Zhogin of Khevin was reported to have been assassinated. We mourn with our Brothers and Sisters in Khevin over the loss of this great man. The Government of Khevin has reported that a militant group known as "SARF" has claimed responsibility for the assassination. We here at the Chernigov Eagle condemn this act made by the group.

So... First post on this new Blog. This will be for my thoughts on certain matters, such as Politics, Wars, Music, and other things.

Music - Vocal or Instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, or expression of emotion. Does Modern Music follow these different definitions of it? How about I compare modern music, say Rave Music, to, for instance, the works of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, or Wolfgang Adameus Mozart, to name a few. In particular, we will be looking at Requiem - Lacrimosa for Mozart, and the 1812 Overture for Tchaikovsky.

First Question. Does Rave Music produce beauty of form? Constant Electronic Beats that hurt peoples ears, Definitely not. As for the classics such as Requiem? Hmm, one tone for most of it... Yes, in my opinion, it passes with flying colors.

Second Question. Does Rave Music provide harmony? Perhaps, when you look at it from a certain perspective, however when you take a closer, and I mean closer look (well, listen really), it hardly seems to be in harmony with the song at first, but in a way it can. So I say it hardly, and I mean like 0.003% of it actually reaches that. As for the Classics such as Requiem and 1812, it mostly follows it.

Third Question. Does it show emotion? With Rave Music, it is kinda hard to tell, as it mostly seems like a child who has no musical talent trying to make music. Of course, I am not saying Classical Music is perfect either, but I would definitely say that Lacrimosa shows sadness, mourning. (I mean seriously, the name itself literally translates to weeping!). As for 1812 Overture, it is in memory of the victory of the Russian Armed Fores over France in the Napoleonic Wars.

(I may have been a bit to biased towards it.)

Today, the parliament of the Grand Ruthenian Empire of Chernigov has officially adopted an anthem. The anthem is to the tune of Hymn to Liberty, which is in honor of the birthplace of Democracy, and the lyrics of the anthem are from the poem "Hail Chernigov, Hail!". The anthem has been an unofficial anthem for a while now, and was the preferred anthem of the people.
    Anthem here:

Greetings, everyone, this is Ivan Sewick of the Chernigov Eagle, bringing you the most un-biased news in all of Chernigov. In today's televised broadcast, we will be covering the state funeral of John Thornton, First Prime Minister of Chernigov. Okay, we are going to one of our reporters in the field now.

Thank you, Ivan, for giving some of the information, as you can see in the background, Former Prime Minister John Thornton's Coffin is being loaded onto the hearse, where he will be transported to the Chernigov National Cemetery, where many of our nation's heroes are buried.

The Funeral will begin in 10 minutes as the vehicle arrives at the cemetery where the crowds are already massing, many of whom are family members and members of the Government, such as Prime Minister Alexei Lysenko, Deputy Prime Minister Nikita Kovalenko, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Shvets, and Secretary of State Mykhail Polishchuk. Back to you Ivan.

Thank you sir, any minute now, the Hearse will arrive and the funeral will begin. As you heard from the reporter, many important members of the government will be at the funeral, so we will try to get an interview with many of them, but if they decline, we will not bother them. As for the former prime minister's family, we will not bother them at all, as this is a hard time for them. Back to you, Pavlo.

Thank you once again Ivan, at the moment the hearse has finally arrived at the cemetery, where the Funeral will take place. As you can see, a large crowd has formed for the funeral, some from Chernigov, others from neighboring nations. Prime Minister Lysenko and his family are among the crowd, alongside diplomats from several member states of the Cornerstone Alliance, and other members of the government. Okay, the coffin is now being brought to the grave site.
[instrumental version of the Chernigovan Anthem plays while the crowd sings the lyrics]
    I shall always recognize you
by the peace that you bring
    as Orbis with searching vision
    you survey with spirit bold.

From the Chernigovans of Old who died
brought to life with peace and strength
    now with ancient valour rising
let us hail you, oh Chernigov!

    now with ancient valour rising
let us hail you, oh Chernigov!

    now with ancient valour rising
let us hail you, oh Chernigov!
    [anthem ends]
Well, that was an inspiring moment for the nation, was it not, Ivan?

Yes, indeed it was Pavlo. Now that that is over, the crowd will be singing several hymns, as per usual in Chernigov. First up is "Nearer, My God to thee...".
    [singing Begins]
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee! E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me; Still all my song shall be nearer, my God, to Thee, Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee! There let the way appear steps unto heav'n; Darkness be over me, my rest a stone; Yet in my dreams I'd be nearer, my God, to Thee!. All that Thou sendest me in mercy giv'n; Angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to Thee! Then with my waking thoughts bright with Thy praise, Out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise; So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to Thee! Or if on joyful wing, cleaving the sky, Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upwards I fly, Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee! There in my Father’s home, safe and at rest, There in my Savior’s love, perfectly blest; Age after age to be, nearer my God to Thee! [singing Ends] What a wonderful song that was, wouldn't you agree, Pavlo? Yes sir, it was indeed. Lets see here, what is next. Ah, that is right, next is "Rock of Ages". [singing Begins] Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
    Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy riven side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Cleanse me from its guilt and power.

Not the labour of my hands
    Can fulfill Thy law's demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
    Could my tears forever flow,
    All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring,
    Simply to Thy cross I cling;
    Naked, come to Thee for dress;
    Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
    Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Saviour, or I die!

While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyes shall close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgement throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee. [singing Ends]
Okay, that was all of the songs that will be sung at the funeral, now we go on to the actual burial itself if I am correct. The Coffin is right now being lowered into the grave.
Finally, we have the traditional Seven Gun salute, used specifically for a prime minister, hero in the military, or member of the Chernigovan Parliament.

This concludes this broadcast from the Chernigov Eagle. Sorry if it was shorter than usual articles, but we had to stay quiet due to the funeral.

Hello, this is our first Newspaper to be printed, so please forgive us if it is not up to standards, but anyways, I am glad to actually do this for anyone who reads this. This newspaper will cover anything from Foreign Affairs to Religion, Economy to National Affairs, and anywhere in between. Anyways, we have a few interesting things to talk about today. We will try to be unbiased about any of this, though on occasion, we will show support to certain groups, nations, people, etc... Well, here goes nothing, I guess.

    National Affairs.

Yesterday, February 10, 2000, at 1:00pm, there was a major protest against our government's attempts to find a diplomatic solution to the Hostage Crisis in "The Islamic State of Arabia", a nation under the control of a terrorist group that we are calling ISA, which is headed by a man named "Abu Haddad". This protest, which started at 10:00 AM, eventually turned violent, with shops owned by people who are believed to have been of Arabian Descent or were Arabian Immigrants being broken into, the windows and precious items broken, and many of the shopkeepers injured or killed. Afterwards, the protesters took to the streets shouting Death to Arabia in Ruthenian. Afterwards, the streets were silent for about an hour. The silence was broken at 5:00 pm, when the protesters returned in larger numbers, many of whom were armed with rifles, pistols, grenades, Molotov Cocktails, and clubs. Many of them also were carrying flags of Chernigov and other Ruthenian Flags. At this point, they were approaching one of the largest squares in the city. After thirty minutes, armed riot police arrived on the scene, to find what looked like a war-zone. Image below.
For several hours, rioters clashed with police but neither could get the upper hand, all the while, several houses
burnt down as other riots started throughout the city. At the same time, riots started in Kiev and Rostov, where similar events occurred. At 10:30 pm, military units were called in to suppress the riot, which did not end until 12:30 am. The Casualties include 15 Arabian Shopkeepers who were killed early on, 19 rioters, 12 armed guards, 30 police officers, and 100 civilians. The Riot cost about ₽100,000 in damage
